- This is a 2015 KTM 690 Enduro r. This problem can happen any 690 or Husqvarna 701 there is no TSB for this problem and other people on the internet are calling this problem normal. Do not listen. Immediately stop riding your bike and fix it before it costs you a lot of money. I've been working on bikes for more than 20 years I thought for sure this was a bad crank. Even though I know KTM RFS Motors have a TSB for the same exact problem. I'm going to do a longer video on this and the oil consumption problem with the KTM 690 but I wanted to get this out as fast as possible.
this HAS to be Mike from Breaking bad!
You deserve an award from ktm dude lol THANK YOU!
Funny youtube recommends this as i realize mine has a lil knock and i didn't loctite that gear after doing my freewheel/starter clutch 😂 guess i better pull it and check
Great intel. Thanks for sharing
Nail on head, or piston, perfect, right..... 6,300km 2016 starts as ticking...... I check my tolerances on valves etc and have a listen with a stethoscope... hmmm now you say this.... I’m at 6,700km, the casing will be removed today.... I’ll try to upload pics ! 👍👌
How'd it go?

@@TheWelderandrew Awesome man thanks for the reply, opening her up in a week or two.
Man great found the same problem yesterday nothing destroyed other than key getting ripped off not as bad as yours though still rocks back and forth slightly wondering if I can drill a hole and pin it
You wouldn't happen to have a video of the sound?
I had the screw on the auto-decompression weight come loose and made a knocking sound on the top left side of engine.
No sorry
Seriously spent over 700 bucks on that side of my 690 also... Thats exactly what happened to mine. My clutch basket nut backed off also. Ruined the basket and clutch plates.
Yup. This happened, and my crank bearing paid the price. Now putting a 2018 motor in it. Bye bye $$$$.....
how much km has the bike ?
