@@crypticscrutiny1153 oddly a good way to put it, yeah. Except if Terraria had half its content removed and was originally in Calamity instead. Frackin is a must have basically.
There isn’t just frackin you know there other wholesome mods to try (frackin is kind of a bundle of mods who where took from there dev with out permission)
Maybe in 2019 when there was hope for the future...but 2022, I wouldn't because this game is stuck in eternal unfinished sate and all you can do to remedy the issues is try your best to patch it up with mods...
It's unfortunate, because I wanted to like this game any play it all of the way through, but I always find myself getting so bored after completing the first boss level in the story mission.
Alpha and Beta were the best times. Before they started changing the story, cutting the unique Race Traits and made collection useless cause you can just print everything these days. Worst of all the balancing. And i dont mean the combat only, even how you could get your materials was made difficult but way more satisfiying depending on which material you searched for. Example: I used to be an GM on one of the most popular german servers in the Beta. We had sometimes events like PvP or even Build Tournaments, and the more rare or difficult the materials used to build those got special prices. I still remember to this day as someone build a Prison out of Cyber Bunker Stuff and Obsidian. For those who dont know, cyber bunkers were a rare mini biom which had furniture that nowhere else was otainable. And Obsidian, oh boi. Was the sturdiest Material in de- and construction. With the highest mining gear (Diamond Drill back then) it took exactly 13 Sec to get 4 Blocks of those things, and they had different colours too. After beta was finished the game changed drastic to the worse, devs promised things they never fufilled. Months long no sign of any updates. Then they changed the story to something no one asked for. Starbound Beta will have forever a place in my Survival Crafting lists but the devs just destroyed the community by their lazyness and literally ignoring the broader player audience.
Honestly yeah when the game finally released I was disappointed to see that half of the stuff from the beta and alpha was gone. The beta was better than the full release and that’s not nostalgia talking ether.
@@dexterthecat9580 To be honest the end of the beta, as also the death of our server. After that, many of our population left the game for their dissapointment.
terraria is a low-poly pixel game with an unexistent story (there is with the moon lord and stuff, but it's still very blur). But it has this fantasy like univers and it's pretty nice. as a mechanic lover, i personnaly choose starbound (but yeah. i'm not a person to judge what game is better and what game is horrible). there is something that i found pretty sad though is that there are different type of props, but most of them are just for decoration. It would be great if someone could made a mod that makes props something useful for your house/base (idea : installing a "house" area who got a comfort mechanisim. the level of comfort is changing by different factors : Heat : the base/house would have a heat level. If the area is too cold or too hot, you will regenerate less and even loosing hp Race relationned props : if you are a robot, every props related to this race will upgrade the number of hp you will gain air : in a space base, you have to get a machine that will give you the possiblity to breath. If the machine is not powerfull enough or you put enough ventilation in a room, you will die by suffocation That's all i have in mind. It maybe sound great, but the work behind is colossal. Plus, it will change the adventure game into a gestion game).
As someone with 500+ hours, no its not. I love it but it's not a good investment. Replaying it becomes more of a science or a slightly fun chore. The only thing that is fun anymore is mechs, but they take a backseat and you have to do all the other stuff first to progress.
In my opinion the game is perfectly fine as it is Kinda bothers me that people say it’s unplayable without them, like how? You have a procedurally generated universe with tons of content as it is It doesn’t ‘need’ anything Mods can be cool, but it’s rude to say it needs them and sucks without them 😒
its a pretty fun game till you reach endgame, the procedural illusion of content broke to me in that stage, and tbh, i dont find any good reason to replay it, the races could have been a reason but the gamethrough it isnt that different
It's amazing game. I bought it for my steam and definitely suggest to everyone who loves games like: Stardew Valley , Terraria or Minecraft. Very very simple survival game and it feels good as you learn the fundementals of it's survival crafting concept.
This game is worth it, the exploration is fun and building stuff is fun Like there is a mod that allows you to completely customize every bit of your ship and make a ship completely unique to you.
This is absolutely the best game ever, its beautiful, fun, the music is amazing, the bosses are cool, it is by far the best game ever, buy it now or else.
Although I'm not super wowed by this game, I can't say I completely hated this game. But yeah, this game is unfinished as hell. Each time I find some little specter of good, it's always underwhelming. And mods, thank god for those, can only make it so good before you are faced with the reality that this game is actually just slightly below meh. It sucks man because a sandbox game set in space has so, so much potential. The amount of weird and wacky stuff you can get away with is near limitless.

Without Frackin' Universe, the game feels so empty after one playthrough.
What's frackin universe
@@johncambarare7746 A very popular modpack (but it's a mod technically). I personally didn't really like it as it was too grindy.
So Frackin Universe is to Starbound what Calamity is to Terraria? 🤔

I have 500+ hours and just started frackin universe playthrough

I got FU before I beat the first boss. The weapons felt so weak I wasn’t really feeling it. So far FU feels really nice. The BYOS is really cool too.

The beta was awesome. I played for only a little while, but I was on it for 10 hours at a time with my friends.

terraria has no polys and has a story
fym "poly" its a 2d game, unless you mean poly as in the pixels
It's worth it, with mods
what mods?
@@joaaoandrade fracking universe is a good one to start with
I spent two years in this game😂😂
This game is made or broken by the moding community.

The game might be worth it if it's on sale and if you don't have a lot of games to play.
I just bought this game a few days ago for around $5 usd; I was playing normal but started an FU play through to add some more stuff.
Modded Starbound is the best part of the game so I bought it for a Ultra Modded Starbound

Still no Xbox release. what a joke.
I've seen so many of my favourite youtubers play it for years now, I'm thinking about buying it now that it's on sale
Do it, it's well worth it.
I love this game
It's a great game. Definitely worth the money. I still play it form time to time.
Looks awful like Terriea...so I guess I'd like it I loved Terriea
Worh to buy? Yes.
Is that so hard to say?
I bought dat shi a year ago still worth it
This game is worth it, the exploration is fun and building stuff is fun
Like there is a mod that allows you to completely customize every bit of your ship and make a ship completely unique to you.
I'm kinda depressed the PS4 version isn't out yet and it has been 10 years since the trailer came out for it
Bruh, the grading system is so American.
Haha yeah, this was still early on my journey. I have swapped to a 1-10 system now.

this game is the only game that got me slapped my headphones out of my head cuz i thought there was a bug
regards to it's catching monsters machenic, starbound was ripped off by Palworld.

It sucks sooo much that it is so dead...
Modding community is active, people still play. It's not dead, man.
Dead? The modding scene is still very active. Abandoned is more appropriate in this case.
It's not for any console yet but soon I'll be
no
Low budget terraria
Starbound costs more than Terraria lol
