Had my T7 for nearly 2 years, agreed it not the fastest and does not have the most trick suspension etc. You have to ask yourself what you want it for. Its not a sports bike, its not a motocross bike it just does everything. I have had it nearly 2 years and feel this is the best all round adventure bike made to date. it is also has bulletproof reliability unlike a lot of other makes. Did 4,500 miles across Europe before lockdown with 2 weeks trail riding in the Pyrenees. 600 miles in on day @ 130kpm all day loaded with camping gear. it does it all very well.
    Cheers Mick

my himalayan has 30k camping kms(and a ton of low speed abuse on dirtbike trails). i imagine most modern engines will last with oil changes.

Same for me, that's why I bought it. It's a no bullshit bike. It has all it needs and nothing more. Sadly, with the updated 2023 version they already start of putting crap into it that no one really needs like smartphone connectivity and TFT. I want to ride a bike and not use it as a fucking phone to call people. Wtf is up with this Bullshit anyway? Get a ram mount and put your faggity fuck phone there. Gets me everytime...

I am actually about to switch from a Z900 to T7, and I am not intending to do any of the off-road stuff. I am 6´3 and wanted something more comfortable (not having my legs smushed) and with more sensible power (still love my Z900 though, but I can only have one bike and T7 fits my needs better). I actually planned on buying a Tracer 700, but to be honest, I was super disappointed with the test ride. It has the CP2 engine, but the tune is different, the rear brake is pure mush, by far the worst I have ever used, no feeling whatsoever, handlebars are too narrow (it feels cramped for me), the suspension is trash just like on the MT07... I know that Tracer should be the street-oriented bike and T7 the dirt-oriented bike, but for me, T7 is waaaay more fun on the street.

Once you learn this bike you see how great the engineering is both in balance and power. I learned a lean in trick on the turns and I have much more stability on a real curve. The lean and confidence of that turn with your upper body at 45 degrees and your hands pressing down on the grips. those forks and tire work so much better and you ride like a princess assassin.

    • @Hegworld
      @Hegworld  3 роки тому +1

Absolutely, it's worth trying. The upgrade from an xsr700 imo is the dirt capability without having to turn the xsr into a scrambler type. As a stranger on the internet, if I had an xsr700 already and didn't live somewhere that's like Tucson, I couldn't justify the upgrade personally. It'd be like buying a Daytona in North Dakota where there aren't any turns, or a Valkyrie when you live on miles of dirt road. It's possible and I've seen it done, but there are better options for the conditions present. Here, the T7 is perfect, lots of highway, lots of rural environments, mountains, canyons, trails, and the T7 does all of them.

Nice quality review, thanks for investing some time on it.
I really want this bike! I'm pretty much looking for something that's better than my KLR on and off road with more power at similar or lower weight. I think this bike covers all those "KLR on steroids" and i really like the look as well. I am an off road junkie and would probably stiffen up the suspension. I would consider this my "big" bike. I also have a 98 DR350 for long dirt rides and a 21 Beta 500rrs for play. I think the t7 definitely fills a void and would be an excuse to add a liter road bike later lol.

I have a Vstrom 650 and I consider this to be in the same category. Yes, the T700 is better off road, but the vstrom is way better off road than any of the sport bike options you mentioned. I do get about 300 miles per tankful. The Vstrom is exactly what you said the T700 is. It's not going to blow you away, but it has everything you need for adventure. Super reliable too. Also, I do get about 300 miles per tankful.

Doesn't matter which bike has the biggest engine, is best for roads, dirt, track, which is more powerful, is more technologic or anything else.
If the bike makes you dream, put a smile on your face whenever you see or ride it, then it's the best bike.

I have a klr650 and the bike does everything but it’s over weight and under powered. It bottoms out on any little “jump” and can’t really wheelie over any obstacle unless I’m low down in first gear. The T7 seems to fit all my needs to commute, ride on the weekends, and possibly do multiple hundreds of mile trips. My other option is a f800gs which also fits all the boxes but might be cheaper and more comfortable. What do you think? I mostly ride on road commuting but on the weekends I definitely hit the gravel roads and trails. Just bought a gps emergency communicator because I like to go way out by myself.

I ride a 2020 Goldwing Tour DCT now and I'm looking for an adventure bike to get out into nature more also. I plan on keeping my Wing also. What I looking for in an adventure bike is a low cost of ownership and reliability. I've no off road experience, well a very little when I was a kid, I'm 54 now, from all the reviews this is the one I'm leaning towards. Don't plan on very hard offroading and I'm sure I won't be able to use it to its fullest capabilities due to my own physical limitations. I'm curious though at 6'2" tall and 270lbs ( I'm working on getting it down and getting in better shape ) will this have enough nuts to enjoy with minor gear on board for a guy my size? I think I'd be mostly on trails and dirt roads, pretty easy stuff. I really like the bare bones little tech with this bike, low maintenance, and reported reliability. Don't wanna go smaller and look like a monkey fuckin a football , but also want something with enough balls to get me outa any trouble I might encounter. Any thoughts? Or insight?.. I enjoy your page.

