Thank you Ashley. *Dr. Khalilah Ali* fka Belinda Boyd was Muhammad Ali's 2nd and longest running wife for all of 10 years. I had the honor of interviewing her for the award-winning documentary *ALI'S COMEBACK* and she shared much about their relationship which is discussed in the film.
Khalilah met "Cassius Clay" (before becoming Muhammad Ali) then in Chicago as a youth. He came to the Muslim bakery where she worked and saw her & said "young lady, take my autograph, I'm the champ and this will be worth something" giving her the autograph. Khalilah took the autographed paper, ripped it up and told him "Cassius is no name for an original Black man". Young 'cassius/Ali' was so shocked he didn't know what to do. From that point he would inquire about that bold young lady and later approached her family to ask her hand marriage. Khalilah was a strong, level-headed woman who surely would make a righteous wife.
When Muhaamad & Khalilah got married, Muhammad had just entered the Nation of Islam and made a stand against fighting in the Vietnam War. Ali had lost his boxing license and him & Khalilah were challenged on all sides. All accounts say Khalilah was the one who kept Ali inspired to train during his ban, telling him constantly to stay in shape to regain his title as the greatest of all time, even encouraging him to write poems confirming this. This inspiration kept Ali focused.
As stated it was no mystery that Ali had numerous affairs through his life and marriages. Khalilah stood by him through the majority of these situations and raised his children, most of the 9 progeny they had.
In line with what Ashley brought foward, Khalilah was no shrinking flower. She was a faithful wife but did fight back when things went too far. If you google search, you'll find the Ebony magazine cover where she's sparring with martial arts master and film star Jim "Black Belt" Kelly.
Khalilah Ali went on to earn her Ph.D and aircraft pilot's license. She is also a skilled vocalist, poet and writer and her autobigraphy will be coming out in 2023.

Thank you so much for a new video Ms Ashley! 🤗 I grew up with hearing about a lot of Mike Tyson's exploits. Unfortunately, him and Ali are incredibly similar. I hope athletes take their stories as tales of caution; that they treat their bodies, minds and those they love the best they can. Otherwise, they could end up like Ali did in his last days.
Difference is, Mike never pretended to be perfect or upstanding. I love people who are what they are and never hide it. That's why I've always preferred Richard Pryor over Bill Cosby. Even back in the day when they referred to Bill as America's Dad, I still liked Richard better.

This is what you have to understand about Muhammad Ali. As a teenager and in his early 20’s.. he didn’t engage in Sexual relations hardly if any. He devoted himself to boxing. And then married his first wife. But afterwards and getting a taste of “it”.. it’s like he couldn’t stop. He was a Boxer. Most Boxers, Martial Artists, Bodybuilders or those who put their body through a lot pain for the fame naturally seek their rewards through pleasure In women. This is why many fighters and bodybuilders, ball players etc have Marriage issues due to infidelity. And on top of that women throw themselves at you day and night. I’m not saying it justifies committing adultery. But it makes it so much harder and it makes you vulnerable. His Wife Belinda started cheating on him as well.

As a Muslim my mother told me about Mohamed Ali briefly which gave me a glamourised perspective of him. I did extensive research on him and the choices he made in life were pretty ass, his cheating was no rumour, he would publicly make jokes about his infidelity plus there’s a video online of him kissing a model whilst he was married (to Veronica, yes he was having his symptoms of his illness and still getting around), he truly acted like he didn’t care about his women and it came across childish.I appreciate and acknowledge his greatness in who he was able to become and as a black person I admire his prevails and accomplishments and especially him saving a nurturing another black man that was about to jump of a building (also caught on video) whilst other white onlookers shouted at the poor man, telling him to commit, I feel he was genuinely a kind man but unfortunately he was very gullible and was able to turn on his wives and friends (malcom) for no good reason 🙁
