Yep .. yep .. I can feel the Tex Mex 120 degree sand smacking me in the face as I book a room at a cheap, fly by night hotel for me and my new found lady of the night/ lady of leisure ..
Every 2 weeks for years I used to smuggle weed down the 101 in Cali. I listened to this song every morning before the run. I had to after awhile or I would jinx the run. Legalization killed the run but this song is in my DNA.
This song makes me feel like Im moving through an underground pass from Mexico to Texas with a few kilos of cocaine in my backpack and an automatic glock on my waist. Hoping no one finds me and things dont turn into a shootout. The title really does this song justice lol.
Apparently the inspiration for this song came while they were on tour thru the desert after playing in Mexico and going into the US... or something like that I can't remember exactly(they explained it themselves), so yeah, it's kinda like you said.
Went to see them last night, and my very first thought was "That sounds like Hank Marvin!". It also helped that he was playing cleaner than we hear in this track.
This could be used in a Quentin Tarantino film!!! Such amazing stuff from these guys!
Exactly, that was my thought of this when I heard it for the first time. It's amazing.
Bryan Beller said that they have been inspired from an episode of Breaking Bad

Absolutely a perfect song.
The guitar lick at 2:22! Has to be one of the band's finest sections

Quentin Tarantino should use this song in one of his movies. Smugglers Corridor fits so well in Pulp Fiction.
couldn't stop smiling when guthrie started destroying that solo at 3:27.......insane

That is way too specific.

Spaghetti western song, or entrance of a hot chick in a Tarantino movie- same difference. Guitar version of The Lonely Bull. Both oozing with style.

The initial bassline is merely filthy
