Almost a year's worth of beautiful photographs in one walk. Nicely done.
I couldn't agree more!
Thanks Alan.
These videos just get better, and the personal insight and opinions are very welcome.
Glad you liked it Harry.
Really liking the walk and talk; your observations and advice. Perseverance pays off, trudging though the rain and all, and so does the planning. All of which you have shown today. Thanks for the video, Steve.
Thanks James. I’ve been far more successful this year thanks to carefully watching the weather.
Hiking and photography; what can be better. Great video! Thank you for sharing the scenery. Looking forward to the weather forecast video.
Thanks for watching!
Your hiking videos are so inspiring. Great use of that 20mm. This makes my day.
Thank you 😊
Many absolutely beautiful and striking images. And the 20mm lens already paid for itself! Cheers!
It has indeed 😊
Great weather and amazing pictures! Love the hike. I'd definitely enjoy hearing about how you predict the weather, Steve!
Thank you.
Very awesome walk Steve. The photographs really matched well the conditions you got. I thought the rambling discourse was appropriate and most enjoyable. Really a great outing.
Thanks Philip.
What a fantastic place!! Spectacular photos Steve especially the “rocky” ones 👌
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Wonderful video and terrific weather timing. Bang on
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Always enjoyable to watch Steve.
Thanks William.
Lovely mono work, Steve. Outstanding tonal ranges - well worth the hike.
Thanks Graham.
Great video and images as usual Steve. Can't believe it's not windy!
I know, it’s usually blowing a gale up there.
Great Video - I love the channel. Your approach to landscapes is exactly what I aspire to when I'm out. You've inspired me to load up my Voightlander Bessa II with some 120 Agfa Copex Rapid and take it with me while I walk through the woods by the bay. Thanks again.
Great to hear Steve, I hope your walk goes well.
And thanks to the magic of UA-cam we'll all be able to remember a nice walk in the hills...
You've certainly demonstrated, again, why we should get out of the house more! Any chance of a little more infra red work sometime?
Thanks David. There are more infrared captures in upcoming videos.
Спасибо. Thank you.
You are welcome Oleg.
Always excited when I see mountains in the thumbnail, lovely photos Steve! Helps me get out the door when the weather is poor:)
Hope you get out soon, we are finally getting some decent weather here.
Thanks for mentioning your name and pronunciation. I have some Welsh in me from a few generations ago.
Wonderful hike & very worth while photos. I live in Florida & we have a place called Mt Dora elevation 184 feet so the views aren't quite as good but Florida still has it's beauty in a different way.
It’s all about using what you have Ted, we get little sun so photographing the clouds and rain isn’t optional!
Brilliant video, as always Steve. Superb atmospheric images.
Glad you enjoyed it Peter.
That was fantastic.
Thank you.
as always really enjoy your videos
Glad you like them!
Incredible image at 16:02. Composition, light, texture, it all works. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you liked it Bryce.
Love the Lord of the Rings look shot ❤ Must admit I thought your surname was something comedic regarding onions! Great video man 👍🙄
😊
Lovely images especially at 7.50 (my fav), 11.46 and 13.09. The pictures coming out from BW film never ceases to amaze me. I love combining hiking with photography with my usual suspects being the 21, 50 and 90. And you're right, the many hours alone among nature is incredibly therapeutic. Peace of mind and having a camera is a bonus. Thanks
Thank you. I need to make note effort to use specific lenses while hiking, I’ve got a bit lazy 🙂
A really enjoyable video Steve - entertaining and informative with some terrific images. Your enthusiasm and enjoyment of the hills are tangible and inspiring - mountains seem to bring out your best photography. The time and effort you put in to create these excellent videos is appreciated.
Thanks David, it’s hard not to be inspired when out in the hills, they are magnificent.
I bought a Canon 5D Mark II infrared conversion some time ago for $295, which is a good price for getting a regular 5D Mark II and a great price for getting the conversion done. So double bonus. Another day when fortune smiled upon me. I have the Nikon 20mm f2.8 AF (Not D). They are a little cheaper now, I bought it some years ago. Still, they are cheaper than the AI-S lenses (though you could pound nails with one of those and the AF is plastic). On the plus side, it's as light as a fluff of cotton (well, a big fluff, maybe).
That’s a good deal on the Canon Dann, the conversion alone would cost that.
I could reach that vista easily!!!!!...... in a helicopter 😂 Great stuff Steve
😀
July 1 is Canada Day in Canada so you can have the day off.
😊
@@SteveONions well i did it i disconnected from the " X " twitter...i deleted all my 830 posts from Dec 25 2023...cool to have some free time for my.self...from 🏡 Canada...☺
Love how well those IR images turn out every time :-)
Excellent effort. Really like your images. Wondering what caused the extreme jagged rocks
Thanks Stephen. I believe the current appearance is due to the glacier that retreated from the area about 10,000 years ago during the last ice age. Just shows that things are in a constant state of change, even if it’s measured in many lifespans.
Great video lovely weather for a hike. Love the infrared images
Thank you.
What a great outing for you with wonderful photos as a result. The 20mm was well worth the weight. And delightful commentary, as always. It was interesting seeing you bundled up with a toque as we're supposed to get up to 40 degrees here today and even warmer later in the week.
We are finally getting some Summer weather at least, I don’t think it has been over 20 degrees for more than a couple of days so far.
Oh, my. I'd be happy to trade you for some of ours. We're supposed to be near 43 today with the chance of afternoon thunderstorms.
A beautiful place with a great landscape photographer.
Thank you 😊
As you pointed to the clag at 7:13 it brought back my last trip to Snowdon in March - that was exactly where I was in the clag on that day...lol. 7:55 that must be where everyone stands to look at Tryfan...your B Roll camera must be in my tripod holes..lol. I was dead jealous seeing the views you got as to see, I didnt get the view I went for - Castell y Gwynt. Great walk and a very enjoable watch. atb Alan
It’s definitely a case of careful timing Alan, I’m now picking routes that place me in the best spots at the right time. Often this means a boring early section but it pays off.
Just found your channel. Nice to see hiking and photography. I'm laid at the moment having had an ankle fusion. What's the camera over you use when on your harness clip?
Thanks Dave. I use disposable shower caps to cover my cameras in the rain, they are tiny when folded and the elastic makes it easy to keep on the camera.
Some landscapes on your photos must be from other planet (Mars maybe?). Greetings!
Thank you 😊
Hey Steve, I've been following you for quite some time. very, interesting and educational. Question, what printing paper do you use for your prints?
The images here are scans made using a digital camera from the original negative. I’d never have time to make darkroom versions and produce the videos 🙂
Lovely work mate, what film? XP2?
Yes XP2 Super 👍

Really well done as usual Steve. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it Rob.
