- In today's video, we are styling a black turtleneck! This is one of my favorite basic pieces in my autumn/winter capsule wardrobe, and in making this video, I discovered so many new ways to wear it! Our basics can sometimes feel tired or boring, but by experimenting with inspiration from Instagram and Pinterest, we can renew our pieces and feel excited about getting dressed. This turtleneck is such a versatile piece, and I feel stoked about styling it more. I hope this video inspires some of you to try out new ways of styling your basics! Love, love, love - Lauren

Love this video! My favourite is the silk dress with the turtle neck cinched at the waist - so chic. My fiancé & I are travelling to the states in October & I’m planning a capsule wardrobe for out trip so I can make all of my pieces work together! The turtle neck is most certainly coming with me now 😍🫶🏼

I like to dress up a bit, too. After months of wearing boring, sloppy loungewear, I went back to wearing my regular day clothes around the house and on essential errands, and I feel much better.

Only remark: the shoes at 8:00 need some contrast. Stockings off and naked pins if you feel comfortable with it. But otherwise a pair of contrasting sheer socks over your stockings and the look will be top. ;-)

That's also part of the reason I added the sneaks, to get a bit of contrast! I'll give it a shot without the stockings.Great remark about the boots too! I had a few pairs a bit ago, but I find that I wear ankle boots much more. Perhaps when I move to a colder locale, it will make sense, and I'll reevaluate 😂.

Love these and has given me some inspiration, I find it hard to wear a black turtleneck as feel it doesn't suit my colouring but its made me want to find a dark grey one to use instead! I think the image at 13:16 with the straight leg jeans is the lovely Lizzie from 'Shot from the Street' - think you'd really love her style :)

I made the mistake of buying lots of clothes with patterns on it (shirts, pants, etc.), so I have trouble matching pieces within my wardrobe. Do you have any tips? :)
Hey Ashley! Great question, and definitely a situation I've been in myself. First of all, you can definitely mix and match patterns, as long as the colors complement each other! Try combining larger patterns with smaller, ditsier patterns. That might be a good starting point. If you're looking to add things to your wardrobe, take inventory of what colors most of your patterns are in and invest in some solid pieces that you can wear with many of your patterned pieces! It's always a good idea to find easy ways to wear things that you love 🥰. Thanks for commenting!
I loved your outfits! The turtleneck is incredibly sexy and versatile. It is one of pieces that always makes you look dressed. It can be personalized with jewelry and a scarf, blazer. It is amazing and as you say tres chic ! Check out Marie Ann le Ceour black turtleneck videos. She Has two but the latest one is wonderful! And yes your videos are helpful because you show different body types which again speaks to the versatility of the piece. I have turtleneck in dark red, dark green, navy and black. I love them and now I have more ways to wear them! Thanks!

where did you get your turtleneck?
Great question. Something I probably should've mentioned 😂 . I bought this one secondhand, but it is the pima cotton turtleneck from Everlane. Not sure if they have this exact one still, but I'm sure they have similar ones. It does the job for me, though I either have to be sure to wear a black bra or wear a tanktop underneath because sometimes it is seet-hrough.
