when i do it it does work but it also just selects singular verticies, how do i make it so it selects faces?

@sciburger8000 While in edit mode in the top left next to the dropdown to switch between modes. To the right of the dropdown there are 3 buttons to choose either "Vertex", "Edge", or "Face" select.
Alternatively you can hit 1, 2, or 3 to switch to the respective select mode.
