Another beautiful day for a town tour. Thanks Timothy.

I remember using the "old bridge" until sometime in the early 70s. It was US13, which ran through Winton. When the new bridge, seen on the left, was built, Winton was bypassed, leading to it's decline. The old bridge was metal and very narrow, barely wide enough for two cars. It had a drawbridge which opened frequently for boats.

Thanks for the information. I thought that may have been the case.

On Google maps when you look up Winton NC
The surround view shows the fire department.

Looks like a nice little town with a lot of civil war history.. and nice water area also. Nice footage and Job 👍

Now that, is a beautiful opening house Timothy. As a retired housepainter, I'm not sure I would relish painting that baby, but it is quite a house. I suspect being 82 years of age has something to do with that decision.
That said, that was a great little town. If I wasn't happy living outside of Southport, I could actually see myself living there, although I would be living without my wife who also loves where we live, so that's not going to happen. Clean town, on the water, what's not to love other than the Civil War who had an impact on the area.

I agree. Looks like a great place to live. But you better keep the wife happy. 🤣

To bad they let these little places fall into poor condition. Very nice river. Good job
