Koz needs his own channel. Seriously. Construction in all kinds of weather, a genuine guy that appreciates the craft as well as nature. Koz, it's time my man.
You're so industrious, Dustin! Build a camper/truck, build a cabin/home, build a premium YT channel that shows the beauty of your county to the world... no problem! I am so impressed by what a talented young man you are; and you do it all with humor and humility. Your family must be so proud of you. Thank you for taking us along on your journey.
My FAV playlist on Spotify is my DA list!! I write down all the artist each week and add them to it … if they aren’t already there!!! Always perfectly matched to the theme of each scene really let alone episode!!
After reading most of the comments, i cant think of anything to say that hasnt been said.. DUSTIN..Wonderfull things happen to incredible people, you have amassed a HUGE online family that have followed you on your adventures thru the years..what an adventure..great memories,a huge family, a New Home..Congratulations ..
Holy Moly, how you manage to do all that work while filming simultaneously is astounding. A house made with love becomes a home. Mike and Co. are adding the love to it with the gift of his expertise. Looking forward to seeing how things progress!
I hope you understand that you have people that don't know you personally but that still love you. I feel so connected to you through your videos, thank you every week for everything. I miss seeing Mick around, just maybe he'll stop by during one of your projects! Thanks Dustin
D, my Adventure Man, I'm so glad you have a place to call home! Dang ... That view is awesome, and the property is kickass! Lovin every adventure mate ❤
You are truly a genuinely kind hearted person in all that you do. The way you acknowledge others in your videos. Whether you are interviewing individuals about their lives and or the history of the area they live. Involving the locals and turning the spotlight on them truly shows how humble you are. We are truly blessed to have stumbled upon your channel a few years ago now and have enjoyed everything you bring to us. The history lessons and real life stories have always been amazing. Know that you have a viewer base that believes in you and your dreams. And is allowed to experience dreaming through your content. So thank you again and we can’t wait to continue this journey through your lens.❤
Dustin, one of the most beautiful things of your journey is when others see what you're doing and pitch in. It makes the blessing blow way past you. A home starting like this will be filled with joy.
Loving this project so much. This episode was over too soon. So happy to be a part of your team. Can’t wait to watch you start a fire in your wood stove eventually.
You guys seem like kindred spirits. You will soon have your own Castle in amongst some of the most beautiful scenery you could imagine. We lived on the water for 30 years, nothing like waking up to the kind of view and sounds you will have on the river.
Dustin I got a smile from ear to ear after watching this week's Saturday morning show and have to give a big shout out 'thank you Mike and helper for going all out giving from the heart ' helping out my great friend and with perfect timing as that Cyclone bomb storm devastated so much all up n down the coast and Vancouver Island! You really Rock as this is such a tremendous gift! Mahalo! Your place is looking so awesome buddy ! Next week can you show that view from the new windows upstairs of the river 💪 Really happy for you 😀 You truly deserve this ' Your Home ! 🏡 ❤
I was staying at a friends in north Seattle and had no power for about 2 days… that’s scary when your in the city lol Was happy to get home in southern W WA… PS… I shared your smile the whole video too 😉
I really enjoyed this episode , brings a lot of memories for me as a carpenter and always liked working out in the woods and remote places , thank you and it’s looking really good for you.
Good morning from the still dark and somewhat damp south Okanagan, thanks for the visual progress report sir. As a semi-old guy who drifted west off of a Saskatchewan farm first into construction, then cabinet and furniture making but pulling wrenches at home and work the entire time, allow me to send you a sincere tip of the hat for your work ethic and skills. Honestly it gives me hope for the next shift seeing folks like yourself who are not afraid to tackle new tasks and obstacles. All the best as we head into winter.
Sat morning 6am with coffee in hand and the destination adventure video, starts the weekend perfectly with lots of motivation. So many people rooting for you and enjoying the visual journey, Congrats young man! Well done!
