Dear Gluck, Thank you for a great review. Despite them being sent to you for free, I feel I can be confident in your review quality. I see and recognize the time and effort you put into filming and editing. No B-roll shot, for a joke or to make a point, ever goes unnoticed. I recognize that the quality of your videos still consistently improves, be it in the quality of filming, your diction, or other aspect of your videos. I have recently reached a point in my life where I am an adult, and I am starting to feel the weight of my ambitions of wanting to start my own business or something of the sort, and it is starting to become apparent to me how difficult it can be to commit or put work on something one can't be sure about making money when you got others depending on you. I respect that you are able to make consistent improvements and stay on schedule while having the responsibilities of a family and a young child. As with any startup, you must have put a lot of time and effort into it to make it all work. I am glad to see you succeed. I hope you and your family is doing well.
Always pleased with your honest reviews. No hesitation when you see something you don't like. Other reviewers sometimes sneak in a negative but quickly back it up with a positive. I don't like that. If something isn't good I want to know about it before I plop a grand down on it. Thank you Adrian for "getting after it".
This review was perfect 🤝🏼 As many others in the comments there are pros and cons with different brands. At the end of the day 50lb are 50lb, we all have different tolerances for usability and also different budgets. My biggest reasons on why these are better than other adjustable ones is weight capacity, durability and price (amazon had discounts and free shipping) also hate the rattling noises of other Adjustable dumbbells. Again this video just helped clarify that, thanks again.
I was choosing between these two recently and ultimately went with Ironmaster. Warranty length and the company being around longer than I have is what swayed me even though they cost more...there's a peace of mind with that as silly as it may sound.
I've never liked and commented this quick in a video before but I really appreciate you reading our suggestions in previous videos and reviewing this set of dumbbells, I've been thinking about getting them but wasn't convinced, however now that I've watched your review, I'm positive i'd rather get these and save quite a bit of money compared to the Reppins which I was convinced in getting instead but they're almost twice the price
Another amazingly thorough review! Thank you for the details on Eisenlink and the side by side comparison literally one in each hand; brilliant! Also amazed at how you can do Base 2.5 math with dumbbells and Base 45 math with barbells.
Maybe not your gym style, but I'd love for you to make a video where you create a home gym with space as priority. I'm talking adjustable AND foldable bench together with adjustable Dumbbells and what kind of rack and stuff like that. Apologize if you already done this, couldn't find it in your older videos. Thanks for a great channel!
Great review, thanks. Another plus for Ironmaster is their ecosystem, as you mentioned in your Home Gym Con vid. I've had Ironmaster dumbells for several years and recently purchased two IM kettebell handles, so for an extra $200, I have two high-quality, loadable kettlebells. You can also use the IM plates, and dumbbells themselves, in the IM portable cable tower. I'm sure many of your viewers aren't interested in kettlebells or portable cable machines, but IM products are a good solution for those of us without space for a rack and lots of barbell plates.
I live in China and you can get those eisenlink ones as unbranded for like 300dollars for the 65kg/140lb pair. They actually have some that go up to 120kg/260lb each lol. They also sell kettlebell handles and barbells that are compatible with the plates too which is quite cool. Never heard of eisenlink but i recognized this product instantly.
💪We would have included the added value of our Quick-Lock plates being compatible across 6 unique products, IMHO, but a solid review! Thanks, team Gluck.
Something i want to mention here is that I have bent the handle on my iron masters (dropped 100lbs off incline press right onto the corner). Iron master of course offered to fix them when I contacted them, but suggested I might be able to beat them back into place myself, which wouldn’t affect the lifetime warranty. Where I see this being an issue for the eisenlinks is that if the handle were to bend at all, it might affect seating the plates into each other with the screws. I’m still using my wonky iron masters, and I don’t have a pair of eisenlinks, but for heavy lifting I think I’ll stick with the iron masters.
I'm about two steps away from pulling the trigger on Ironmaster and, for me, the two biggest advantages are the expansive ecosystem and greater weight potential. I was previously about to pre-order the upcoming Rep x Pepin...but...looking at Ironmaster's kettlebell that A.) can hold 25 lbs more than the Pepin version and B.) do so at less than one third the cost of Pepin's offering (which may not even be compatible with the upcoming Rep iteration), well, I can see why they have such a dedicated following.
I’ve been waiting for a proper review of these for a long time! The Eisenlinks had just shown up on Amazon here in the UK when I was starting my home gym last year. At the exact same time I was looking at spending £500 on a pair of Ironmasters from Facebook Marketplace but was seriously tempted at going with the brand new (likely warranty holding) Eisenlinks. At the time though there was next to zero information about the Eisenlinks so I took the leap and grabbed the second hand Ironmasters and have loved them with the addition of the Heavy Handle kit ever since. Your review has validated my decision so thank you!
I have a pair of the Eisenlinks in bound, your review was really helpful. I have decent size hands so I am too concerned about the size. I was drawn by the value and the durability. I did entertain the idea of rep -peppins but with a 5-6 month wait a d my son wanting to get for the season, that was a no-go.
