- Avebury Stone circle would have been one of the worlds most impressive prehistoric structures, forming part of the sacred landscape of what is now Wiltshire, England, an area that included Stone Henge, West Kennett Long Barrow and many smaller sites.
My mentor, Hamish Miller, loved Avebury, it was a significant stop in his travels across England when dowsing the Michael and Mary lines; a tale that unfolds in his co-authored book, “The Sun & the Serpent”.
The clip I am about to show you is from a Dutch TV programme made either in the late eighties or nineties and features Hamish being interviewed about earth energy, leylines and dowsing. Hamish and the presenter are first seen at the iconic mound of Glastonbury Tor and then the prehistoric UNESCO World Heritage site of Avebury Stone circle. Both these sites are excellent places to dowse for earth energy flows, as Hamish demonstrates to the seemingly incredulous presenter.
Its fantastic to have this archive footage here on my channel and for all Hamish fans, it’s a gem, as you will see.
For anybody new to dowsing earth energy it manages to encapsulate many of the key aspects that all experienced dowsers try to highlight to those starting out on exploring earth energy.
In describing Avebury as the Serpent temple that lay along the St Michael straight alignment Hamish was reflecting some of the work of author, Jean Michell in his book “The View over Atlantis” and makes reference also to his twelve years spent dowsing both the Michael and Mary earth energy lines.
All in all, this is a classic bit of Hamish Miller in action.

Thank you, Tim, for publishing this video. Earth energies are speaking louder to me, these days. In Holland, for the time being. Avebury is my favorite place with much magic in the air, during my first visit over 20 years ago. There's a kind and good natured energy around, contrary to what I experienced in Stonehenge, which feels heavy, and polluted in some way. Dark.
Now, that the UK border is open for non-vaxxers, without obstacles and lengthy procedures, since March 18, and the Dutch border since March 23rd, I'll be sure to hop on the ferry again, late summer.

Thanks for posting Tim. Lucky enough to have lived within easy travelling distance of Avebury and attended dowsing workshop run by Maria Wheatley on one of visits.
Whilst Stonehenge, magnificant as is, imposes, Avebury, inhabits. It feels more organically part of the landscape. Helped of course by unrestricted access and ability to freely connect with stones.
Yes completely agree, Paul. I was somewhat disappointed by stonehenge in that respect even when visiting with access to the stones themselves. But stonehenge is a curious site for sure.

Pretty impressive that he was able to dowse with gloves on. I have no reaction of the rods then.
I think its more to do with the subconscious belief system Sokratekk, I'm not sure that there is any reason why it would make a difference with or without gloves, just like some people believe they cant dowse if they are wearing Wellington boots. But having said that, I fully respect that for you it doesn't work. Its one of those wonderful peculiarities of this work.
I'm a big fan of Hamish. I've never met him, he passed away before I've had the chance. Every man has a "superpower" - mine is to spot genuineness. He had an abundance of this.

Hey Vojkan, There isnt much out there of Hamish that isnt already on the channel in some form. He didn't do a great deal of video work, if was before the internet in its current iteration. I started with him in 2003 and our first production went out on VHS as DVDs were new then :) !!!! I have now bought a DVCam player that I am trying to figure how to import rushes to share some more of whatever wisdom I have from him that isnt already on here. Stay tuned. In the meantime what you are looking for are simply these productions, which you may have seen already:

and a short interview in "Moments of Peace" on this channel as "the power of place" (2009)
Additionally, there is also a programme made by a welsh production company about him and Paul Broadhurst dowsing the Michael and Mary line" the story of which was told in his famous book, "The Sun & The Serpent" (available from Penwith Press). There is an interview with him in a programme made by Fountain International (date unknown) and a BBC Time Team episode in which he completely failed to dowse the key component of an archaeological dig and which he always felt was his greatest disappointment and pubic embarrassment. He could laugh at it in the end. Bless him.

A lovely video Tim Thanks for making this, it makes me think Hamish Miller would have been a good person for me to talk to, does his wife still continue his work, does she have a UA-cam channel or give talks? When Hamish talks about Balanced energy and the places that make you feel good it got me thinking, maybe one day there will be a map of all these natural feel good places for wellness. Hello Tom Glad you enjoyed it! No, Ba Miller doesn't do the same sort of public dowsing work that Hamish did. She enjoys a quiet spiritual life at the home they used to share together where she still hosts some celebrations of the turning of the year at the stone circle and Flower of life Hamish built on their land.
They built it for God, The Sun behind the sun. How else could you get all those participants over hundreds of years. The serpent and the egg is why they built it! It is all about going within - gettin in the mix with your opposite divine nos in the egg The egg with a serpent a spiral)--going through the process of love - becoming a Vitruvius LIGHT man with the female head on it as well and becoming God's vessel for His Design!
Yes these sacred sites are all about the inner universe
