      I know everyone is saying to watch the anime, but I really enjoyed your blind reactions to the live action and think it would be real cool if you experienced the One Piece story though it. I wouldn’t be upset either if y’all do start it, I’m sure those videos would be great but I love these videos of people who love the show and don’t constantly compare it all the time to the anime/manga and just let themselves enjoy it. Zeff taught Sanji how to fight. Remember? He was a notorious pirate. Also, Sanji's fighting style only uses kicks, because that's how Zeff trained him as a cook should avoid hurting his hands during fighting.

    Sanji’s attacks are actually pretty clever wordplay. They’re names for different cuts of meat. He’s also calling out which parts of the body he’s kicking (or rather, tenderizing).
    Also, I can’t remember if this was addressed, but he learned how to fight from Zeff. The reason he kicks exclusively is because a chef can’t risk damaging his hands.

      @dontreadmyprofilepicture8817 took me years and several tries to get into one piece. Started over maybe 5 times until I started to feel the story. I say water 7 because it's like oda became a better writer around that time. I started getting hooked towards the end of alabasta and when they were investigating ways into sky island. But like you said, water 7 is peak, if someone doesn't like it by then, most likely they're not going to. It'll at least save them the next 700+episodes to find out

    • @cresentj
      @cresentj Рік тому +10

      @@AnimeIntrospectiveif someone doesn't like the series by like episode 10 I usually just tell them to drop it. There's some false belief that one piece doesn't get good till along park or alabaster or enemies lobby etc etc. When in actuality it's the same series from the first few episodes. It's silly, goofy, action packed, heartfelt, has interesting characters, a crazy world, strong story telling etc etc and that doesn't suddenly start dozens or 100s of episodes in, that's there from jump.
      Yeah there's always that odd person that's like "I needed to watch 600 episodes before I got into one piece" but honestly if people don't like it at the start, theres no point forcing them till Stockholm syndrome takes hold. There's plenty of other things they could be watching that doesn't require them to force themselves to get into.
      The "it doesn't get good till" statement is so lame.

    • @AnimeIntrospective
      @AnimeIntrospective Рік тому

      @cresentj nah.. it's not really the case for me, ppl need more than 10 episodes to get into such a unique world, they need longer to get to know the characters, and tbh most ppl now who love the show were haters at first, me included. Oda wrote it when he was 17 so obviously his writing will change over time. And approaching water 7 I sensed that change. It's like he went to take a few writing classes then came back to work on his world. I'd still prefer to watch something from episode 1. But you can get away with starting at a later arc, sacrificing the first few seasons, and the show will still hold people's attention.. that should show you how his writing changed for the better over time. Bit hey to each their own I guess

    This adaptation was amazing it broke so many live action curses we’re so used to and I can’t wait for season 2 since it was confirmed to be already written, but part of me is sad knowing the live action will probably never finish the story of one piece, I think it would take far too long and cost too much money for Netflix but who knows, I hope it continues to go on for as long as it can and keep the same level of quality and integrity

    This is what happens when the people working on the show loves and respect the source material and involves the author of the manga itself. I saw many changes they've made in the live action, but the changes made sense because there are some aspect of anime you just can't translate into live action, and they know that.
    One thing I liked the most in the live action is how they made Zoro so sassy and Sanji changed into a rizz boi rather than simp boi. And the cast is perfect.

    Always good to see new people enjoy One Piece in any format, even cooler to see those with no experience with the story reacting in the same way to the live action as those of use who have read the manga and/or watched the Anime. As many will tell you, I highly recommend the Anime, the length seems daunting at first and before you know it you'll be 300-400 episodes deep. The key is don't rush the anime, take it at whatever pace feels comfortable and never forget first and foremost One Piece is about the journey not the destination.

    Honestly, even if they want to go on for season 2, considering now how popular it is, there are still tons of technical challenges to tackle in order for the adaptation to be good, not to mention how long it takes. I would love to because the actors are so good. But the technical challenges just keep exponentially multiplying as the story goes on. If you think East Blue saga is good, the stories after just get better and better you can't even imagine like you said, wholesome and deep. I just can't fathom how Oda can do more than 1,000 chapters and still outdo himself for each arc he wrote.

    if you guys want another really good live action adaptation i STRONGLY recommend rurouni kenshin movies (there's 5 in total), they're very emotional and the fighting choreography is amazing (especially in the last one), for an added bonus the actor that plays Zoro (Mackenyu) plays the antagonist Enishi for the last movie so you'd see some more of what he's capable of (he did his own stunts)
    edit: if you decide to do it please watch the original in japanese with english subs rather than watching the dubbed version, i feel like a lot of emotion gets lost when dubbing movies
