Interesting. It is always scary doing something like this for the first time. Especially with using hazardous fuels. I've never even seen a fueling station like that before. Glad you got it figured out safely. Have a great day.
Hey Dave and Sue, another great video and an interesting video showing us filling the motorhome with LPG, something i have no idea about so it was actually insightful to watch! I'm glad you managed to work through it, Sue sounds like she's been watching lots of videos bless her. A great and interesting video! :o xx
Thanks so much Alessa. Yep Sue watched a few vids as did I. We were pretty nervous to be honest!! And the “whoosh” as you remove the nozzle is nerve wracking!! 😃😃 Our first time and we’re glad we got it over with. Hope you and Brett are doing well 👍👍👍
Ha yes Em, we were both a bit nervous! The “whoosh” when you take the nozzle out is a rather disconcerting 😃😃 Yes, apparently that garage is out again now - our closest at the moment is a 50 mile round trip! 🤦🏻♂️ Hope you two are having a good week. 👍👍
Hello Dave and Sue, yes I would be nervous too Sue, it’s the sound of it. I am sure you will get used to doing it eventually. Take care and safe travels x Julie and Tony x
Gosh it was nerve wracking Julie. We have one exchangeable bottle and one refillable. We haven’t really used the exchangeable one yet. But on the refilling there’s a really unnerving “whoosh” as you take out the bayonet fitting. At least we’ve done it now!! 😃😃
Yikes, a fire at the gas station would definitely be scary and I would not want to be that camper! I would have been at a complete loss as to how to refill the tank. It was a relief to see the pump finally reading. That final puff would definitely freak me out every time! Great tutorial guys!
Thanks Donna, yes it was nerve wracking beforehand and definitely when the “whoosh” went off! 😃. We think we may have been the first ones to use that pump since the fire. We saw some film of that and it was very bad! But at least we’ve done it now 🎉🎉 Have a lovely weekend 👍👍
Cheers Philip - it was a bit nerve wracking but it seemed easier than we thought in the end. The “whoosh” when you take out the nozzle is a bit disconcerting!! 😃😃 Hope you’re having a good week 👍👍👍
That was a bit of an adventure Dave. I'd be worried that I couldn't get to an LPG station that was working (much like an EV). Interesting video, thanks for sharing. Best wishes, Rob
Thanks mate. Yes it’s been a struggle to find one open - after we filled up here, the station is now showing out of order again!! Oh well, at least we got over the initial worry of filling up!!
Happy Monday Dave and Sue and thanks for a technical movie, but still fun to watch the first time you tank with LPG. It is this feeling on not knowing for sure if you are doing it the right way:) It is easier with petrol, but when you get the hang of it it is better and more practical way to top up:) I used to have bottles of LPG at the cabin that had to be replaces or topped up, but not I have electricity and that works well. But that is not an option in an RV:) Have a great week! Ant
A pretty nerve wracking experience Ant 😃. Our first time, and that garage had only recently opened after a big fire caused by a Motorhome filling with LPG. But it was all fine and now we know how to do it 👍
@@ArcticNatureExperiences apparently trying to fill a non fill able canister using a dodgy adaptor! A really big fire it’s been closed for months 🤦🏻♂️
Dave I never realised you could fill your LPG at a petrol station. Things have come on, I always used to have to manually change bottles when it ran out. 😂 All the best, Ivor
Ha yes. We didn’t either 😃😃. We have two gas bottles - one is refillable and the other is exchangeable. A very nerve wracking experience. Glad we’ve got it done Ivor. Phew.
I had no idea that LPG so difficult. Who knew it could be such an adventure at the garage. That was a weird release, and yes, if you didn't know it would do that, you'd be scared.
Ha thanks DeAnna. Yes we were both a bit nervous. We think we may have been the first people to fill up there since a big fire caused by a Motorhomer filling up using the wrong connection. The “whoosh” at the end is unnerving!! 😃
Well, that's something you wouldn't be doing here as one needs to be licensed to fill with LPG in this part of the world. It can be quite a search as once found, you have to hope that the person with the license is there to fill you up. Always got a little kick with that "whoosh" at the end!! lol You did awesome!!
Gosh didn’t know that Bruce. Can totally understand why seeing as that garage had only just opened after a Motorhome fire caused by someone trying to fill with the wrong adaptor. The “whoosh” is definitely disconcerting!! 😃
I use the Auto gas app as an alternative to your app. The initial connection is pressurising the connection between the pump and refillable bottle, unless the pump sees a proper connection then it won't start pumping LPG. I have a problem with my local Morrison's as the pump nozzle is worn out, So I can't always refill my Safefill Bottles. Unfortunately the management company that manages LPG for Morrisons is due to remove LPG pumps from there forecourt sometime this year.
Ah, that’s a useful app to know - hadn’t seen that before - cheers Keven. 👍 Yes, I realised what I was doing wrong when we watched it back, at least we’ve done it now 👍👍🎉🎉 I knew Morrisons were considering stopping selling it, shame as it’s our nearest station by far!! LPG definitely getting more difficult to source. Have a great weekend and thanks for watching 👍👍👍
Everyday is a school day. Never knew motors could take LPG. Alot of folk have that in the village to heat their homes. Nae gas central heating in oor auld village. 😉
Nor did we mate 😃.We use the LPG for cooking and heating if we don’t have Electric Hook Up. Nerve wracking filling it up for the first time. That garage has only just opened after a Motorhomer set fire to it filling up with LPG. 😨😨
Hi Victor. We use the LPG for cooking mainly, but also for heating if we don’t have an electric hook up. Electric heating is more efficient and less expensive so we only use LPG for heating vary rarely 👍👍👍 The van is a Diesel engine 👍
Interesting. It is always scary doing something like this for the first time. Especially with using hazardous fuels. I've never even seen a fueling station like that before. Glad you got it figured out safely. Have a great day.
Thanks Steve - yep it was a bit nerve wracking - we had watched vids on how to do it, but nothing like trying it for the first time! 😃
Even though we have filled up with LPG a few times this is a great share . And we are going to get the apt Thanks for sharing
Cheers Al. Yes, the app is really useful I think.
Especially with LPG seemingly becoming scarcer.
Have a great weekend 👍👍👍
Thanks for this - just what I needed to see
Cheers Martin. Hope you found it useful 👍👍. A bit nerve wracking as first timers! But it was fine.
