Since the turn of the millennium, Simon Green has been crafting a breathtaking discography, marking him out as one of electronic music’s most remarkable talents. Across six studio albums he’s shown a flair for producing sounds that are both steeped in emotional resonance and able to energise a dancefloor. Whether he’s alone at the controls or conducting orchestral arrangements, Green instils a depth of feeling into his tracks that always hits the spot.
‘The North Borders’, was a worldwide sensation, topping electronic charts across each side of the Atlantic, and sparking a tour which cut a path through four continents and 30 countries. An estimated two million people saw the 12-piece Bonobo band in action, with audiences left stunned in their globe-trotting wake.
Now Bonobo’s seventh album ‘Migration’ draws upon international influences, exploring themes of humanity and spatially defined identity within characteristically stirring tracks.
A residency at renowned New York club Output and numerous Outlier dates in many more of the world’s finest venues has also provided the opportunity to road test the tracks and ensure their dancefloor impact. Green’s DJ sets draw upon this wealth of back catalogue gold, as well as the variety of spellbinding records he’s collected over the years, to form moving musical trips.
True Story...one of my good friends many years ago in Brighton lived in shared house with a guy who hardly came out his room n all you'd here was music...then one day the elusive guy ran downstairs excited that his music had jus been signed to Ninja tunes .. Bonobos first album was born.... Great music from a serious talent...bigup
Eric Siguenza Met him once around the time my friend lived with him...super humble guy...Amazing producer!! : )
well, it came out on Tru Thoughts before Ninja, so....
Russell Hayse So it did. My friend who lived with him for a year in Brighton told me that Bonobo was very excited because Ninja Tunes had got in touch regards his music he was so cleverly writing in his bedroom..he must of gone with Tru Thoughts then eventually signed to Ninja. ..
very good
Thanks for sharing the story!

I think that's not Finder by Ninetoes, it's the original Concept Neuf Song.
Floris Hoogendoorn 1:42:26 is Kerala bro :)
your are completely right!
GO Create Bambro? It's on the Migration album that came out in January
that little grin at 23.24 with cirrus playing. As if hes saying to himself "I am a fucking musical wizard"
I reckon he just caught a glance of the chap having a lovely time in front of him
Nik Harte doubt it. The guys at the front ruined the vibe by acting like absolute douche bags
He thought of something in the past related to that song. :)
dude you trippin? he's just appreciating the reaction of the crowd
+1 for appreciating. He rode in Cirrus in from a complex drum pattern, nailed the mix and lit the crowd. Pure DJ high. The end.
The best part of this video is when he drops Cirrus and smiles when the crowd cheers at 23:23. We see him own the greatness of what he's created and how it makes people feel. This cat is my hero
Si pues, Cirrus es una canción Muy Poderosa.
also, one of the best moments is when in the very end, during Notrh Shores, some dude throws away his jacket, this is insane!
that part you link to is exceeeeeedingly good 👌

🤘
how can I get this??????? I seen him play at the midway in San francisco and the playlist was amazing, I need the track list
How can I get an MP3 of this set?
Mixmag I was just going to say the same thing.
💖💖💖
I've never seen someone this focused on blending two tracks together. He is really giving his all for them and that's beautifull
2023 and still this is one of the best DJ Set of all time
Every day
sure guy bonobo
No it's not dork
I've been collecting music for 25 years from every genre and era, and I'm quite certain Bonobo is one of my Top 5 all time favorites both as a producer and a DJ. He can do no wrong in either regard IMHO. Absolutely prolific talent. Thankful I exist at the same time he does so I can catch him live in both forms. Nothing but love!
Listen to his outlier radio shows on soundcloud, wow
Who else do you rate ?
man i so love this comment.
grapsta I’m also curious about this!
I have to agree also, there is something about each and every track that has a uniqueness to it while still fundamentally being Bonobo. In a class of his own, I wonder where he takes inspiration from
What a great set during lockdown! Anybody else here with me?
😄👌👌👌
absolutely! hiding from me for three years! whyyy??)
Hell yea we are!
What a gem!!!!!
unfortunately not I'm here XD
Listening to it in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and so on. Don't ask, just listen. It is almost perfect, you hear it yourself.
It certainly is! I love it too
If you feel emotional, whether it's art or music or literature or dance, the artist has hit the spot: the art helps us transcend our human condition. We're communing. Bonobo's music always feels like a religious communal experience. I'm sure the same neurones are firing as they fired 100,000 years ago in the flickering light of caves like Lascaux.
Nice 🔊🔊🔊❣️🪐✨✨🌏
really nice sentiment, good words used stuff well with tooo all -s0 better thans I can says
Bonobo's sound engineer is INSANE. For those who haven't seen him in person, it's so worth it.
How can anyone thumbs down this piece of art... I've DJ'd for 19 years now and think this is truly amazing... TIP: don't listen on crappy desktop speakers, def play this through some nice headphones or speakers.
Not just an awesome DJ, but a fantastic songwriter / producer... the bar is SO high these days, but It's ALL good. Great wor k!
