And even though clinically diagnosed and hospitalised at RPH cardiology ward. Could not get an excemption either. Very fucked up time
I lost the ability to pedal back in 2016 and was ONLY downhilling until a really good friend got me the Paradox Kinetics kit. I have been on one since September 2018 and now I have one on my Structure Cycleworks SCW-1 and it's been life changing. I also used to have a FUZZ named MIESHA and NS featured her on their website in 2016 I believe. My Fuzz weighed 32.5lbs and was a Dream Bike.
I only got an e bike after a serious heart condition from an injection back in 2021. But not having 10k to drop on a name brand, I opted for a chinese frame / motor combo. Dengfu e22 / Bafang ultra
Man I love the idea! Carrying the battery in a backpack makes the bike lighter? Than a normal ebike?.. It's still with you but the bike is free off extra weight I'd do that so bad
Hey Sam , hope you continue to enjoy your eeb . I built an old Orange 223 with a Bafang bbshd 1000w with 52v battery . Although it is a downhill bike it'll climb anything . Try for a 1 to 1 ratio [ i have 40 teeth front and 40 tooth first gear on my casette , 11 tooth 9th gear ] you will be able to climb a wall ! Mine will do about 2mph in first gear and power level 1 , 48mph in 9th gear and power level 9 . I also effectivley have 81 gears !!!
I've got exactly same setup as you with a 42t chainring and top speed is 35mph on throttle only, there is no way you are getting 48mph with that setup unless your wheel setting on the display is not right.
Figures aside, this I exactly what I've been mulling over with an old Blur lt or Nomad, but i was thinking hub drive, having read this about gearing........ Nice one guys!!
Bafang ultra destroys drivetrains as it is. Doubling that would only double the drivetrain destruction. When first set my e22 up, I got about 150kms out of the first cassette. The teeth literally began peeling away
@Ricardofromage In my case I went from a 12 spd e13 Helix cassete. Which lasted 150km. It is super light weight aluminium, so in hindsight, it was never a good choice for a hi power eMTB. The thinner 12spd, and soft aluminium just peels away under load. I then put a box prime 9 spd steel groupset on. And that lasted longer. I got approx 250-300km out of that. Again the cassete wore out the gears I used the most, and they began to slip under load. The cassette was steel, and with 9spd, had thicker gears. But the steel quality was low. Just junk steel, if they had of used a hi quality steel it probably would have been fine. I then bit the bullet and got a Kindernay VII internal gear hub. And that had alot of problems with the hydraulic sequnential shifting system initially. The kindernay chain tensioner also self destructed in no time aswell. So I put a reverse components tensioner on and it is reliable so far. The kindernay gear box itself is so far pretty reliable. Ive got over 500kms of hard eMTB on it now. The oil won't stay inside though. So you need to top it up every time you change tyres or even have the back wheel off. I do get some occasional skipping gears now in the kindernay, but only in the low gears. That was because I didn't realise all the oil leaked out before the first 500km service interval. So it got mashed up from that. I've snapped a few chain quick links aswell. But never snapped a chain itself. It's only the quick link joiners that blow. So keep a few of these in your riding kit. This might sound like very low KMs for e bike. But eMTB is alot harder on gear than commuter e bike. Commuter ebike is just accelerate on smooth ground and once at speed you cruising. EMTB is so much harder on gear. And I like to ride the bike hard too. Full power all day. Over 60 emtb strava koms on it aswell.
I have a gen 1 paradox kinetics on an old santa cruz nomad. Has brought me fun for years! mostly ride it in the snowmelt mixed conditions can power through any mud or snow! Really fun. Being able to shift without pedaling is really fun like a rally car.

Aircraft aluminum and titanium are far superior. Otherwise it's just a sales gimmick. High price plastic.
Don’t they make formula 1 cars, moto gp bikes and pretty much every bike racing World Cup cross country, enduro and downhill with carbon?
@@SamReynolds26 Yup, great for one or two races, then it's done. Turbo charger is great for extra power but shortening the life of the engine is the trade off. It's a trade off. I prefer things I can repair or maintain for decades. PS: our industrial revolution was made of steel, glass and other non toxic materials. We've been sold out and sold a bill of goods with a short expiration date. Plastic vs Glass, I'll take glass hands down, at least I can recycle it cheaper and create over and over again.
You can get ebike twist throttles. Get one of them on there 👌🏼😜 @SamReynolds26
Awesome I just don’t know which ones are comparable! Definitely need to get one
