This man is a genius. I love playing streets of rage and shinobi still to this day just for the music he did on those games alone.
hearing the revenge of shinobi and streets of rage almost made me cry. it's crazy how time passes u by so fast. it felt like yesterday when my dad bought me the sega genesis which included the sega 6 Pak from toys r us.

I had the six pack to with the six button. I was so excited when I got it. The memories wow. And Streets of Rage 1 had the best music. SOR2 was good, but not as good as SOR1, especially since some of the music they remixed (a little) from SOR1.

He was never a DJ! He said he was basically just playing songs but as a DJ, he was and never claimed to be one lol
I was so happy that I got to be a part of this. His transition were not that great honestly, but I was still a part of the legend's first concert in the States! The Streets of Rage part was awesome, but the second he dropped Maximum Acceleration, I lost it. Is that was my first maxi tune song when I first started playing the game, and once he started playing the music front of that series I never stopped dancing :-)
Tbh the transition from actraiser to the shinobi from revenge of shinobi was epic.

If you ever attended seeing him at live events doing his magic you can understand the reason for his slapnuts transition. He gets very very very nervous and also with the excitement in the air that's accelerating his nervousness. It show he has no poker face he's just koshiro doing his yuzo!
That playlist of WMMT really is something should be played in any club anytime soon. It's gorgeous! People wouldn't stop dancing! I'm putting this on the office and I see co-workers waving their heads. It's contagious!

Came to this video to see what Mr.Koshiro meant when he mentioned Magfest was one of his most memorable performances.

So happy I got to see the Legend play live! I was expecting Streets of Rage music, but I honestly did NOT expect him to play Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune music! I was praying that he would play some songs from those games. I can hear myself screaming like a maniac once Maximum Acceleration came on lol. Ahh, such a good night/MAGfest.
Man Koshiro looks pretty good.
Yeah, his transitions aren’t the greatest. But he is a composer, not a DJ. He has been one of my favorite composers since I was a kid, and has done so many OSTs where he didn’t get heavy billing it will surprise you. Misty Heart, Legacy of the Wizard, the list just goes on and on of great works that people don’t think about.

This was one of the most hypnotizing experiences ever. I was never into club/dance/trance music but Koshiro is King and pulls it off so well that he pulls others into it. And the intro is amazing, ActRaiser is such a masterpiece.
Damn, I remembered being at the front row there, literally few feet away from this legendary Yuzo Koshiro. I miss this day so badly but will never forget this unique marvelous experience.

Was reading up shinobi and yuzo koshiro on wikipedia, and here I am. I had no fucking clue the legend himself did a concert at Magfest in 2013! What a missed opportunity!
Omg. So many good memories. Among my favorite are Fighting in the Streets, Chinatown, Go Straight, Under Logic, Moon Beach, Alien Power, Jungle Bass, High-Speed Monster..... You rock Yuzo!

I remember being 12 and buying Streets of Rage. I literally hummed those tunes for months. Streets of Rage and Midnight Resistance made that genesis sing.

Wow. Didn't know he composed for Castlevania. Instantly recognized the OST. Streets of Rage, Revenge of Shinobi, and Castlevania were my fave games when I was little. Still play them once in a while. The music makes them even more awesome.
when you're composing for "16bit" game and still sound great to this day, that's f-ing legendary. respect to yuzo & motohiro.

This dude Yuzo not only did this music on an 16 bit sound engine....He acually invented the dirty bass "Dub Step" style that is so popular 20 years later that others just now have the technology to copy. He also introduced to us what is now called "Trance" in the process....ahead of his time on a 16 bit sound chip.....fucking amazing. Try to find other composers.... on the same chip...that even come close. He embarrassed em bad.
For those bitching about him not being able to do, check out his streets of rage show in 2018. He has another guy helping him out so the transitions are flawless and it sounds killer on headphones!

Electrifying the heart and soul. Like all classic sega games and music. I'm a gamer since the 80's and big sega classics fan and yuzo koshiro is one of the very best vg composers.
I'd love to hear Yuzo do a set after he's been DJing for a few months or years straight. This was good but it's more a testament to the insanely great songs he's written rather than his skills as a DJ.
A real genius. Whenever I listen to the tracks from Streets of Rage, I just wonder how... how... how... so many layers with such a limited sound chip and they all add something amazing.
The only thing missing is Super Adventure Island. The music from that game is perfect for the dance floor. Don't believe me? Just go and listen to some of the tracks!

Both Are Considered King's of Music Composition.