Agree with a small parenthesis: listening to crappy UA-cam sound makes almost no difference on whatever equipment
There are folks who will dismiss any electronic music, no
matter the quality. Most music of any genre is crap. But this dude is legit, definitley puts a lot of art into his music.
Josh Walker makes all the difference you’ll hear things you’ve never heard before
Saw him in Louisville, Kentucky years ago and I was like who this random European guy completely annihilating the crowd? The set was amazing and left so happy discovering a new artist who is clearly a master
Alesis RA150 amp + Alesis Monitor One Mk2 speakers. beautiful
FLAC lossless if you can :D
Listened to this while I was travelling alone a few months ago. Just to say it in one word, it was happiness.
Just now,UNESCO declared this set as world heritage and should be protected..💕♥️😍
I've listened to this about 25 times in the past month. It soothes my soul.
People really getting down, no phones, random chatting. and Bonobo is working the room! this is a party you envy not being present at! Boiler room! I think you;ve met your match.!
To the guy in the front row in the LEVIS shirt, absolutely loving it, we should be friends :)
The sheer joy of the 3 guys in the front row is what clubbing is all about. None of this boiler room shit. These guys have probably spent months looking forward to this gig, had 5 pints in a pub around the corner and maybe a little extra ‘assistance’. No phones, just pure hedonism.
Bonobo is more than 20 years in my ears!!!
Yo solo 7 años
The whole set is a musical masterpiece
THE MAN. THE MYTH. THE LEGEND. Bonobo only creates PURE MAGIC.
Am I the only person here lovin the two fellas at the front who are high as fu... and lovin every single second of it?!!! :D :D :D
Theo Pandis exactly what I was thinking. LOL
At what time?
no you're not, they've added much to the enjoyment of this superb set!
Ya and the guy offering one of them a bag of drugs at 22:23 :P ua-cam.com/video/ERLy4Dam1pU/v-deo.html
pure bliss
Cirrus is such a bomb especially when you play it at just right the time
gm pm. I like to play it when my hemmroides are playing up that's the best time for me.
I was here and I will see him this Saturday at the O2 academy, can't fucking wait, guy is God.
There are more broken jaws in this clip than a kimbo slice megamix
Quality
lmao
As someone who was there, I can confim this
Dude you just broke the Internet with that belter 💯👌
Have never really given Bonobo the time of day, but cor fuck, I didn't know what I missed out.
Totally in love with Bonobo sounds ...amazing set !!
The transition from We could forever to Flight Formation was amazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥
His smile at the drop at 23:20 is everything. I love it!
A lovely wee grin,
back again for my daily dose, what a set
Otra dosis de Cirrus
So many of these songs, when they drop they hit so hard. Ugh so good.
Epic mix , one of the best I've heard
Saw him in Brighton in Nov17 and at Pula Arena in Sep18 and again playing a DJ set at Fabric London Oct18. This man is a genius, so privileged to have him seen him play live. Can't wait for his next chapter!
Damn this is the best recorded live video set I've seen in awhile!
how many whiles?
a
a while so big it was a whale
Agreed! My last favorite was his 2012 boiler room set. But of course all his sets are awesome.
Kim Tran AMEN!!!!
I've been listening to this for two weeks straight and I'm struggling to get to the end of the set as there are so many highlights, I keep rewinding it
This is one of those gems of a set where EVERY SINGLE TRACK is amazing. What a talent.
Heard this over a million times and it still feels like the first time. I would turn back time if I could to be where all those lucky bastards are at. FUCK I love this DJ set. Undoubtedly, hands down the absolute best.
Stupified till date and for everytime I listen to it in future ❤️❤️❤️
He's upped his Dj'ing, his live performances and his production. Is there anything this man can't do?
Who is still watching it at 2019
sweety princess me!
2020
still watching in 2020
In the future year past 2020, if the internet was deleted, please let this be the one video that still exists.
Perhaps the best DJ set I have heard
Qué evolución que ha tenido la música de este sujeto👌
I had the good fortune of seeing him do this set live a few years back. So glad youtube threw this up for me here in 2020. Will not hesitate to drop a bill to see this guy again when circumstances allow (for future readers it is still Covid Time here in the States).
This is helping me get through my Friday afternoon at work!
Great Set!!!!!!!! I've loved his collaborations and original music.
When he is in DJ mode, his music choices and mixing remind me of Black Coffee - great stuff!
Gives me shivers down my spine every time
I keep coming back to this set and I love it more everytime!
His masterful use of architects in his already organic and eclectic rhythms, is noteworthy.
That smile at 23:22 says everything. I smiled too at the same moment. Cirrus is Bonobo's masterpiece.
Fallen in love with Bonobo after this set. Absolute musical gold.
This set is helping me smash a technical analysis report for Uni which is due at midnight that I started yesterday...large up!
