People have pointed out that Shanks isn’t doing THAT badly, he was just hungover (and decided to drink some more despite that *because* he wants to celebrate Luffy’s success)… Me, I will say that Shanks left because he has important things to do; he cares for Luffy but he can’t stay. He also could not make Luffy into the pirate he wants to be, Luffy had to do it his own way. That’s why he accepted that he wasn’t ready and would be his own Captain, which he could not do under Shanks. Yeah, absentee parents are an inherent problem which stories need to use at times; how well that justifies itself varies by the story, the character, the audience taking it in. But Yasopp the Great is definitely one even *fans* aren’t certain about; he’s got a bit of his own story that you’ll hopefully learn eventually, but whether that excuses him isn’t for anyone else to say (although Usopp in the live action is more obviously hurt by him). He’s not Van Hohenheim, that’s for sure (and even Hohenheim is a character who knows his actions hurt his sons even if he knows it was necessary to save their lives, too; accepting him as their father was important for both Ed and Al along with accepting he had hurt them). The Marines have corruption within them, but as the One Piece world stands you can’t simply do away with them; people like Garp and his man Bogard, people like Bellemére who adopted Nojiko and Nami, people like Coby and Helmeppo are there to use what power they can to do right by the civilians of the world and punishing what evil they can (both fellow Marine and pirate alike). The World Government… that’s a whole beast you’re nowhere near ready for but in time you will. Meanwhile, Luffy and his crew will fulfill their dreams while doing good along the way (either by accident or on purpose, just by being there). There’s a dangerous world out there, but there’s good things too and people who will always fight for it.
5:51 Either she didn't want anyone to risk their life by trying to help her, or she wanted them to hate her because she hated herself for working for the pirate who killed her mother.
Going on this adventure with you guys has been incredible I love how close you got to the characters. Really hope this isn't the last One Piece we get from you guys. We Are! Also Shanks is doing just fine, so fine in fact he can take a day off to drink and party with a mighty warlord of the sea. Also also Garps full name is Monkey D Garp in the original series.
canonically (or at least according to the creator of OP, Oda) Luffy is brazilian Nami is swedish Zoro is japanese Sanji is french and Usopp is just african (no specific country)
I think drinking two days in a row isn't really a "mentally not doing well" kind of thing. People go on two day drinking sprees on vacation no problem, because it's fun:P
All we know is that season 2 is coming, still not sure when. But Oda himself announced it, and asked for our patience. Said that to him it seemed that the Straw Hats would need a doctor soon. That's all I'm saying.
Can we get them to watch the anime finale to sabaody archipelago (the last episode)??? It's such a strong emotional and dramatic moment! They're not gonna experience it within the next 10 years if the live adaptation ever makes it that far so I don't see any harm except giving them such intrigue and wonder at the events that happen there!
Happy you enjoyed it ❤ Luffy’s family is a bit of a mystery still, but we’ll probably meet another member of his family in the next season hopefully. I recommend watching the UA-cam video “The Breathtaking World of One Piece” by Strawhat V. It’s spoiler free and shows you the world/locations/landscapes of One Piece from the anime…how magical it is…you can smell adventure while watching it 😊
Its a madeup world, but that's what their nationality is based of: Luffy is Brazilian, Usop is South African, Zoro is Japanese, Nami is Sweden and Sanji is indeed French.
I TOTALLY endorse watching the anime, but you'd prefer (for your mental well-being) to watch four episodes at a time. That would be around 15 minutes for each episode without the intro and outro song, so roughly the same as a single Netflix show. The anime is so rich and full of the same boundless joy as the live action, but you don't have to wait for it to come out! Don't worry that there's so many episodes, be grateful there are and they're all at your fingertips!
@LMReactions, 34:31 There's a huge hint regarding Shanks and Mihawk's relationship during their discussion--"I'm not in the mood for a dual today, hawk eyes..." Shanks is Mihawk's rival! You saw how much of a bad ass Mihawk is, but we haven't really seen what Shanks can do. We were given hints of what he can do, but if he's a rival of one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea then he must be very powerful. We shouldn't forget why Garp was put on this case, as well. He was informed that a pirate wearing a straw hat attacked Shell's Town and stole a map to the Grand Line. Garp was expecting to go up against [Shanks], but was pleasantly surprised when Koby revealed that the straw hat pirate was his own grandson Luffy! The pirate Koby befriends is named Helmeppo, by the way =)
After i finished this show I went straight to the anime on Netflix. I'm around episode 150. I don't think ill ever watch the whole thing but im looking forward to seeing what they do with the next live action season.
