- Made a cheap $200 exhaust for the B9 Audi S4 until I have money for the full stainless steel exhaust system!
Decided to just delete the big pancake muffler and put on some decent tips. Ended up sounding and looking great!
I got the tips from SummitRacing. They are AP exhaust tips that only cost $17.99 each.

Looking at doing the same thing with my S5. $2-3K is kinda crazy for a little more sound. I’m also in a wheelchair but the whole 4dr thing doesn’t work for me and the chair.
I did the same, love it. Still quiet, good tone, no drone. Front and rear res delete, muffler intact.
I did the same but put a x-pipe on the middle big resonator instead.
So if you put your S4 on a rack and delete the muffler, once you lower it back to the ground it has an aftermarket diffuser? Crazy

Hey, looking for which AP exhaust tips you got. They are perfect! Look like stock but a little bigger :) How many inches? Also congrats on the RS5 trade up :) I'm sure you are loving it !
Thank you! And I got them from Summit Racing Equipment for $17.99 each. Part # ST1254S. They’re $18.99 now🤷🏻♂️😂 They’re 2.5” inlet, 7.5” length.

Thank you! Nope no intake on the car. Just the stock air box. But I have the elbow and coupler that come off of the airbox into the turbo for better flow. Also have a Forge Blow-off valve. That’s prolly the sound you’re talking about.
Was the muffler delete worth the money? Did it sound a lot better than stock?
I think it was definitely worth it! I think it sounded much better, but not too much.

@@WheelzAC what size was the inlet for the exhaust tips you got, and if you by any chance measured the factory muffler inlet size? Also how’d you get them to fit with the active valves ?
I was considering doing this but am worried that big void where the muffler used to be will cause turbulence at high speed.. thoughts? Also, wouldn't the valves be exposed to higher temps? I would think the muffler helps dissipate heat.. maybe I am over thinking it and just need to do it.lol

Hey bro I just a quick question, what size exhaust tips did you order to fit onto the factory mufflers ? I don’t know what size the inlet pipe diameter is on the factory mufflers any help would be appreciated ! Thanks

Diffuser is from ECS Tuning! The black trim is factory OEM. It’s the black optic package I believe.

curious is this pretty much the same as the resonator delete provided by audi for around $800?
Not sure I don’t get work done at Audi. Plus this was a muffler delete. Resonators are still there

They came on the car. It has the Black Optic Package.
You know they sell a piece already made for that and pre muffler delete pieces as well
Why would you buy the pre-made when any exhaust shop can do it like I did for cheaper?🤔 Plus I sold this car. Got the RS5 now
What’s the point if deleting a muffler just t add 2 smaller ones? I have an a3 that I’m looking to do a muffler delete but no muffler at all.
he didnt add any mufflers? he cut out the mid resonators and left the mufflers and the front resonators.

I don’t have it anymore but I believe each pipe was 2.25”… 2.5” at max.

Those are cats actually Audi has 2 a upper cat and a lower cat there’s then a resignator which is what u deleted not ur muffler and tips won’t make a a sound difference in a car at all only on trucks will a tip make a different sound
those are not catalytic converters, the cat is in the downpipe right after the turbo, those components at the front he was referring to are called the "pre mufflers", there is no catalytic converter in those. But you are right about the second part, he deleted the resonator.
Your exhaust is no longer balanced now. You may have lost a bit of power.
I would have used an Xpipe or Hpipe in place of your center resonator
I don’t agree. Definitely did not lose power. Don’t matter tho this car is long gone. Sold it
And to think I was about to buy a miata
