I chanced across this...it makes sense to me the Maori warrior mentality would not only suit this kind of music but probably is the original precursor to it? There is no other Warrior in mans history other than the Maori who speaks of going to war against god and his angels in heaven. The action seen here with the crowd raising their hands above their heads making a fist before bringing them down and slapping their knees... This is representing the warrior reaching up to heaven and clenching or grabbing a hold of god and his angels and SLAMMING them down to the earth. Calling out to god and his angels this is what I will do to you!! ...Ano! Ano! Ano!...again and again and again ... This is a haka every Maori boy learns before he can be a man. Now days political correctness and pleasantries has watered down the true meaning of this haka along with the old people dying and taking the history them to the grave. We have our own proud history of beeing seafarers, and vikings..tradesmen and conqurors..its easy to relate to....and dancing and singing songs in common....I think the haka is fantastic, and the music is really good, a metal fan myself....I like Danish black and atmosferic..melodic too..and a strong sense of community.