if the anime itself is too daunting have you considered doing some mini reactions comparing anime vs live actions scenes? some stuff is just so emotional, like nami leaving her house for the last time before joining the crew
Well, The anime is actually not as long as it seems. The episodes are too short. In one hour you can easily see 6 episodes more or less (if you skip the intro, the summary, and the outro) and sometimes there are flashbacks of previous episodes that you can skip if you remember the scenes. My dad actually saw the whole thing in 4 months. So yeah, is not as impossible as it seems. And I swear, it's totally worth it
If you girls don't feel like watching the anime because it's 1000+ episodes (which you should 'cause it's totally worth it), there's a new adaptation of the manga coming out. It's going to be a seasonal anime, instead of weekly, which means they gonna trim a lot to move the plot faster and so it's gonna tell the story in a lot less episodes. It's also gonna have a bit of a different artstyle and probably better animation consistenly, so maybe when it comes out you could react to that version instead of the og.
@@Nik-md4to watching long things takes them too long. For example Hunter x Hunter isn't even 200 eps and it's taking them like two years to watch it. That's why they wouldn't watch One Piece anime right now, but if they get the opportunity to get a new ep every week, having to wait for them, and then having like an entire year free in between season, where they can take the time to watch other stuff, they'll definitely do better with that option, that's why it's recommended for them.
Imagine there’s 1100+ episodes and it’s soo good that Netflix made a live action version and keep in mind that it keeps getting better and better every arc tell me. What anime/series gets better after 1100 ep and you don’t want it to end name one lol
Well, the 1000 Episodes are exactly the awesome thing, get mindblown every 70 episode, crying every 50 Episodes, and give you a Taste of the real Problems in the world, including powerful statements where you didn't even thought about like that. And in the la they compensate the it a lot, next to the anime is a lot better in many different ways, but One Piece is a large world, so you can never experience the full feeling in just watching the liveaction (even though it is very good too, but it's not the real Story of One Piece, because the original one is a lot more complicated than you can imagine, that's also a reason why they had to simplify that a bit in the liveaction). And it sounds a bit vague, but this are real Facts, which a lot of long time watcher would agree with me (for the understanding, i watch one piece now since 15 years, and it still blows my mind, even though i know what i should expect from Odas writing ^^' ). But however, in my Opinion you should overthink again if you start the Anime, because the numbers talks for themselves, and you will know as you might continue ^^ . BUt of course it's just an advise, next to the fact i don't even know if oyu read the comments ^^' But in accordance to your video, Sanji is indead leaned on French people, thats why he cooks a lot, and names his Abilities after French Dishes ^^, actually every strawhat has acertain cultural backround in accordance to Oda , Luffy - Brazil, Zoro - Japan, Usopp - Africa, Sanji - French, Nami - Sweden for now!
Also, I'm super happy you two enjoyed this show. I've been following you two for yearrrrssss, and just recently (like 2 months ago) started watching your HxH reactions :) You should consider watching the One Piece anime *up until* the live action. What could it hurt? Just stop once you are caught up to the live action, until the second season. I, as well as probably every other person that exists, will agree in saying that the anime is so soooooo much better than the live action. Although I admit that the live action was pretty good. I liked Sanji and Nami in the live action, but the other characters, the motivations, and the story as a whole? Not amazing, compared to the anime. But live your life! Don't be coerced by fans, like myself, to do something you don't want to. Just consider it ;)
Do you guys wanna try watching the anime up to only ep 45?? It's only covers until the end of the LA S1 East Blue Saga. I mean, it might be worth a try? It's not too big of a commitment compared to the 1000+ episodes. The anime is SO different enough (and better) so people do definitely want to see reactions of it 😊
@@maxpower2480 Uhm... ep45 is where the S1 ended... But East Blue ends in ep61. Ep 46-47 is the cover/side story technically NOT included in the live action. Completely skipped since Buggy and Alvida already met in the end of S1 Ep 48-53 is loguetown, 54-61 is filler, and ep 62 is the official next Saga.
@@golden_zebra Exactly, them meeting is in the Netflix show, which means Episode 47 marks the end of the live action. They contain nothing the LA is going to adapt in S2 and their conclusion is very much part of it. Seems pretty straightforward to me. You didn't tell them to skip some episodes of the Baratie-Arc, did you?
@@golden_zebra It honestly shouldn't be hard to grasp: Different version of the conclusion of 46-47 is in the live action, and nothing relevant up to episode 47 is going to be in a future season. Episode 48 however contains content that is likely to be in season 2. Therefore episode 47 marks the end of the first season of the live action, not episode 45 like you said. For that to be true it absolutely doesn't matter that the majority of their content isn't covered in the live action and I didn't get why that was your response. So I gave Baratie Arc as an example to help you understand. I absolutely don't care how far they watch, if at all. I care, however, slightly about misinformation, so I chose to correct the bit you were spreading. The time I had to put in so far vastly exeeds the amount of shits I give, though, so if you don't get it at this point, enjoy being wrong I guess.
