- During my Birthday Live request stream, a member of our community tricked me into playing one of my favorite songs. Obviously, I have heard this song, but my wife happened to be with me and experienced Nightwishe's masterpiece Ghost Love Score. This is our un-cut live reaction. I think I might take her through the whole catalog if there is interest.

Nice to see your comment here Gabriel, I haven't watched Nightwish reactions for some time now, I was busy but like any drug you will come back to it after a while and so did I. I just love the music and I love when people literally get their eyes and ears opened with somethin special like Nightwish. It takes a while to fully understand the entire greatness of Nightwish's music. You need put away your preconceptions...

Jukka needs to get a shout out!! I never hear anything about his drumming but he KILLS it on this song. His transitions are seamless and he's playing like a madman throughout the song, especially the outro section!!!

I've forgotten how many times I've watched this video since 2013. I try to watch it with newbie uploaders who haven't watched it. Always a treat to see their eyes bug out when Floor starts cranking up her powerful voice!
I saw Nightwish for the first time at the end of September in 2012 in Salt Lake City and had Kamelot as their touring partner. I made the drive from the Seattle area to meet my then-girlfriend so that we could attend the show together. TBH, I was more of a Kamelot fan and didn't know too much about Nightwish but had really liked what I had previously heard.
Annette was the singer for Nightwish at the Salt Lake City show.
The next day I had to drive back to Washington state (where I was based in the Army) and decided to see Nightwish and Kamelot in Seattle two days later. When Nightwish came onstage in Seattle I did a bit of a double take and thought to myself "I do believe this is a different singer than two nights ago."
And it was Floor. And it was still a great show.
A little later on I had read about what had transpired within the band and their change in vocalists (and had subsequently seen the documentary). I find it quite a big deal (for myself) that, among the fans of the Nightwish Army (not counting tour personnel), that I may be one of a very few, if not the only one, to have seen Annette's last show and Floor's first show only two days later.
I will always say that I do love them both!
I saw them at march 2012 in Joensuu. It was 2nd best concert in my life. For me Taikatalvi is very important as Marco's voice is magical. I understand why they don't play it example in US but it have good lyrics and its lovely song :'D I have seen them many times and it made me sad to see them live 2021 without Marco, but I really love Floor too. I have seen her backstage and she is giant woman with giant heart :)
That's awesome you saw both of those shows. I was at the Denver concert (when Annette was sick and Elize sang in her stead, the documentary show). It was definitely unique.
@@tink5188 I attended my first Nightwish concert in Denver in 2014. The band asked the audience to see how many had attended the 2012 concert and about half of them had.

Nightwish Army UK Division new recruit here reporting for duty. I'd never heard of either Nightwish or Floor until around 6 months ago after deciding to see what all the fuss is about after hearing so much about them from a work colleague and OMG, blown away and now I'm buried deep down the Nightwish rabbit hole and never want to resurface whilst absorbing everything from the Tarja, Annette and Floor eras. All are great but Floor for me has it all. All of the Nightwish constituent parts are phenomenal making possible the experience that we all see, hear and feel when we watch and listen to them. I'm Finnish and can't do Estonian, but there are quite a bit of similarities between our languages. So, "Kummitus" is "Ghost" both in Finnish and in Estonian, and I believe "Armastus" is "Love" in Estonian. "Partituur" (Estonian) and "Partituuri" in Finnish means sheet music or "Score". So, there you have it :-)
Edit: ...and obviously "Öösoov" means Nightwish. "Yö" is Night in Finnish and "Öö" the same in Estonian. "Soov" is wish or desire etc. in Estonian , whereas in Finnish there's a different word - "Toive" - for it

We do have "armas" in Finnish too. Armas = love, dear (noun, adjective, also a male name), it's just an oldish expression. Funny thing is .. if we were to derive a verb from it, it would be armastaa, and a noun derived from that would be armastus.

