Hello - great looking stand! I was wanting to build a stand for my sons Aqueon 14 gallon frameless cube aquarium. Would you be able to assist with material list and measurements? All the other stand builds I see don’t really have a usable storage and I want to have that for his tank
Did you ever get help? I've been wanting to build a stand like this for my same tank for a while now but haven't had time and to get all the measurements etc.
I dig this stand and I’m looking to make one for my new nano 10g. Can you share the build specs of what was cut? A little confused on how to go about it at first.
So there's gonna be 3 sides you'll need to cut back, and both sides, and then a 4th will be your door and then you'll have a top, and a bottom shelf that sits at the bottom but other than that, the only other would maybe be some vertical studs that you might put at the bottom and top for weight support, if you have more questions let me know I know it can get kinda confusing
Nice work. I built a stand for a 4' x 2' x 2' 110 gallon tank. It was 2 x 4 with a 1/2' oak skin and solid oak around the frame and panel oak and basswood doors. I also used the Titebond III with deck screws and walnut stain and poly. I put a solid 3/4 oak top on it and it is totally solid. Why buy something you don't know when you can make it yourself and be sure!
@@jjaquariums is that color still available? I can't find it anywhere. And for the legs, where did you mount them? On the corners or a little offset towards the middle?
No I design and came up with it myself so there's no actual set of plans but if you watch this and watch others build plywood aquarium stands you should be able to build what you need
Hi, I'm designing a 30x30x75 wooden cabinet in your style. But I don't know if I should drill a hole in the side or not. I used Black Walnut wood, what do you think? Should I paint on Black Walnut? please tell me which wood is better or suitable. Is it suitable for me to use height 75?
Anyone that is willing to help with measurements. I have a cube 14g rimless that measures 15.125". Will also be using 3/4in plywood. What measurements would I need for the cuts?
I used a very expensive plywood but any 3/4 plywood will do, but mine was a grade A 3/4 Oak plywood which is pretty much the best you can buy nice for furniture or cabinet work, and I needed only 1 4x8 sheet so for yours you'll Definitely only need 1
maybe in future you try to wrapping in glossy laminate.. it will looks cool just like a kintons acrylic cabinets and extra adding waterproofing to the plywood
Fantastic. How did you mount your power bar in the stand? I have tried using double sided tape and it eventually falls off due to the tension from the cables/powerbar itself. Do you hang it on the one or two screws drilled in the stand?
If you take away tools and just add up materials and paint, screws etc, I used all high end material, like using grade A plywood, which can cost over 150 a sheet but the total wasn't bad about $300 when done
I am about to build the exact stand for a 12-inch cube! Would you mind sending me the plans/a list of measurements and the amount of materials that you need? I don't want to go too far overboard at the store and end up wasting a bunch of wood. Thanks in advance!!
Awesome job, is nice to see a good painted cabinet that hasn’t been painted with some sort of sprayer
Thanks
Well done, looks great. When I saw your livestream I thought it was an official ADA product.
Thanks
Great job on the stand , BTW your other tank is looking stunning
Thanks
So are you building your base and top of cabinet 3/4 inch short and having the tank rest its weight on the face frame?
Yeah exactly what I’m thinking and the sides aren’t strong enough too just imagine the tank filled with water

Space grey

what is the measurement of the front rim of the cabinet , i.e the fixed part where the door closes ?
@tfns2021 length of tank which was 17 4/4 and 5in tall
@@jjaquariums so that fixed part of the front where the door closes is 5 inches
tall ?
@@tfns2021 are you talking about the solid piece right above door
@@jjaquariums yes. The fixed border in the front where the door closes in
Then yes it's 5in
Really nice!!

How did you get the paint not to have brush strokes?
Roller
Just one suggestion, when cutting ply wood you should cut you pieces along the grain for max strength,
Does the stand have any legs or pads at the bottom or is it just sitting on the wood?
Yes has legs that makes it sit off the ground about half inch
@jjaquariums which ones did you use?
@puroquiteno just some nail in one's any hardware store has them
Thank you for sharing!!
👍