Thanks for reviewing these! To me this style of adjustables are great for your heaviest movement, such as DB bench. I could see me getting these and leaving them at 95+ and adding plates as I get stronger, while continuing to use my existing and quicker to adjust Power blocks for lighter bodybuilding style movements.
This is what I am thinking too as I also have a set of quicker adjustables that I am out growing. As long as you are not making big weight changes, there isn’t as much twisting to do to lock/unlock. I’ll just keep these at the heavier weight and use my other one for lighter weight ranges.
I really liked the thorough comparison in the video. These look like they’d be faster to change because of the slot on the plates, so the subtle differences are easy to miss. This style is a bit too slow for my taste, but great durability and value.
The Eisenlink look kinda cool, and I can get them in Canada from Amazon Canada for 600$ for a pair of 80 pounders. But I can't buy the long pings and more plates to get to the 145lb I need to do curls.
My choice will be Ironmaster for the warranty and it's a solid brand we can trust. Sometimes it's useful to pay a little more 😉 greetings from the South of France. I enjoy watching your videos
I have had the eisenlinks for about 2 weeks now and the only 2 inconveniences i have are the locking pin taking more time than id like when adjusting weight and pinching my fingers in the built in handles while dropping in more than 10b pounds per end , once you get used to that , they are solid
@markmurray5659 you have to unscrew the locking pins pretty far to accommodate the set screws to have enough space to remove a plate. And each plate has a built in hole/ handle, if you are not careful with 10 or more pounds, when you drop in plates while your fingers are in there, you can easily smash them when changing weights.
@markmurray5659 for comparison the 75 pound ironmaster dbs are about 700 dollars, while the 80 pound dbs from eisenlink are about 500, that same 500 gets you the 45 pound pair from ironmaster roughly While the price may seem a lot, a full steel construction is gonna last a lifetime vs another adjustable set that uses plastic or ceramic or some type of composite
Haven't had any issues yet. That's why Eisenlink added the alignment screws over the originals Ironmaster indent system (or whatever you want to call it).
I was having a hard time with the thought process with changing the plate also at first for my IM . Quick reddit search and printed a weight guide for it . Used a laminator for the sheet and placed it on a wall close to my station . Mental block resolved 😅
I think the Hoist dumbbells are still the best. I have the small pair and the large pair even though I don’t have all the plates for them. The small pair comes with 2.5 lb plates the large ones are 5 lb plates. I think the quick change plate like Eisenlink is faster to adjust and better for adding or lowering weight. I only paid 200 for both sets used.
Thank you for referencing Hoist, whose weights I have used for many, many years. I had gotten curious, so I searched Hoist’s patents, finding what you had indicated. Hoist and IronMaster are based upon the same design. I must disagree with your “Calculus” reference, because determining what your weight is simple algebra.
Going to Eisenlinks Amazon page and being greeted with a amateurishly edited summary of the Eisenlink parts of this review was surprising. It wasnt there the last time I checked... the last time I watched this video.
@@GlucksGym There were several white label options available there for a while that were like 5/8ths the price of the eisenlinks. That price point made up for a lot of the design quirks.
I like Pepin HDs and would like to see a comparison.... I bought the handles no plates and am lucky enough to live close enough to a CAP barbell warehouse where they sell pancake plates for $1 a pound those 12.5 plates allow them to get to 175 in plates plus 9 pounds for the handles and screws anyone can hit marketplace and break down a pair of heavy prostyle dumbbells which I originally did to get a bunch of 10s. I like the knurl on the HD handles better than iron master's as it's really good knurl and a variety of diameters from 34.5 mm, 37mm, to 49mm...
I've been talking to Pepin for a bit but haven't been able to work with them yet. I've offered to pay for their stud I just think he's been incredibly busy. Would love to cover their stuff in the future.
@@GlucksGym David is very busy... I later ordered a second pair of handles so I can use my medium and long screws to the same time. Took months not because lack of stock because he's sending them out himself... The quality is amazing
These are not my jam. I much prefer a system that sits in a cradle. I have the REPxPEPIN adjustable dumbbells on preorder. I use powerblocks currently and really like them. Thanks so much for the great review.
5:08 Damn shame. It means that Ironmaster's 'Dumbbell to Barbell Adapters' won't work with Eisenlink dumbbells (and Zipro or other dumbbell brands that use the same base design). I originally misheard you and thought the Eisenlinks were smaller... such a pity. There are other adapters on the market, but Ironmasters are by far the best.
Exactly what I wanted to comment. That said, for a few months now Zipro's dumbbells have been out of stock and to complicate matters, Zipro's storefront is exclusively in Polish - thankfully auto translate exists. Someone else in this comment section mentioned this exact style of dumbbell exists in China as well under a different name - which probably means that all the rest are sourcing them from China with different branding. Apparently the Chinese version goes up to 260 lbs/each, somehow, but I expect those aren't up to either EU or US safety standards, otherwise it seems nuts they aren't being sold here - it would be a huge PR win to have the heaviest dumbbells on the market.
Off topic but can you please do a review on Major Fitness Adjustable Bench PLT01. i think it must be new as there isnt really any reviews about it but the price point is really making me intrigued. apparently has a 1300lb capacity and on sale for $220.
