Rather than the lyrics are a big part of a song. And if u dont speak the language it's hard to relate or get that into it. But yes it's very Sepultura/Pantera style riffs.

What I love about this young band is they're honest, gritty, paying homage to their Maori forebears unironically, are metal af, AND pack tight three part harmonies. I'm reminded not only of Sepultura but of Crowded House. Keep going.

Mindblowing!!! 42 year old woman here, always been a metal head and these lads have gave me hope for the future of metal! I'd almost given up, their overwhelming respect for the Maori culture and language is breathtaking! My generation could learn a lot from these guys! This is how it's done!

The Maori language and history was literally on it's way to being forgotten and pushed a side. Who knows, in 10 years maori culture will actually be celebrated and looked up to thanks to kids like this instead of forgotten forever.

That was quite an experience. Their music may be simpler and more brutal than much of what I tend to listen to, but they do all the right things in impeccable timing to be very effective. I think this kind of music provides a needed catharsis and counterbalance to modern life and society.
I love how raw this is...no backing tracks, no fake shit, just three guys on stage performing raw music. Is it perfect? Of course not. But that's what makes it so good!!

Been listening to these guys for almost a year now and every new song I find is just as good as the last. they are becoming one of my new favorite bands!
Yeah they're fantastic. Saw them live in Canada last month opening for black label society. Fucking sick guys, talked to the lead guitarist for a couple minutes and helped him get to his merch booth lol.

I think these guys could be fucking huge if they stick to what they know. The mix of metal with Maori culture goes hand in hand seamlessly like it was meant to be. For a three piece band they sound like there's a lot more of them they're ready heavy ,they're still only young and already have a big stage presence.

So proud of these guys, I met them when they won battle of the bands in NZ, when they were young teens. They have done NZ a great honor with sharing our heritage and culture in their music. Im so stoked to be able to have shared the stage with them to now watch them on youtube doing NZ proud.
All three of the band members have great voices on top of supreme musical skills.

This.... this was honestly one of the best short sets ever to me. I love that they open with a Haka. 🤟 I have been intrigued by Māori since I first heard these guys, been doing research on the history and culture, next thing is learning to speak Māori.
