Jerec's actor really has a strong presence here. A pity most modern gamers will never know these kinds of stories. Also, his actor Christopher Neame played Marc Anthony once. Makes it all the more fitting that he's trying to be Emperor after Palpatine died. Also, he used to be a Jedi Master, so there would have been a time when he and Rahn could have been.......friends.
campy =/= bad. They're working with such limited time making their characters loud with their weirdness wasn't as bad as muted would have been. Sariss and Jerec are both strong performances in different ways, Sariss as a character was just evil in a much more coldly dispassionate way than all the others.
All the dark jedi opponents here represent a trial each that kyle faces spiritually.. the brothers of the sith- mind and body, others are yun the brash, the vengeful maw, the disciplined and quiet evil of sariss, bok’s maniacal uncontrollable and loud evil, then jerec, a combination of all of them.
Solaxe S Please, the FMV cutscenes are by far the best cutscenes in a video game. They actually look like real life, because you have actual actors like in a real movie, not animated in-game models like in every other game after it.
45:05 (It would be better if..) Jedi and Sith Voices: "For freeing us from our agony, we will impart the knowledge of our respective orders, be well and thank you!!" Skere Kaan and Lord Hoth: "We both will remain and guide you, young man! Use our knowledge well!!"
We now exist in an era where A-movie cast make television series; and yet the writing, integration, care and quality that went into the creation of "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight" (and a decent tip of the hat to Jean-Baptiste Zorg) is superior to the six-year-after-upload TWENTY-FIVE-YEAR-AFTER-GAME-RELEASE $30million/episode productions of The Walt Disney Corporation. I watched "Obi-Wan Kenobi". And then parts of "Rebels" and season 2 of "The Mandalorian". And I return here to watch Zorg's video. The plot flaws in "Rebels" are stomach churning. Tom Baker's voice failed to help. I spent "The Mandalorian" wishing someone would put a blaster-bolt through that birthing-egg-eating green fake Yoda freak. And I'm now going to watch Zorg's video through *A SECOND TIME* in preference to any of the other above-mentioned material. Thank you, @JeanBaptisteEmanuelZorg. Thank you.
Back when they used to call them dark jedi, which, to me, makes a heck of a lot more sense than sith. Sith is a species. Why did it have to be a term for a dark jedi as well? What was wrong with dark jedi? It was more descriptive and self explanatory.
I agree. Although wookieepedia might prove us wrong. They have every explanation out there even for the most stupidest or illogical star wars gimmicks. Nowadays I avoid SW altogether.
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg The things mod makers get up to lol. Wonder if you could fully mod jedi academy to turn it into Dark Forces II? That would be something to see.
this was the Real Star Wars, no Comsic Soulbounded Cybercrystals that make the Color of your Soul for the Light Saber. Is Only a Color and a Dark Univers with so many god and Evil Charakters. Not the New Diesyn PewPew Shit. I Miss the Old Times-
How did you get such great graphics? Please let me know. I didn't want to go back an play this again due to the terrible graphics. 22 years old you know...
The fights were done in Jedi Academy (the sequel to Jedi Knight II) with skins and levels made to resemble Jedi Knight. I remember playing with those mods years ago, it was really fun.
@@mr22guy Thanks! :) But how do I obtain Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II w. better quality as shown here? I purchased it on Steam but the video quality is just like 1997.... not like this.
Jedi Knight 1 graphics are what they are, can't improve it AFAIK. The clips in this video that appear to have better graphics than your Jedi Knight 1 are taken from Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (aka Jedi Knight 3 (aka Dark Forces IV... LOL)) by re-enacting the fights from the old games. You can't play the whole game that way, unless someone takes the time to recreate all the levels, NPCs, cut scenes, etc which would be an immense project.

I’d argue that the actress of sariss is the one bringing most to the table, and the least campy

I was looking exactly for a video like this, with cutscenes and fights. This is perfect and the quality is really great. Thank you very much!
I have watched this more than I will ever watch Disney Star Wars movies.
A game that actually feels like Star Wars. That type of powerful feeling is less and less with games and movies these days.
classic game..one of the best..and the cutscenes were such a thrilling reward at the end of each level
"Impressive. Most impressive."

Yes!
spot on analysis, friend
better than The Force Awakens
you should see an ophthalmologist
Well, visuals aren't everything.
You could take a piece of Gungan Shit and it would still be better than Force Awakens. That’s not saying much.

Oh come on... Raven Software made Outcast and Academy very life-like in the idtech 3 engine and I say it's aged really well.
I WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!!!
The _Jedi Academy_ parts were awesome! Kudos to you, Zorg! B)
22:20 - scale is a bit hard to grasp here. If the freighter is nearly a mile long, the mountainside and valley dwarfs the Grand Canyon!
So how come Sariss had the easiest duel?
Well, this is in a galaxy far, far away... so you get it.
10:03 is the coolest transition in all Star Wars
45:05 (It would be better if..)
Jedi and Sith Voices: "For freeing us from our agony, we will impart the knowledge of our respective orders, be well and thank you!!"
Skere Kaan and Lord Hoth: "We both will remain and guide you, young man! Use our knowledge well!!"
Good job. Thanks.
Sariss always scared me the most.
Can't believe it's been over 20 years...
Of course, the cast the've chosen is not a movie cast. But, to be honest, they did a realy good job!

Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg.
Excellent game and video, but i have one question, what is the music used in 30:27 to 32:52. Many Thanks
@@StrangeMusicInside Many Thanks for your answer and attention. Many thanks!
Still have the game and it's expansion: Mysteries of the Sith.
There's even a dark side ending that starts from the point where you are told to kill Jan
Mods you use for fighting parts , do you got the link for those?
Amazing!
AWESOME 👌

@@JeanBaptisteEmanuelZorg Well, hey, to each their own. If someone prefers sith, then, so be it. That's their choice.
This is pretty cool. Guessing the Jedi academy duals are done with mods?
yup
Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg The things mod makers get up to lol. Wonder if you could fully mod jedi academy to turn it into Dark Forces II? That would be something to see.
A discontinued total conversion exists: jkhub.org/files/file/1540-dark-forces-mod/
It's pretty impressive.
Oh I might have to download that sometime.

what with the twilek dude acting like smegol from lord of the rings?! also id prefer to see the original fight scenes, not modded ones.

More interesting than the sequel trilogy. No transgender hippies pulling the ropes.