Long for when I can let this music wash over me again at a club somewhere in the world far from the UK when I can
Saw this absolute hero b2b with George Fitzgerald about a year and a half ago. By far the best night I've ever had. The contrast of the 2 was so different but worked so well. Think I'll be going to FIB Benicassim solely for his live set.
The way he blended Cirrus and Lila Club pretty much into one song is just wild, Si is a gift that keeps on giving both with his own music and his sets
Whoop Whoop! Was für ein geschmeidiges Set.
There are few excellent DJs in the world today. Bonobo is one of them. A textured, ethnic and cultural journey.
one of the best sets i've heard in my life. Not everyone makes you listen to 2 hours of music straight. Pure gold!!
this pops off, saw Bonobo live in Manchester like 5 years ago, epic gig
I'm going to lose my f*ccin' mind when I hear Bambro live for the first time.
saw him in Bristol its incredible when the bass drops
I cannot believe my luck. Will be listening to him in March, live.
April here.
At the Danforth? I'll be seeing him in April, too.
Justin Trottier Electric Factory in Philadelphia
So hyped
march 16 for meeeeeee :D
I wish mans would come to South Africa just once, Please :(
Love love love Simon Green ultimate sweet heart ♥️ ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.
Very cool. The bloke in the white t, shirt is proper having it lol . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🎹🎼🎤🎧
You are the man!! straight up just producing the goods! Your music makes me calm, happy, relaxed and fucking stoked!!
Perfect sets and music since I was 15. I'd marry this guy!
I kinda look like him and have all his albums on iTunes.. will that do?
By the 32.50sec I am still enjoying the fusion of sounds.
BEst.
THE BEST version of 'we could forever' EVER! thanks a lot, Bonobo
Agata Świderek I was hoping somebody loves it as much as I do
JESUS!!!! This is such a gorgeous set!!
this set completely shaped my taste in electronic music, I keep coming back to it and every time find a new layer or song
Love the Samba from 32 Minutes onwards... Talented musician, and truly a musical genius.
Absolutely great mix, great flow and tempo! jumping through genres as if they didn't exist!
What a beginning.. and mid.. and end . That North Shore track is amazing.. Should have been there..., next time :-)!!! Fantastic set..
That transition to Cirrus….tears. Absolute magic.
I keep coming back to this set and dream of seeing Bonobo live one day! What an opening too - the dark, moody synths that drop at 2:24 in Bambro Kojo Ganda is a moment to reflect on...
Holy moly. This transit at 42:25. Bonobo you such a genius
Simon is so incredibly talented! He creates music, DJ's plays instruments. I will forever be a fan of his artistry. Love BONOBO! Great set, thanks for posting this up Mixmag!
Listened to this set while working and my productivity increased enormously, guess I have to come back later to see the video as well! Great set!!
Bouncy Afro-Carribean party vibes with a unique twist.
SO BONOBO
What a cracker of a set. Thanks
This is just great music that takes me to another place and time. Great stuff.
I wouldn't be surprised, when being there was a life-changing experience. Still listening to it till today and getting goosebumps every single time. Thank you for the journeys you're sending me to.
Every moment is top drawer. Incredible talent and care on display here.
Obsessed with this set. Absolutely amazing
Love Simon since his first album! THE BEST SET I'VE HEARD FROM HIM! Goosebumps all the time ;-)
thank you... i've been dancing to this during quarantine with my cats (sigh), wish i could add pictures
I'd kill to see him DJ live. 57:45 is probably one of the most magical transitions I've heard.
Got to see his live performance of Black Sands with his band and backup singers; much prefer instruments to MP3s.
I was lucky enough to see him twice on the same day at Electric Forest, a dj and a live set. They were both out of the world.
track id?
@@vitorcavalheiro1144 John Talabot - Voices
@@sammcshane5765 I found this song a few weeks ago, it's probably on my top 3 most listened songs on lastfm
Only just finding this man after 44 years on the Planet... wow.
Wow... beautiful.
You are cuddling my soul.
vivacious and pure , love it
You re one of the pearls in the industry mate
amazing trip, from the very beginning to the end. Good stuff!
Bonobo is' iner der besten auf seinem Gebiet!
was den Spendenaufruf an die WHO betrifft: Macht nur! -Selber kann ich dem nicht folgen; -wenn die WHO als Sub-Orga der WHO auf Privathilfe angewiesen is', kann ich nur sagen, was ich seit geraumer Zeit behaupte: Endlich Krieg! Hurrah!
-is' mein voller Ernst.
(psst, Geheimnis: Das Schiff is' längst fertig.
Favorite bonobo live. Still keep listening to it in 2021
Loving the moroccan gnawa inspiration at 30:00! Such diversity is needed in today's scene.
gotta love the guy who is in the middle and his hand move at 1:39:59
lol
lol thanks
I honestly cannot count how many times I've listened to this mix. Amazing as usual.
Me too....:-)
So many highlights, that wee pause at 13:14....my fav
This guy is top shelf, high level.
Awesome mix. Thank you!
Big up to the man, making so many people happy!
This is Brilliant !