Dustin: What a great view you have of the mighty Fraser! Who needs TV when that scene is so vast! What great friends you have to help with your build! Their experience is worth their weight in gold! Good things happen to good people! 👍
As per usual I spent the entire episode with a huge smile on my face & the occasional happy tears!!!! I cannot tell you how inspired I feel every Saturday after my DA fix!! It’s the only thing I DO NOT MISS every week!!! Your home is coming together beautifully!! It is an incredible slice of paradise!!! Mike & crew seemed like good people just like yourself! Love that you got in there right alongside them! I can tell you had some good men in your life to teach you how to use your hands!! Luckily I did too and can accomplish more than most women !! Feels good too!! You make me wish I was 30 years younger in so many ways 🤪. Again I wait until the adventure!! May you and yours be blessed abundantly!!! ❤❤❤
I just love it when you get knee deep in a project and so focused that it doesn't even seem like work. Then, at the end of the day you look at it and say wow, I really accomplished something! Cheers Dustin, you were in the zone!
Looks like things are coming together to do the build correct, and that is very important! This is a big investment in your future and putting in the effort today pays off more than you might realize years from now. Thanks to who you are, the kind of person you have become in life, it has provided so many gifts to you in return, that good people want to help you in your journeys. Thanks to Mike and his helper this week, your brother in law last week, and so many more along your path in life. Dustin you have a rare gift that is priceless. So glad I found this site as you inspire us with who you are and what you do! Thank you!
Sooooo excited for each new epidsode. Have been watching you from the start and you never disappoint! This is more than just a build. You are giving hope to a generation that may believe they can never afford a home.
Those extra windows on the top floor make such a difference! I like the gospel Mike preaches, glad you connected with him to get the bones right on this project 👍 coming on great
Very Happy for You! I learned residential construction as a trade in my 20's and 30's. Now in my 60's, for the first time, I am building my 650ft2 small dream home. One floor on grade, been a year still not done though that light at the end is getting brighter by the week. Cheers!
That defective water tank...the one filled with stuff...the cage can be used for firewood the plastic cut in half can be used for a winter greenhouse roof for raised garden beds....
@@LAStars-sratS Firstly it was a 'food grade' tote...secondly, as a 'cover' for frost...not to put soil in it...and finally, you do you...90% of all soils on the planet will have some sort of chemical residue....it is also reported that approx 98% of all humans have Glysophate residue with-in their cells....If you have ever bought fresh fruit, veggie's and or any processed foods...you are eating products with 'chemicals' in them....
Kos construction you are awesome for helping Dustin out! I live in Michigan and married to a carpenter but if I lived in BC I would hire you guys! lol! The place looks awesome!! 👏🏻 👍🏻😊
Makes me glad we bought raw land and started from scratch. Still working towards the dream 6 years later. We use steel too, Offgrid! FREEDOM, NO REGRETS, KEEP ON KEEP'IN ON & Git'er DONE!
Go back in time, he does many interviews with locals, great approach every time. My only complaint, I'm never ready when the end comes. This world needs so many more Dustin's! Great guy, great channel, enjoy!
That is Dustin's editorial style. Brilliant videos showing the landscape and people, never miss an episode, you must go back and watch some of his amazing videos, breathtaking.
I love youtube because the platform brings good people together. Dustin, you are appreciated for good nature in the destination adventures you share with us
Square and level is overrated; It helps all your marbles to stay organized in one corner. 😊 Don’t forget above the stairs storage ideas, and a door at the top,,, 1 it's a fire brake, 2 you can control the heat up there. A comfortable temperature downstairs will be 10 or more degrees upstairs.
Great friends lending a helping hand is priceless! That is going to be a gem. I wish I had the opportunity to have the funds to keep our family cabin in Ontario, because I would leave the states to live there off Lake Ontario for the rest of my life. Canada is beautiful! You got a gem there right next to the water! Peaceful nights sleep just listnening to that water flow will be amazing! Your doing a great job! 🎉🎉🎉
Looking good Dustin. Warms my heart to see folks that are willing to take time out and help folks out. Just wondering why you didn't extend the second floor out over your water tanks. Can't wait for the next episode. 👍👍👍👍👍🍻🍻
Great to see you building your home on the Fraser River. Hats off to you! We love to watch your adventures. It certainly reminds us of our adventure days and it brings back so many fond memories. We always liked having a home base to decompress after a long adventure.
Your channel with your high production values is certainly a treat to the senses. And the way that you tell stories it’s pleasure to the brain. Keep up the great work!
I am so excited for you. I am enjoying your project way more than I thought I would. Looking forward to the finished product. . Without a doubt, my favorite UA-cam channel. Rock on buddy.