Having seen a lot of these Ghost Love Score reactions, I thought I'd try to watch them all. Then Google told me there were over 1500! Think that says it all about this Band, this Singer, this Song and this Performance. AND this devoted audience.
I almost teared up when I saw you had an emotional feeling towards the end. This never gets old, can't wait for December to finally see them live after postponed twice.

Nightwish Army here, just popped here to say, go a deep dive, I haven't watched reaction videos for awhile. But it's always good to come back to someone experiencing Nightwish. It's the best experience.
Also live they are phenomenal I've had the luck to witness all 3 vocalists in my time as a fan.
And Floor is by far the most versatile and imo the best.and I like both the others.

I heard GLS two years ago for the first time. Since then I listened hundreds of times to the reactions. Never get enough of that. This musical artwork completely changed my musical taste. And Floor is without a doubt the best female singer of this era!

I had of course seen the title before I clicked on this video, so probably that helped me with the Estonian title, but as a Dutch speaker, I noticed the last word was very similar to the Dutch word partituur, which would be score in English.
I unfortunately haven't seen Nightwish live with Floor yet, but have seen them with Tarja and Annette, and have seen Floor with After Forever, but if things go as planned, the postponed show in Dublin will allow me to finally see them in November. I definitely hope this song will be on the setlist.

Yesss… i’m a Nightwish fan since 20 years ago, in Europe they have quite a following, this album is my favorite, and Floor is just perfect, if I remember well this was one of the first concerts with her as vocalist, the fandom was divided Anette/ Tarja/ Floor. They were amazing too but for me Floor just suits better my taste!!

I think because of guys and ladies, like you, are making the band more and more popular here in the US. When they were touring here in the US not too long ago, they performed in front of Sold Out shows everywhere!
I have sent a bunch of emails to Circuit of the America's race track to try to get the to book Nightwish for the Formula 1 Race here in Austin, Texas! They sell out every single year, close to 120,000 people are in the stands, and even more fill up the hills surrounding the course..like General Admission. There is also 2 NASCAR Races and MotoG motorcycle racing at COTA. The NASCAR races also had huge crowds for both races.

I consider myself fortunate that I got to see Floor perform with Nightwish back in October 2012, she had only been with the band for two weeks, replacing the last singer that got kicked out mid tour. The day I got the tickets in the mail was the day the split was announced, but I was so excited to see Floor, since I was familiar with her earlier work in After Forever. Ghost Love Score hadn't been performed live since 2009, but since Floor knew the song they added it back to the set and I got to hear only the fourth time she'd ever done it in front of an audience. Had no idea I was witnessing musical history at the time, I just knew it was incredible. The way she works a crowd is just amazing, I have loved all of the singers of Nightwish but she is by far my favorite (with Marco being a very close second)

The band is Finnish. Tuomas is a genius, a metal Mozart. Troy you will see sometimes is British and Floor is Dutch. It brings something new on a next level. Like in the old days when they experimented with Rock. Two songs come to mind. Nina Hagen - Naturträne live and Focus - Hocus Pocus live in the USA at the late show or something.
Tuomas is ok, not even close to a genius. It's just not that modern pop shit most people are used to. People need a proper horizon again. 200 years ago, musicians would have wiped the floor with todays musicians. And most musicians from asia wipe the floor with modern western musicians.
It doesn't matter how many times I see this performance, or how many reactions I watch, this song gives me chills every time.

