Thanks for the video and all the explanations. I was keeping my paddle on the SUP while learning, just in case. It did help me couple of times to go back safely when there was offshore wind.
I challenge anyone to find a better, clearer tutor than Gwen. He teaches with a lot of passion and you can see that he has a lot of experience. Thanks , you are number 1!
First and foremost, kudos to you for explaining how to do wing onpaddle board. It’s the most clear concise explanation I’ve ever heard. I will totally use my paddle board first. All these steps will help me concentrate on managing my kite at this time. Most of all any videos you made in the past is very interesting just to listen to your French accent!! It adds to the likeness of video. Thanks again.
This is a great video. Thanks for explaining how to stand up from a kneeling position. This is often not explained well with much detail. You explained it the best so far. So, thank you!

Great explanation. First attempt at wing SUP for me tomorrow in a cold lake in the middle of winter here in England. What's the recommended upper wind limit for a SUP with a wing? Thanks.
I very recently picked up my first wing. I thought I'd try it with my largest windsurf board. To my surprise I was only able to go downwind. I wasn't aware of positioning your weight further aft. On my next session I will try the techniques you covered in this video. Thank you. I'll be sure to check out your website. I might be interested in making a trip to FL for some wingfoil lessons. Would the weather conditions be better in October or March?
Thank you guys for this great tutorial. Btw, what wing size would you recommend for starting with the SUP/First foil under light wind conditions in south Florida?
For a SUP, the one we used in this video is the 10'6 and it's perfect to learn: wingfoilprocenter.com/products/imagine-surf-bula-sup-board?variant=46973254926640 For a first setup, we have a great deal on this package: wingfoilprocenter.com/products/afs-wing-foil-evolution-package?_pos=1&_psq=evolu&_ss=e&_v=1.0 Reach out to us through the website so we can help you pick the right size :)
I have a SEAMAX 10'8 SUP Board. It does not have a center fin, but it has 3 fins on the stern (the back of the board). Would that be enough to keep me going in a straight line, if I were to buy just a wing?
Hi, I'm 5'7", 80kg & 69 yrs old. I've done some kiteboarding but no foiling/winging. I just bought a 2022 5m Cabrinha Crosswing X3 Wing to get started. Now I'm looking at inflatable boards I have a small boat & live near a boat ramp. My thoughts are to get used to the wing possibly on the 180 liter Slingshot LTF V1, with its keel & twin fins included, then transition to a foil that I can practice on behind the boat. If that all works out I may then start looking at regular hard board. Thoughts & Recommendations??? Thanks!
@@DamienLeroyUA-cam - It did not work well at all in the ocean here on Kauai without a fin in the middle of the board. It was very frustrating day on my paddle board. I am better off to just get on my foil board and pay the dues.
This isn’t an end goal (that would be called Wing SUP). It is intended as a transitional skill building method. The school I am starting with teaches wing foiling in three stages. 1) Wake Foiling, learning to start and ride the foiling board, while being towed like a skier. 2) Wing SUP, practicing with the wing, on the larger, relatively more stable board, before combining the skills and 3) Wing Foiling.
One of the very best explanations of how to go upwind . Thanks a lot !

Thank you very much for this great tutorial. Lots of good information.

Very nicely done! I learned some things here today.
Awesome Mike thank you, we appreciate you.
Excellent work on this video guys!!!!
Thank you we love your product!
Great video, really nice explanation about weight distribution on board and how it affects direction. Nice job !!!👍
Awesome ! Very simple and clearly instruction. Just do it exactly then it will fly on water.
Excellent video

What should be the strength of the wind and the size of the wing in order to return to the starting point?

Thank you! I picked up a SUP setup and wing to start with this exactly. Baby steps up until I can graduate to foiling!
Thank you! Enjoy the learning process.
That is exactly how I started 3 years ago.
Awesome thank you for sharing.
Can I go up wind if my boards has one a mast? Do I have to install foil to be able to go up wind?

where can i find an add-on dagger fin for my current SUP? I know I saw one somewhere that straps on, but can't seem to find it now. Great work Gwen!

Green hat kiteboarding has a fun that straps on.
how fast can you go with just the sup and a centerfin? is it enjoyable or only good for learning the basics of wingfoiling?

square meters for a 150L board ?
Awesome video! as a beginner, can I use a 3.5 wing?
If even wind, yes for sure. In areas like Hood River a 3.5m is perfect for small-medium riders
thanks a lot!
@@DamienLeroyUA-cam is the speed of 3m/s enough?
For wind speed we usually talk in mph in the US so 17 mph or 15 knots for a 3.5m for small - medium rider
@@DamienLeroyUA-cam thanks!
mercy
what if I do not have a fin box in the middle of my SUP?
It works, but it just won't go up wind very well without a center fin
There are stap on or glue on fins out there to add to a sup

“Bone”, “burn”.. what was that?
Bad camera man😂
It won't be wing foiling, it will be paddle board sailing, as there is no "FOIL!"