It will be a nice house, if you are "normally" handy and dare to tackle things and you have an expert to ask, you can fix a lot more than you think It will be fun to see the house finished, what a location
Your doing really well on the rebuilding of the house keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing more of this on the home your an amazing person and you deserve a really nice home I wish I could be there with you and give you a hand.
Having bought and sold many of those tanks, I can tell you that that is corn syrup inside of their 😀 Boil up some hot water and add a bit of dish soap put in the tank near the valve ,you'll get the valve free in No time💪 congratulations on you new adventure
We enjoy watching your channel so much. We live on Quadra Island, but wishing it was closer so we could wire your off grid home for you😀 Let us know when your back in the neighborhood, we would love to show you around desolation sound. Thank you for your hard work taking the time to make these video's💪
Wooo hooo yes! its coming along ,so good to see some true human heart come threw into the build with help from good people. Just epic part of your journey your sharing with us ,and the world .prayers and blessings
Dustin you definetely found a legit contractor. Great dude helping you or you helping him whatever the case. Awesome that you take us along on this project thanks.....PEACE!
Please include the costs of the "donated" materials. It's not very realistic without those estimates. Additionally, how many hours are included. Because time = money. Love this. Just want a bit more reality and transparency. I get the labor in exchange for promotion. However, for those of us avidly watching we would definitely appreciate realistic cost breakouts. We built a Yurt 20 years ago and the entire structure was $35k. Thanks for providing the breakdowns.
I have one of those water tanks that I bought a metal spigot to replace the plastic one that will wear out quickly. Also good to elevate the bottom tank off floor to get water out easier. Congrats on this project, it will be even more amazing once completed. Magical spot 😊
Great job Dustin and kudos to Mike, what a great guy! You have a vision Dustin and we can now see it. I see lots of great down time enjoying your new home and sitting out on the deck enjoying the river views!
Koz needs his own channel. Seriously. Construction in all kinds of weather, a genuine guy that appreciates the craft as well as nature. Koz, it's time my man.
Indeed, he has incredible camera presence.
Agreed he was really great on camera.
Absolutely
Agreed!! He would start with a ready made audience as I’m sure many of us in the DA family would quickly become Koz subscribers!
You're so industrious, Dustin! Build a camper/truck, build a cabin/home, build a premium YT channel that shows the beauty of your county to the world... no problem! Gotta say, the audio backing is just perfect. Good choices of music, levels are spot on. Very tight editing all around. Don't think it isn't noticed!
I love that he gives credit to the artists too, not many channels do.
My FAV playlist on Spotify is my DA list!! I write down all the artist each week and add them to it … if they aren’t already there!!! Always perfectly matched to the theme of each scene really let alone episode!!
I like how you break down costs at the end of the video. It’s not necessary, but it’s interesting and valuable to know.
A serious injection of the better side of humanity
Those widows are going to shock you Dustin, they cut the sound unbelievably as well as keeping the heat in. Glad to see this was done.
The donation of roof material is an amazing guift🎉😊
The place is looking great. From being a dump to becoming a home . And to have Koz help you build is awesome. Looking forward to your next video.
After reading most of the comments, i cant think of anything to say that hasnt been said..

Loving this project so much. This episode was over too soon. So happy to be a part of your team. Can’t wait to watch you start a fire in your wood stove eventually.
Beautiful job with all your videos. Every sailor needs to hit a port now and then. Having a base camp is not a bad thing.
Lockup. It's all smooth sailing from here!
Time for a wood stove soon. lol

The cool thing about that property (besides the view) is that you’re on a bedrock bluff.
Can’t over emphasize how great that is.
Having friends Whether they be new Or whether they're old Sure makes life go by easier Good job Dustin Don't give up
I just love it when you get knee deep in a project and so focused that it doesn't even seem like work. Then, at the end of the day you look at it and say wow, I really accomplished something! Cheers Dustin, you were in the zone!
This is really fun watching Dustin building something for himself, a home. As usual, he makes even this an adventure

Wow what a transformation, love it ! Great video Dustin and looking forward to next videos !
So fantastic to see this coming together. It will be a home more than a house. I'm glad you could make the time to share the progress with us.

I included all of the material costs, but labour I can’t do because it will be different everywhere. I will try to be as accurate as possible tho. 😊
Mike is a mensch, a true dude!
