Kenny sparkled in live concerts. I have to say that in my lifetime his was one of the top three concerts I ever witnessed.
I’ve heard this concert more than a few times and this is his best rendition of the whole thing.
Sometimes you have to leave to be who you are supposed to be instead of what someone else wants you to be. Powerful song. Powerful lesson.
This was Kenny's best concert. Beautiful setting in the Grand Canyon. He had the audience feeling the peace he brings. He opens up that tap and the love pour's out.
Wowzers, most musical artists don't sound as good live as they do in the studio. Kenny Loggins is a notable exception.

Brings tears to my eyes .. 🥰. Anyone that goes through a divorce especially can identify with this love song... Yup, it’s a love song 🥰

My parents never got divorced, but I remember listening to this in January 1994 as my father was dying of cancer in the hospital and when he sang the line "but your daddy doesn't live here anymore", I just lost it. To this day, I tear up whenever he gets to that line.

My dad played this song for me when he and my mom separated. Every time I hear it, it brings me back to that day but with bittersweet memories since I haven't seen my dad in 21 years. He was an alcoholic who disappeared a few years after their divorce. This concert was one of our favorites to watch together. When I need a dose of my dad, I watch this video and Return to Pooh Corner. I miss my dad.

I’m sorry that your dad was gone. My mom took her four kids & moved to Washington state. Away from my dad in California. Ever since then, there was an empty spot. My dad would never be there again. I was very glad to visit him though. Both my mom and dad passed on. Mom in 2005 & my dad later. I was always sad they divorced. I was 10 years old when they divorced.

Whenever listening to this song, the emotions that run through me are definitely "the real thing" for I feel every sentiment possible. Such a gorgeous yet heartbreaking tune, and one I love more with each listen, which seems impossible due to loving this song the instant I first heard it long ago.

My son just told me this song helped him cope with our divorce when he was 12 yo. Broke my heart when he told me that. He is 41 now. And our marriage was horrible with domestic abuse. I knew leaving his dad was the right thing but still breaks me to think of what that does to kids.

Did you know that research shows that your marriage will become happy again if you stay with your marriage for five years without doing therapy or any other intervention. Just hanging in with your spouse when its tough and maybe, even, too tough, for five years, your marriage will most times turn itself around!!! Crazy, right??? Its brutal to attempt this without a good sound spiritual life or really true friends who call the suffering couple out with killer wisdom!!! I'm no saint.. I'm one who didn't have children to assist me in my commitment but I think the research is true!!! My life may have been happier if I had just remained in the muck and prayed a lot!!! Still I love the song and I definitely love Kenny's good intentions here!!!
We were well beyond 5 years before having therapy, but my ex husband made other choices above our marriage, so, as hard as I tried for over 30 years, I couldn't save it alone. I didn't realize I couldn't love him out of his addiction.

I hate Kenny Loggins for writing such a beautiful song. Been through two divorces, my parents and my own and this song touches me deeply everytime I hear it. One of my all time favorite songs but it's tough to hear.

Is that was divorcing my wife. I never meant to divorce my children. The divorce was between me and my wife and how it affected their lives. I had no idea years went by. It took 24 years for me to renew my relationship with my son and then another 6 years after that with my other son. I hadn't seen my daughter since she was 4 years old. That was some 38 years ago. I don't want to live in the past. I look forward to there building the relationship with my two boys and that's about all I can ask of God.

Why did Kenny have concerts in the Grand Canyon and the Redwoods? I'm sure the wildlife didn't appreciate his presence, and I have followed him since Loggins and Messina in the 1970's.
