I've been fortunate enough to see them play live in a small club in Portland Oregon...supporting their albums "Tre Caballeros" and "You Know What"...my favorite and the best band on earth...
I'm out of the loop. I never hear music 'til years after it's new, so these guys are pretty fresh to me. This might be the best f'n trio I've ever heard. Amazing.
@@stevescott200 Yup, thought the same the first time I heard it. Guthrie's tones are so crisp and he plays with so much feel regardless of genre. @Dru Chumley I hold him at the same level as Steve Morse as a guitarist. Steve's written better music overall imo.
Steve Morse is awesome. Guthrie Govan... amazing. It seems to me that Guthrie is a better guitar player but that doesn’t diminish Steve in my eyes. Steve always plays the right things at the right times. Less flashy than Guthrie but I like that.
I allways wine when hearing good music, and my eyes are filled with tears, so good... My wife loves me for my emotional reaction to music, but unfortunately, does not like the music i prefer... :)
Who else here caught the homage to "Careless Whisper"?
Can't wait to see you in September 2022 dudes.
i heard it, just couldn't place it...shit is happening too fast!! this is snarky puppy level.
The "Careless Whisper" quote in the first 10 seconds of the solo is either a genius intro he wrote ahead of time or divine intervention.
He does it all the time, it's great. Guthrie likes to add all kinds of random easter eggs in his live stuff.
Marco's drumming skill is scary
Fortunate that he should be a drummer then
Mind blowing musicianship. All of them.
03:44 guthrie samp careless whisper??
+Ignacio Santana nice observation!!
Great spot. Guthrie quotes other music with lovely humor and skill.
Haha! it certainly sounds like it!
Ignacio Santana he quotes rondo alla turca right before it
7:15 Marche funèbre by Chopin (Bass player)

One of the most insane trios ever .. The Fellowship .. The Aristocrats ..it's all good.
5:00 to 5:05 you can have a glimpse of the true genius of that guy playing that guitar. Goddam. Bending matter at will.

Same here! Heard this for the first time yesterday
This confirms that Guthrie can play anything. For many years, I thought Steve Morse was the most versatile player, but Guthrie has changed my mind.
That is the kind of track you could find on a Dixie Dregs album,

Steve Morse? Fair point. But he's like Al DiMeola tier imo

Guthrie is amazing but check this out another amazing player. This whole show is incredible: ua-cam.com/video/zkydwhJImmU/v-deo.html
their talent level is scary .........
Rev Horton Heat and Brian Setzer vibes, nice!
THIS SOUND. Unreal.
How can one marco be that awsome?😱
The best trio ever.
Happy to see mr stig appreciate good music
3:43 I'm surprised how they didn't notice that
All of it but, the drums...just beastly....even some traditional grip technique...
This is eargasmic.
Best song written ever.....by anybody...... even better live!!! wtf?
He just gets better and better doesn’t he? What other styles can you play ? Or more to the point what can’t you play ?
One organism playing three different instruments
Christopher Cartledge……..and one organism = one gigantic musical orgasm!!!
5:15 - in amongst all the amazing musicianship, just noticed Marco's amazing drumming just here.
lol love that last note.. sounds like the brown note...
This nott music,this mystical revelation!!!
Jimmy Bryant would be looking down with a smile :)
Amazing song they are the god
Are this guys gods?
I allways wine when hearing good music, and my eyes are filled with tears, so good... My wife loves me for my emotional reaction to music, but unfortunately, does not like the music i prefer... :)
Holy shit this is fucking awesome, it's like a cartoonish jazz haha
Fabulous!
whoa 5:20
Scrolled down to see if anyone else spotted that! XD
I live here.
3:45 - 3:48 Careless Whisper Song
Pure raw talent
Sick guitar
yes, that is what you get , good music !
EPIC ECLECTIC ,WOW
What is the name of the tune that Guthrie plays before they start?
GREAT !
been there lol had the best doughnut ever there too.
Now play Happy Happy Joy Joy.
The thought of picking up my guitar and making some rude sound right now kind of scares me. whoa!
Seems like the only proper use of a "tremolo" in the history of
WOW everyone's soloing.
J A Z Z
Guthrie Eats World , as usual !!! ...
Aduhai.... 😍
Love this version. A little slower, cleaner and more whammy stuff
great !!
sooo gnarly!
Holy s**t
Guthrie is a badass!
Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the Bass :D
7:15 Marche funèbre by Chopin (Bass) :o
Hahah, Marco noticed it!
Jammie ......
Man this sums up what I hear in the background when I'm peaking on acid.
Good stuff. Drummer's antics remind my of Keith Moon.
Sweet! Now theeeere u go! This grooves.... I like when they groove and not wank
a bit like Take Five on acid and downers!!
but also repeatable,.....I regret ;-)
Bongus75 Are you insinuating that you can legitimize something through the use of repetition?...
what scale Guthrie is playing any idea ? 😎
At 5:56 that could be a coincidence, but that's the sound of Castle Theme - Super Mario World
6:00 just this... broo..
Sounds like a mandolin
4:47 alladin song
‘You ain’t never had a friend like me’
No tocaron esta en el concierto de anoche, sala Chango.
E i jazzisti che fanno i giri di blues....MUTI.
Baffling.
That is a bebop song?
Me font penser à moral le groupe francais
I want to make babies with Guthrie's tone, and then Mrs. Tones and I will raise a family of little tones
What's the song that Guthrie plays on 1:25 ?!
yes!! can someone shed light on that
I was wondering that too!
Marco is Weckl Lang Bozzio Cobham Coaluita etc etc
Dream-theater who ?
Definitely Brian Setzer influenced.
being an olympic athlete and on steroids
Please, don't ask tabs ...
This sounds like dinosaur funk. The Flintstones would have been throwing down
And that's a very good thing
Is this at the Band on the Wall Mcr?
yup - I was lucky enough to be there that night!
Do you think he quoted Wham! On purpose
I mean, it's not bad, but it's no Ren & Stimpy theme :D
good to see zlatan on bass.
you mean scottie lepage
This is Zappa reloaded! 👍
That's fun for them but would be my lifes work and most likely a fail :p
That's their's life's work, but slightly in a different way. :)
2:08 to skip Bryan Beller's boring intro talk haha
But Rolling Stone says Joanie Mitchell is a better guitar player.
Cut the between song bullshit, apart from that .. GG is the best hands down electric guitar player of all time.
Repeatetive lines makes sometimes boring...
Guthrie is a fantastic guitar player, but he isn't able to give a deep touch to my soul...
tommes55 probably there isn‘t any?
Listen to music you actually like then.
Flatlands solo?
