@@bsaaCarter20Like a true Bene Gesserit, he’s showing the way for his audience. I’ve noticed a lot of things in Part 1 have been mirrored or foreshadowed for part 2; for example, the very first line and shot in part 1 with Chani saying “my planet Arrakis is so beautiful when the sun is low” was repeated in Part 2 when she talks with Paul, implying Part 1’s opening scene is a vision by Paul or Chani.
@@stupidfanboyphyour WELL AKSHUALLY is not amusing. Yes, the bagpipe sounds are electric guitar but the effect is that of bagpipes. And cool ones at that. Being all “ceci n’est pas une bagpipe” about it doesn’t make you look cool.
This is the only scene we see Atreides soldiers in their full uniform - Piter de Vries (if I spelled his name correctly) was probably right when telling the Sardaukar that the Atreides legions are the finest in the Imperium.
If Villeneuve sticks to the books, we won’t see Muad’Dib’s holy war. At best there’ll be a montage explaining what happened alongside the opening narration. The second book, Dune Messiah, picked up twelve years after the first book and after the Holy War is winding down. And makes it abundantly clear that Paul was not supposed to be seen as a hero in the first book by having Paul himself state the death toll. “Statistics: at a conservative estimate, I’ve killed sixty-one billion, sterilised ninety planets, completely demoralised five hundred others. I’ve wiped out the followers of forty religions…” Dune Messiah mostly follows the fallout of the war, Paul’s guilt over it, the conspiracies aiming to eliminate him, and Paul’s full realisation that prescience is a prison.
I don't know what was worse for the Fremen. On the one hand, House Harkonnen hunted them and slaughtered them. On the other hand, House Atreides plays the bagpipes
And yet still worked wonders in his role. Hilarious to think both Javier Bardem and Josh Brolin already worked together on set in No Country for Old Men.
Sure, bombs are so symbolic...🙄 So ''deep'' to love images of bomb and destruction... You haven't seen/heard real bombs in your life so you can sit there and pretend that it's a ''symbolic imagery'' with some profound meaning. Feeling special now?

It's a heighliner from the space guild. It's indeed a giant ship that carries smaller ships. Their navigators need spice to navigate through the space. That's the reason why spice is so critical for the space guild. Funfact: in the scene where the reverend mother arrives at the orbit of Calladan for the Gom Jabbar the ship flies thorugh the heighliner. If you look at this scene exactly you can see the heighliner is an "artificial" wormhole.
started watching when it came out, fell asleep, watched it finally days ago, didnt love or like it but def didnt like the ending. luvd the music though
cap! Dune 2 exceeds the first one on so many levels it is not even close. It is literally better rated by fans, critics and haters on every review platform. And don't get me wrong I love the first dune, it is literally an all time great sci-fi movie to me, but it is not better than Dune part 2 in any way.(Scale, Scope, world building, pacing, acting performances, cinematography, action, payoff etc). In fact I would argue Part 2 makes part 1 better since it was half a story... Sorry for the long text but your take is so brain dead it's annoying!
“My lungs taste the air of Time, Blown past falling sands”
This scene always gives me goosebumps
The officer that says “shields” is Lanville, gladiatorial victim of Feyd in Part Two.
Great catch!!!
He's also the stunt coordinator for both movies if I'm not mistaken?
Yes and he also closed the big heat doors an arraakeen as they stand on the balcony
I KNEW it but thank you for confirming. Denis has been planting seeds since day 1

The Bagpipes in the cinema gave me goosebumps.
Its a distorted electric guitar mimicking a bagpipe tho.

For me it was the throat singing in part 2. But I'll wait til sum says it was actually midi piano synths and not throat singing.
Gotta love Gurney reading and quoting from the Orange Catholic Bible.

There are a few in full armour except for helmets during the staircase fight scene
WE ARE SARDAUKAR. THE EMPEROR'S BLADE. THOSE WHO STANDS AGAINST US, FALL.
The duke is in a battle outfit, his son - in ceremonial, duke's concubine - in a fashion dress. What a show!

As its written!

First? There will be more?
Pity we did not get to see the damage the Atreides army are capable of inflicting. Would have loved to see more of them in action.
I wish that there were more Atreides survivors in the second part
The Fremen hearing bagpipes: What animal are they torturing to produce such a sound?
As Hans Zimmer said: "whenever you have a goat and a piece of wood, the goat better watch out"
A guitar

Alright, now do a compilation of Dune 2 on how Stilgar went comically fanboy mode with Lisan Al Gaib 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I love the fact the Ships looks like Bombs being dropped at the planet. I want symbolism in my symbolism :D
They also look like chess pieces ,symbolism for the political game going on.

The only thing that doesn't feel right with the second movie was the lack of Tufir's appearance. I hope the third movie will show us more.

One of the best music, but not part of official OST, why ? :-(
It was. Check “House Atreides”
@@dukeofglasgow9354 Actually only from Sketchbook, not from the "standard" OST album. And as it is "sketch" it sounds different.
You fought well, Atreides.
Can someone explain the giant tube ship in Dune terms? Is it just a giant ship that carries smaller ships?
It’s a Highliner. You can compare it to some megastructure to warp space for interstellar travel.
Этот корабль представляет из себя червоточину. В первом фильме вы можете это увидеть

No, this is not run by Warner Brothers, just some random marketing company hired by them.
