When I am laid in earth,
    May my wrongs create,
    No trouble in thy breast.
    Remember me!
    But ah! forget my fate!

Too bad you didn’t include the short recitative before the aria “Thy hand Belinda” it really belongs with the aria.

To Think , J.S. Bach was only a child, and Purcell { an Englishman } was producing quality like this.

And to think it was written for school girls.

This is sung by the role Dido who is usually played by a Soprano. The music is also a part of the usual repertoire of the countertenor.
The opera was staged with a Girls' School in 1688 but it might have been written for the royal court and staged beforehand. The staging in 1688 is however the earliest staging we know of. That the aria was written for school girls I find quite far fetched. It's written for a soprano. In this time works where seldomly written for specific people so to state that it was written for school girls I find a bit reductive.
