Purchased the Black gloss Carbon, 100% Fantastic Helmet! The airflow is amazing, love my other helmet SHOEI RF14 with the American flag however this helmet imho is worth the $1100 after taxes price tag.
Funny you rave about the lining. That is probably the only thing I dislike about my new R10. Its no where near as comfy and soft as my old Aria RX7. Track days where you take on/off your helmet all day gets too abrasive and starts to hurt my face. But I did find a solution and bought a cool weather helmet under liner.
I think this helmet wears a bit small. I usually wear xl and had the same issue. I have a good dealer and he exhanged it for a 2xl and I don’t get the same issue on the face. It’s still tight enough and fits great. Might not be a solution for you as everyone has a different shaped head and face but getting the larger size cured the problem for me.
Big ears say wear a skull cap to avoid earritation. Otherwise feels pretty comfortable. Speaker pocket placement isn't great for elephant ear people like meself. Vent plug is a bit silly, but I guess it's a racing helmet thing instead of having a sliding vent cover, just take it out and keep it in the helmet bag until a cooler season. The lock kinda sucks, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Eh, who cares about swapping shields/visors? Especially after transitions become available. Just be careful and pay attention, I guess. The "professional helmet" writing on my silver graphics variant is obnoxious. The airflow is pretty great, espefially compared to my rf-1400 which is a bit quieter, not that loud either compared to my old arai or something like bell race star dlx. My sensitive eyes wish the smoked visor was darker, maybe a pinlock would help a bit, was going to save it for thw transitions shield when that comes eventually. Crown fit adjustment doesn't seem to make much of a difference for me, expected something more drastic perhaps. Overall quality and fit/finish are somewhat underwhelming for the price, but the design and functionality seem to be pretty good.
Nice vid. Answered my biggest question which is about the noise. Went from a Shoei RF-1200 to an X-14 and the noise was very noticeable even with earplugs but especially while recording with a gopro. Hearing that it’s similar to the RF-1400 for noise is enticing.
It is definitely louder than rf-1400 , although not as loud as my quantum-x was, but also has much better airflow, rf-1400 is suffocating if chin curtain is installed
Almost ready to pull trigger on a white one, found a black race spoiler out of England on Ebay lol... I require photochromatic shield coming from a 2014 Bell Carbon Star w transitions lens. Ive messed with the visor mechanism at Revzilla here in Costa Mesa (Socal) and it SUCKS to deal with (it was tinted) and I imagine a clear/transitions is easier to see to stab those pins. The other thing is that lock on the front middle. Gonna take some getting used too. I might just keep mine cracked open 1/8". There are literally zero videos about the photo chromatic Shield I guess nobody wants to pay for it. They come Standard on the Bells....i would totally get a Bell again if they had normal detents for visor position. Their magnetic chin straps have gotten better. Mine comes off and sucks to reattach w gloves once riding...id rather have normal snap honestly
So those photochromic lenses I actually don't like all that much they don't get dark enough for me. I have it on my shoei and I won't get another for my R10. But I saw Revilla has some.
Just ordered My R10...I actually run an Arai xd4 ..with vsior removed..best airflow Arai Offers...hope this is as good or better ...it gets hot in Chico
So I can't wear Arai, they pinch my temples so I can't help you there. Now it is similar to shoei in size and fit. So a medium in a shoei is probably a medium in this. Same headshape as well.
@@CaliMotoTV Like what? That helmet is $1000+ and is Made in China while the competition is Made in Japan and costs half that with the same certifications and tech. This is a total ripoff and Alpinestars should be ashamed.
After comparing it side by side to a shoei, its clearly not the best. It's more like 3rd tier. The vents felt cheap, and dont get me started on the front vent plug. 😅

Totally agree! Enjoy the helmet

Interesting, I haven't sweat nearly enough to have experienced that! Thanks for the personal experience

So far using the liner works great. My ears don't fold and earplugs don't fallout

@KentPhillips yea I thought it would have been louder but nope!

Gets hot in AZ! But it flows so well!

Where did you order from? Looks sold out everywhere

How does the fit compare to Arai Corsair x or Shoei X-1400? I wear a medium in both of those.

no prob setting up a sena in this helmet?
From others that have done it, no. I won't be putting anything on this helmet.
I’m inbetween sizes of a L and XL. What do I do?
You might be able to get an xl and then build the internals to match your head size
That not helmet book guidelines its "bible" 😅 awesome video bro ✌️ hello from Malaysia.. I'm still love my Arai RX7X & XD
Thank you!
Whats better the R10 or the Pista Gp?
I think that comes down to you really. I can't say if the pista is better because I haven't had the chance to test one out.
The European market's Shoie X-SPR PRO (not the USA X15) is up there with them, if not better.
Shoei X15 is the best ❤
It's good, but this is better. But to each their own
Own both serious X15 better
@inson1219 ooohhh! Nice. So what makes it better? Honestly curious on your take of the helmets
Can you elaborate why? @inson1219

What size is this bro?
Large
@@CaliMotoTV I’m a large size. Should I size up? I heard they run abit small
I wear large and bought a large, you'll need to try one on to see.
Nothing with "Made in China" written on it will ever be the best.

Arai❤
I like them, unfortunately they don't fit my head shape.
@@CaliMotoTVthey have three different shapes on offer depending on the helmet model! Can vary a bit by model as well.

Having ridden with both I felt it was better.
Best on the planet ……
LS2 Advant X CARBON
Cool helmet, but it isn't in the same league as the x15, agv, Arai, or this one. A KYT, x-lite, or similar would be a good comparison though.
What a boring video
Hey thanks for watching😆