I have a 2022 T7 and never been offroad but I love it :) I'm a little too short for it so if I want to touch with both feet, I'm tip toeing. The bike is top heavy, too tall for me, plenty fast for my riding ability and an absolute joy to ride. Love the low rpm pull, love the upright position on it, the sound, and even the fact that it's difficult for me to ride it :)
I'll get to do some offroad at some point .. it's just difficult to find in Ireland if you don't know where to go.

I bought the T7 & the Gen 3 KLR 650 months apart. I put 8000 miles + on both bikes in one summer. I wish I made a review and regret not doing it. I also had in my garage at the time was CRF 300L, CRF 250L , KLX 250S, KLX 230, (I sold the DRZ400S put 10K miles on it) that’s what started all the duel sport madness for me. I miss the Tenere 700, I only miss how comfortable the KLR was damn buzzy bike, but the Tenere is probably the smoothest best overall motorcycle I have ever owned. If you can afford two motorcycles, buy a CRF 250L or KLX250 and a T7. Forget the KLR…well until you’re pushing 50…you’ll love the KLR 650. Most comfortable slow, super capable 5 speed motorcycle. Well, you guys gotta know it was my dream to own all the motorcycles I dreamt about as a kid. That’s all I wanted in life. Own tons of motorcycles 😂. I originally was a sport bike guy. GSXR-600 but wish I rode the R6 before my GSXR. I just love motorcycles. Just get one damnit! Best advice I could give, buy it, ride it, sell it, buy a different one, ride it sell it and try all the ones you like. You will go back to the bike you loose sleep over. And that the T7 for me…

I actually have my deposit down on one and a VIN number supposedly the bike will be here in a week or two I got it because I want some off-road capability and I want to be able to travel some distances on the highway I don't think there's any other choice for a do it all bike.

And the T7 delivers what I call the widest capability of an adventure bike. Meaning it can do soo much. Name one terrain you think the T7 can’t handle and I’ll find multiple YT vids of someone doing it in that terrain. Where as other more common name ADV bikes tend to have significant hang ups like being too big or too small. And the ones that don’t have issues have a huge price tag (cough-KTM-cough).

if you like modding out a bike, the tenere..... is DEFF for you. I just spent like 4k of my crypto gains on just mods an i still have to get like a dampener, new tires, a wrap or graphics havent decided. But theres a huge after market, an modding a bike is like one of my personal fav parts of having them. And from what im told, the tenere is a perfect base to start with, you can put street tires on, you can put dirt tires on, you can get the heated grips if you do cold weather stuff, or long highway miles in the rain etc. so many options to make it how you want it. I have a ninja 650 (first bike) an thats super cozy, goes fast (i dont always go tripple digets but it cruises nice at 100, can deff go faster though and loses the power up there) for when i wanna zip around town or just have fun on the street. the tenere is more my bugout/motocamper than i can take the bags off of an rip around in the gravel an dirt, sliding that back tire out an not being to worried about dumping it. Because a few dents an scrapes on a tenere just means its being used as intended C:

I bought a Tracer 700 four years back and I'm glad I bought a 2022 versio of the Tenere last year as well. Can't go wrong with them. They are fun bikes with minimum electrical gadgets but this makes it reliable and you can actually repair a lot of stuff yourself. Bought a tester to let the ABS work so I can even bleed the ABS brakes. I weigh not much like 73kg and this is okay for this suspension. No need to upgrade it. I bought the Tenere as a street bike and even in that role it makes already more fun to ride then the Tracer 700 which is basically an improved street bike of the MT-07. Learning to wheelie on the Tenere is FUN.

I'm not a master of any trade and I'm content with that. I can service my own car without spending thousands on dealership, and even more in depth maintenance if needed. Plumbing issues in the house, electrical failures, drywall patch or a whole wall, no problem I can do that too. Old lady wants a new front door she knows I can handle that. Daughter wants to learn Spanish she knows I can teach her, son wants to learn Mandarin, we can learn together. Computers in the house getting slow I can fix that. And just for the sake of this I work in a tire shop so if you need your tires done hit me up. I call that versatility. Now take your ninja to the trail, good luck with that. Take your Harley to a sandy two track, you will hate it. Take your scooter to the highway, don't get run over. I'm sure u get the point by now.

Between debris, and dead animals on roads, then add road construction, black top transitioning to gravel, etc. I think the T7 makes for a smart choice. I don't have to travel for a half an hour to find a gravel, logging road, fire roads, or public land to ride on. It's all over. I like the idea of being able to cruise on the highway but also not being at a deficit if road conditions change.
