2024 first Ridge Rider dual-sport
We were honored to be part of the very first ridge Rider's dual sport.. Next year, they will be adding this ride and an enduro on a lot of the same property, and it will be beautiful. If you are part of the East Coast indoor association.You will want to make sure these two rides are on your calendar for next year. Everybody loves a Virgin, especially long Virgin trails.

an outlaw opinion on IRC Evo front and rear. I have a very soft front bib in the bike. and a mid ferm on the rear. it is a little soft in the rocks and very slow turning when moving slow. but when you start going, it hooked up nice. it's amazing how well they soak up rocks. the front EVO is very similar to the m59 I know we all love it but if you can't find one. this feels like it works close t...

This video is my 100% earnest opinion of this tire.I'm not paid by anyone. This is the opinion of an old enduro / hair scramble, rider. I've been riding off-road since I was 13 years old, and I'm 56 now.You can do the math. I hope you got out riding Bro's & Hoe's

2012 husaburg. I have had this bike for a long time. The starter has been bad for a few years. Is it worth fixing the electric starter? Or should I just keep kick-starting it?

    You know, my bike goes from making a fairly loud clacking noise, to not. It’s kinda random, but maybe it happens more when it’s hot. I have a full exhaust and an intake/powercommander and SAS delete but I don’t think any of those things would contribute to the noise. In my experience so far, these bikes do make a bit of a loud clacking noise. Almost like in an old school car if your lifters are loose. Other than that, bike constantly runs great. Also, my nut referenced in this video was not loose at all. But I did check cause the noise sounds concerning, but apparently it’s not. I had my 6600 mile service done fully expecting to hear something negative but my lifters weren’t even out of adjustment. And I ride my bike hard (hit limiter constantly)

    Okay this is the first time I have heard this. I have a 2017 Duke 690 that has been doing that for a while put everybody says that's normal. So thank you I'm going to do this immediately. I wanted to ask you I tried to go through your videos to find the key way video? But I couldn't find it. So what is it? And how do I fix it if it is f***** off? Do you have any links to videos? Is it on the bottom of the engine as well? Thank you bro.

    I believe on my 16 it's left hand thread. I figured that out after i took the impact off of it and saw the L on the nut, but not before i held my finger down on the 1/2" milwaukee

      Yes, it is on all of them. It's crazy the first time you feel one loose with your finger. You almost think it was that easy to move the crank, then you remember it's a 690/701

    Funny youtube recommends this as i realize mine has a lil knock and i didn't loctite that gear after doing my freewheel/starter clutch 😂 guess i better pull it and check

      Drz is the best or most off Road capable bike the Japanese offer. I love them. I just hate looking for an extra gear all the time on the road.

      @@mikekearney1369 Yep i've heard that about gearbox. Wish there was a 6 speed, ABS model of the dr/drz. The Bosche cornering abs on 690/701 looks like a great safety feature for a dualsport bike. Shame about the plastic engine parts though...

    • @mikekearney1369
      @mikekearney1369 4 місяці тому

      Yes, the gear is disappointing. But I did this video as a warning for people, not a stop sale or do not buy one video. I own a 701LR. I ride it in the woods a lot. It is an excellent bike in every other way. And the gear is cheap if you need one.

      @connor3288 4 місяці тому

      @@mikekearney1369 Any aftermarket solution? In your experience, at what hours/mileage should that gear be replaced to avoid problems? And are the rocker arm issues fixed on the 2019+ engines? Have also heard the fuel system can have issues, guessing mostly from dirt and running gas low. Some complain about missed shifts in the higher gears, guessing the shifter movement may be more in those gears? And people say the bike really needs a power commander/fueling remap. A lot of questions i know ☺️. It seems like a good bike when you make decent money, and take into account all the time and money you would spend upgrading say, a dr650. And if abs saves you from a nasty crash on-road just once, it already saved you money vs buying a dr650. Have a great day man.

      @connor3288 That's a lot to Unpack. As far as. The rocker arms go. I don't see them coming into the shop with problems on the newer motors. Fuel pump issues are a problem on KTM across the board. My bike is an LR, so I have 2 of them, but neither have failed in over 15000 miles. To be honest, I do leave my front tank off. Most of the time. With the quick shift system. It is possible to miss the shift going from fifth to sixth. If you don't pull hard on the shifter. Under extreme pressure late in the gear, sometimes you will be locked out of the next Shift, yes, this can be annoying, but it's very rare It happens and most of the time it's user error. Although I'm getting older. I love riding in the woods because of that. I like a quiet bike, so I did not change my exhaust Or add a Power Commander until about 8000 miles. My family got me those accessories for Christmas. Or I would have happily rode the motorcycle till it's demise with it Perfectly stock, and I would have loved it. I'm not the type of guy that needs every ounce of power out of every motorcycle I ride. I understand the Comparison to a DR, but it's almost insulting. In my long off-road experience, I have owned all of the 650s from Japan. I can tell you this bike is better than everyone of them. This Bike rides more like a heavy te500 then even the best jap off road bike the XR650l. Every bike has its drawbacks. After Riding and owning all of the big boar bikes on the market. I have to say this is the best single cylinder Large dual sport motorcycle period. I think most of what you've heard about it Come from people who are shocked at how expensive it can be to fix this motorcycle if you have to pay people to do it. And the initial buy-in is extreme when compared to the price of the big 3 from Japan. When looking at that price, you have to remember those 3 are Machines that have been produced for over a decade at that point. All your machine is long paid for and everything you produce is profit. So you do not have to charge anywhere near as much as they do a Just researched and developed machine KTM and husqvarna have constantly updated the 701 and six ninety over the years. And to finish this off the A. B. S traction control system. Are excellent except just Like every ABS system. It's unnecessary and marginally dangerous when used off-road. I wish it was easier and faster to turn it off when you need to. When I first got the bike.I would turn off both every time I went in the woods. Overtime i've decided to use the traction control and have actually came to like it quite a bit. Sometimes in really Rocky conditions wet slippery conditions. Mud, I do have to really flogged the clutch to get through them, but it works so good in deep sand and other places. It's just worth leaving it on. And letting it do its work. I hope this helps if you found things misspelled.Or didn't make sense as you were reading this.It's because I talked to my phone and it's an Android. It doesn't edit well at all.😆

    Love the vid man, I am opening my clutch cover tomorrow to have a look. Also checking rocker arms, although I always heard the rockers were fixed by 2015, do you know if that's true? Also, is it normal for the engine to sound louder when its hot? Or could that be an indicator of this issue?

      Mike V no sound is normal... mine purrs like a kitten now... but no, mine was 2016 and still had the older ones, for a couple hundred dollars I wasn’t going to trust ktm or Husqvarna with it... Also need to note I ran her in like a virgin should be ran in... and then changed oil and filter.... the bike is perfect now 👌