Fun fact: Estonian and Finnish are closely related. There are various minority languages around Finland. The next related language is Hungarian. Both come from the Urals, are not related to the other languages in Europe and are correspondingly difficult for Europeans to learn. Even after 10 years, Floor only masters the basics. But it is sufficient for the usual interview. She lives in Sweden and her swedish is probably much better because swedish and dutch are related.
Yep. You did your homework. Though I also read that some characteristics of Uralic spread over the Nordic arenas giving a uniqueness to the germanics that also incorporated it into what developed as Russ, along with its variants.
Lets not forget that she is MARRIED to the drummer in Sabaton!! It blew my mind. Nightwish is where it all started for me when it comes to metal. Mostly because of the softness of it and musical numbers that are epic and then later I could go on to listen to more heavy stuff. Yeah, Nightwish can be heavy too, but not in that way. I hated Growling as a child, now I can handle it and can listen to other bands.
But later on in my teens I were introduced to Sabaton, my bestfriend at the time brought me to their concert in this tiny concert area in 2012 and I have loved them ever since.
Then I figured out that Floor and Hannes were married and I just love that crossover. WOULD LOVE for them to actually tour together or something. Sabaton did play WITH Apocalyptica and Amaranthe one time and I just ... wow.
Hungarian is not exactly "next related" European language. They are most numeorus in this language family. There are Finno-Ugric nations living in European part of Russian Federation whose language is much more closely related to Finnish and Estonian. Saami, Karelians, Veps, Izhorians and Votes living closer, but there are also Mordvian, Mari, Komi, Udmurt, Khanty and Mansi people who speak related languages.

@@freyatilly I don't know and I can't imagine that Finnish had a significant influence on the other languages. The Finns were not conquerors and did not culturally shape their neighbors. The Finns are not a role model.

I watched this whole concert and, considering Floor was relatively new, the set was pretty flawless. Fell in love with Floor straight away.
welcome to the fantastic symphonic metal universe of Nightwish Band, their live performances are some of the things that come so close to epic that they get to be mythical and of course Floor Jansen, queen of the stage and goddess of music, she can sing anything in any musical style she wants (WARNING! her voice, her stage presence, her charisma, in one word: her "spell" is highly addictive).
this concert (wacken 2013) is incredibly epic and deserves to be watched and reacted entirely, song by song, in particular I suggest these three songs: "song of myself", "storytime" and "ever dream"
this performance of "ghost love score" is one of the three best performances of the nightwish band, together with "the poet and the pendulum" from 2015 concert at the london wembley arena and "the greatest show on earth" from 2015 concert in tampere - finland (actually there is a fourth best performance: "dead boy's poem" from the 2018 concert in buenos aires).
I've been fan well over 20 years! Nightwish is one of my absolute fav bands all time! This is one of my top songs ever as well! Floor, there is no words!!

I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of this song.
I don't speak Estonian but my mother tongue is Finnish and I'd assume "Öösoov" is literally "night wish" (in Finnish night is written as "yö") and "kummitusarmastuse" is "ghost love" because word "kummitus" in Finnish mean ghost. And the "partituur" is supposed to be score in music, similar to Finnish "partituuri". I think that might be translation error, though. The word "partituuri" in Finnish means the music sheets for an orchestra which I think is called "sheet music" or orchestra arrangement in English. The "score" in GLS has meaning of "musical piece" instead of "sheet music".
In english it is "musical score". In the narrower sense, music is a detailed writing of the parts of all musical instruments in a musical work on superimposed sheet music. Score is one of the schemes of a musical structure. But eventually, if we could catch Tuomas and ask him, even then I doubt he will tell us the full idea behind that title. 😅
@@rpgp6065 I have understood that Tuomas doesn't want to explain titles nor the lyrics. He has one idea that he originally thought but his thinking seems to be that there are no wrong interpretations because everybody feels the music a bit different.
He didn't even want to explain the repetation marks in the middle of "Human :||: Nature". My guess is that's meant to be read as "human, human nature, nature" but I don't expect to ever hear the official explanation.

Pretty cool that such an old performance is still in high demand. Floor's voice has changed a lot since then. Getting older is such a curse to all singers. But she still sounds pretty good. Thay are a great band.
The song ever dream was what made me fall in love with the band. Amaranth was my ex girlfriend ring tone. End of all hope is also a good one. The genre I haven't seen anyone react to is which house blvck ceiling or clepsydra.
8 was there 8n 2013 when this Musical masterpiece happened to be Sung.... This was 9ne of the most Epic Moments in my Festival career... Next to Stagediving at a Metallica concert

This clip was from a German festival, they played the same piece in Tampere, Finland year earlier for rehearsal, and the final was in London Wembley music arena. The show of all times...and imagine: Mr. Richard Dawkins was there to end the show with his words. That is really something to see!!!