"who are his parent ? " Just watch the anime :p . Semi-joke aside , unless they "pull a Garp" and switch things around , revealing stuff way earlier (which i doubt with the way they struggled to convince the author Oda about Garp) , a lot of your questions won't be answered for years in the Live Action . All i'll say , is that the way you enjoy the characters and world building in HxH , One piece animated would be a good fit for you guys , if you get past the fear/struggle over the amount of episodes . you should at least try and see how you feel with the 47-48 first episodes , the parts covered by the Live Action
His parent has been introduced already in the anime and the fact that shanks said he could take mihawk on means that shanks is on mihawk's level if not higher
Even after only 8 episodes of Live Action you got the feeling of a Shanks-Scene. Great reaction as always. So sad the Anime is too long for you but understandable. Though I would always recommend to start it. Nobody regrets that decision and it is a experience you will never forget and that you can't even imagine right now. But when you don't watch the Anime we can just hope, that the Live Actions keeps being this good and will be succesful long enough to cover the whole story that is not even finished yet. This is what makes this so insane.
Honestly, with how you're saying "we want Hunter x Hunter to be longer" I think you'd be very happy to hit like episode 400 of One Piece and still have over half the show to go :)

15:11 Oda sensei said in a SBS if Sanji existied in the real world, he'll be french
Their journey has only just begun...
"Shanks isn't doing too well" I love Lola 😂
Not gon lie Netflix got me with that April fools prank on one peace piece
canonically (or at least according to the creator of OP, Oda)
Luffy is brazilian
Nami is swedish
Zoro is japanese
Sanji is french
and Usopp is just african (no specific country)
oh yeah, and nezumi is japanese for rat, so captain nezumi is captain rat lol
The best part is you don't have to wait to keep going with the story. 1000+ episodes are just there waiting for you
I’m glad Nami is your favorite too, that’s why my cat’s named Nami! ❤😂
Cat Burglar lol
The one pirate show that I get to watch with all 3 of my kids❤
I think drinking two days in a row isn't really a "mentally not doing well" kind of thing. People go on two day drinking sprees on vacation no problem, because it's fun:P
日本のファンです!おふたりの葬送のフリーレンのリアクションが見たいです!
He already had the hat when we saw the Garp flashback so it takes place after Shanks left
All we know is that season 2 is coming, still not sure when. But Oda himself announced it, and asked for our patience. Said that to him it seemed that the Straw Hats would need a doctor soon.
That's all I'm saying.
Real pirates like their rum at all hours of the day, even the wee ones.
If you loved Nami then you are gonna ADORE a certain future archeologist 💮🤠
The Demon Child! As soon as Oda announced that Season 2 was confirmed, the first thing I thought of was her!
I will pray for whoever is cast as her.
Nami🧡👑>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>R😴😴😌
It is time for a "The Breath Taking World Of One Piece".
28:58 The one with the dreadlocks yes
The show started with Luffy in a barrel, and it ended with Luffy and its crew on the barrel
Helm is the German word for helmet btw. I believe Helmeppo is named like that because of the weird haircut
33:57 shanks is an emperor. Above the warlords
Happy you enjoyed it ❤
Luffy’s family is a bit of a mystery still, but we’ll probably meet another member of his family in the next season hopefully.
"Who are you?"
One Smokey boy.
32:56 LMAO, if he is drunk then everything is going well for him
I really enjoyed the LA but anime version is totally recommended, im currently in Wano Arc and i love this show.
Did the live action make you start the anime or did you start it before ?
@@QuavoGotFame i recommend to my friend to watch the LA and now he is on wano too lol
@@ggx7905 and the anime is way better than the live action too 😂😂
@@QuavoGotFame both are good actually!
@@ggx7905 definitely but the statement still stands 😂 anime way better lol
I TOTALLY endorse watching the anime, but you'd prefer (for your mental well-being) to watch four episodes at a time.
That would be around 15 minutes for each episode without the intro and outro song, so roughly the same as a single Netflix show.
The anime is so rich and full of the same boundless joy as the live action, but you don't have to wait for it to come out!
Don't worry that there's so many episodes, be grateful there are and they're all at your fingertips!
Shanks, "I am never drinking again."
Mihawk, "Luffy has a bounty."
Shanks, "LETS DO THIS!!!!!"
Mihawke knows that Luffy was thhe guy that Shanks talked about because he reconized his hat that Shanks used.
33:02 do you think just because he’s drinking he is not doing well like what if that was the case then why do bars exist?
Shanks life is going as well as it could be. Pirates drink a lot lol he just hungover as he states
@LMReactions,
34:31 There's a huge hint regarding Shanks and Mihawk's relationship during their discussion--"I'm not in the mood for a dual today, hawk eyes..."