To not be able to drop a dumbell is snap city. That’s why most adjustable dumbells are expensive and not the best idea IMO, which is a good opinion because I’m a Dumbell.
I don't understand why you guys don't already have like 10 million subscribers by now. WTF? What's wrong with people??? Gosh, if you only knew how much of my equipment was purchased after watching your awesome reviews... Yes I blame you ! Ha LOL!!!
Can you do a review on the Kensui adjustabells. At a quick glance, I think the model is super innovative and very ideal for those with lots of plates and wanting to use those on dumbbells. However, they’re super light and idk if I can trust the screws in their handles at heavier weights.
Maybe I missed it in the video, but can you explain a bit more why the 2.5lb plates have to be placed as the outermost plates when loading the Eisenlinks? Do they not have the cut-out for the little safety screws to fit in like the 5lb plates do because they are too thin or something?
With either the Iron Master or Eisenlink, can you use standard 1" plates or 2" Olympic plates as well? Could make it easy to add 1.25lb plates to get 2.5lb increments! Also wondering if that may make it easier, faster, or cheaper to go heavy if you just get the cheapest base kit they offer and use your existing 10lb and/or 25lb plates or something if you want to go heavier (i.e. using it like any standard spin-lock plate-loaded handles but having the nice flat ends). Would also love to see a comparison between these and the Kensui AdjustaBells MAX metal handles which also have the screw-in pin design but are meant to be used with regular weight plates (well 28mm/1.1" or larger holed ones at least) and don't really have any quick-change mechanism. PS: Can't believe my comment was actually in the video! 😲Thanks for doing this review! So now I gotta ask... MAXUM Fitness SX2 all-in-one rack review coming anytime soon!?!?
@@path4061 Hmm good to know, thanks!! I wonder if that's an advantage for the Eisenlinks then since the normal screw-in peg may make it easier to use any standard plates (so long as their placed as the outermost plates if using with the included custom plates) compared to Iron Master's more unique quick-lock mechanism.
Heavy handle kit? I want just a plain shorter handle kit. Give me some negligible weight, hard plastid reducer half-shells to snap in & out, say in half inch increments. Seems every adjustable dumbbell manufacturer should include them, or at least offer. Maybe a market for Aperture Engineering.
5 lb per handle minimum balanced increment in weight is about two times too much. Nearly all adjustable dumbbells have this problem. Not worth buying in my opinion.
I actually talked to the owner of IM who designed these and that wasn't one of the reasons he listed interestingly enough but they is why Eisenlink added the screws and did away with the indent style of before.
thanks for fulfilling our requests to review the Eisenlink. Great review as always!
Thank you!

Review their kettlebells
Awesome review
Why can't you simply use 1 inch normal plates on the Ironmasters or Eisenlink??
I envision Gluck dipping these into something wearing that coat to test their float ability or something 😅
So many uses for that coat 😂
Great review
Heavy handle kit? I want just a plain shorter handle kit. Give me some negligible weight, hard plastid reducer half-shells to snap in & out, say in half inch increments. Seems every adjustable dumbbell manufacturer should include them, or at least offer. Maybe a market for Aperture Engineering.
$500 for up to 80lbs is an awfully good deal
Ironmaster actually licensed out their original design to hoist. So ironmasters is the orginator of this design , not hoist.
Ironmaster FTW!
Dr. Gluck needs to cut those sleeves off to make things official
Hahaha yes
Are the parts interchangeable?
No. Nothing is swappable between them.
@@GlucksGym got it, thanks!
Please check out the German Made EISENHAND Power Dumbells. I think they will beat den Eisenlinks.
darn right it should be durable. preach it!
😁 Changing the narrative one video at a time 😂
What kind of mats would you lay down on a 12X 12 room?
4'x6'x3/4" Horse stall mats
@@GlucksGym Tractor supply on my way.
@@GlucksGym Do those have a bad odor or is it hyped and not that bad?
I'm not sensitive too it and have had good luck. The garage probably helps though. I'm not trapped in a basement
A heavy handle plate kit for $159 (plus shipping?)? That's ridiculous... I've payed less for my two Powerblock Sport 24 including shipping.
Wish I had a reason to buy more adjustable dumbbells... Maybe I need to start a channel! 😂
Just keep dropping them after every set and you'll need new ones in no time!
Um the old standard spin lock look easier you can
I dropped a duece while you dropped them dumbbells 😂
These look interesting
5 lb per handle minimum balanced increment in weight is about two times too much.
Nearly all adjustable dumbbells have this problem. Not worth buying in my opinion.
❤
Fixed dumbbell wins
The reason Ironmaster changed their design is because if you didn't get them completely locked in the slotted plates could fall on your face.
I actually talked to the owner of IM who designed these and that wasn't one of the reasons he listed interestingly enough but they is why Eisenlink added the screws and did away with the indent style of before.
@@GlucksGym I don't imagine he would list that reason, due to liability reasons. But it was a common complaint on the bodybuilding forums.
@@plmn93 I should've emphasized the sarcasm in that interestingly 😂
