I think with no knowledge in trial moves stuff like that is really intimidating. I like riding hard trails but stuff like that... You can see that he has big problems shifting the rear wheel over by itself... Really cool, that he tried though :)

You should more stuffs like that so that people can learn the hard trails. I know so many people would watch that.

I love this kind of videos. Really gives you a feeling of how difficult some of these features actually are. Normally with the Gopro effect everything looks so easy

I can confirm, Nic makes everything look way easier than it really is. 😂

I really enjoy these videos Nic and Steve. As an under-accomplished rider, it’s good to see a great rider talk a newer/less-skilled rider in my approximate ballpark through features like this. I’d never have thought to give Imonator a try before seeing this - now I at least want to have a look-see before the autumn rains set in.

Do it! It's scary, but strangely fun!

The audio off those mics is terrific, have you tried using it for your riding videos or do the action cam mics were better in the wind?

@HardtailLife : There’s a wooden roller coaster on Lower Crippler that is probably good training for the one on Imonator. It’s still intimidating, but it’s much wider (although the last roller is also off camber). I’ve done the Lower Crippler one but I’m yet to even try the Imonator one.

Thanks for the tip! I really want to do it, but my brain hits the abort button whenever I approach it. 😂

Yes the lower Crippler one is a good one. Not too wild and it's plenty wide imo

@@HardtailLife I would say the Roller Coaster on Lower Ladies is more similar to Imonator (but way wider). You can hike up from the bottom (maybe 3-5 minute hike), as the top half of Lower Ladies is really difficult. The Lower Crippler coaster is more difficult at the entrance (skinny then uphill) and is banked at the end (these are things that mess with your head).
You did well on that. I haven't tried riding Imonator on my Tyaughton yet, my squishy bike is 27.5 and you don't need to wheel hop any of those corners, but sometimes it's just commitment. The wheel stays on because the corner is tight and the wheel doesn't have time v distance to fall (I would only test this on the flatter one, not the entrance).

Imonator has claimed many derailleurs and rotors over the years. That said, Natural High to Imonator is one of my favorite ways to end a day on Fromme.

Absolutely love this stuff theres nothing wrong with not doing it as long as eac h time you visit the place you give it a go .... slowly but surely your mind will digest it and suddenly you'll hit it spot on

I think steve needs to lean back more. It seems like hes always heavy on the front causing the back tire to lift on steeper sketchy descents

Skinnies are all mental. I know when I ride I can always stay on a tight defined line at high speed that is narrower than 6 inches with minimal concentration, but put me two feet up on a log and I suddenly can't hold my line. It's infuriating.