Shanks is Mihawk's rival!
The pirate Koby befriends is named Helmeppo, by the way =)
did you mean "Garp was expecting to go up against Shanks" ?
@@rinkusan978 I did indeed. Thank you.
Luckily, they are gonna do a remake of the anime, removing all the filler episodes and improving the animation of most of the episodes in the middle
"I'm going on a fucking adventure" - Luffy
After i finished this show I went straight to the anime on Netflix. I'm around episode 150. I don't think ill ever watch the whole thing but im looking forward to seeing what they do with the next live action season.
Did you skip the non canon episodes? From 131-143
Bro it gets so much better, I'm on ep 438 and it's absolutely amazing
@@lutherholayeahme7449 nope i watched straight through
if the anime itself is too daunting have you considered doing some mini reactions comparing anime vs live actions scenes? some stuff is just so emotional, like nami leaving her house for the last time before joining the crew
That adaptation will take years before coming out and will start from the beginning. Watching current anime is way better.
@@jrlombardi5251For long anime its best to watch 2 episodes per day at the very minimum.
I can't wait. There's no update though
Anyone else instinctively grab for their phone every time one of their phone buzzes during the video?
Guys, you don't need to watch the whole anime
Watch until you caught up with what the live action adapted
Shanks: Appears
Lola: Throws pillow
Luffy wants to be King of the Pirates...because he likes pirates.
Imagine there’s 1100+ episodes and it’s soo good that Netflix made a live action version and keep in mind that it keeps getting better and better every arc tell me. What anime/series gets better after 1100 ep and you don’t want it to end name one lol
Shanks is a … well you will know in the future
I prefer if you don't watch the anime. Everyone wants you to watch but i think if don't know anything it would be more exciting to watch season 2
Aww, Usopp's first murder
BUt of course it's just an advise, next to the fact i don't even know if oyu read the comments ^^'
But in accordance to your video, Sanji is indead leaned on French people, thats why he cooks a lot, and names his Abilities after French Dishes ^^, actually every strawhat has acertain cultural backround in accordance to Oda , Luffy - Brazil, Zoro - Japan, Usopp - Africa, Sanji - French, Nami - Sweden for now!
In the anime you actually know more about Luffy's childhood util 500 episodes, more or less😂
Shanks is a Pirate☠️ Drinking too much is part of the job. I promise you, he's fine 😅
Girls, Shanks is fine. He is just a pirate who likes to drink. He always has been this way
bRUHHH... Girls where is 1x04 - 1x07? are they got copyrighted? i can"t find it. oh man really like your reaction 😭
Just consider it ;)
You got a long way to go and all of your questions will be answered, that’s atleast what I keep telling myself at episode 1100
Err about Shanks...He's Just Fine 😂😂. Just hangovered. Actually that man is stronger than it looks (way way way waaaaaaay more stronger 👀👀🔥🔥)
I feel like Sanji when it comes to Lola - MARRY ME
Btw and also fyi, in case you were wondering the anime does pretty much everything better and some things a lot better. (Hint)
You shouldn't they Shanks drinking too literally, they are pirates after all.
You know why shanks hangover because shanks living the best of his life😂😂 no spoiler
Do you guys wanna try watching the anime up to only ep 45?? It's only covers until the end of the LA S1 East Blue Saga. I mean, it might be worth a try? It's not too big of a commitment compared to the 1000+ episodes. The anime is SO different enough (and better) so people do definitely want to see reactions of it 😊
Nope, it's up to Episode 47. Everybody seems to get that wrong...
@@maxpower2480 Uhm... ep45 is where the S1 ended... But East Blue ends in ep61.
Ep 46-47 is the cover/side story technically NOT included in the live action. Completely skipped since Buggy and Alvida already met in the end of S1
Ep 48-53 is loguetown, 54-61 is filler, and ep 62 is the official next Saga.
IKR!!!
They can stop at ~ep 45 if they think it's too long by that point.
His parent has been introduced already in the anime and the fact that shanks said he could take mihawk on means that shanks is on mihawk's level if not higher
lol she must have a bad experience with people who drink alcohol to assume Shanks has lost his mind now.
I like Milena so much, wish I could know Her better. Such a cutie.
Sanji is a french cook, all his techniques use french words link to ingredients.
20:38 : Garp the Luffy's Grandpa is strong...really really strong. He's ultra soft here so even if he saw the punch, Luffy can't dodge because it's impossible.
33:00 : Shanks just made a fiesta many times and Mihaw arrived at the end of one of the party. And he seems to be really important now because he talked about Mihawk like to mock. If you want to see the same scene but in the anime version, go watch it. "(eng sub) Mihawk meets Shanks - ua-cam.com/video/yYQXHCz1GQ0/v-deo.html "
where are chapters 4 and 5?
