Great video. Is it also possible to rotoscope and isolate subjects for the whole clip? This plugin seems to just be able to apply effects to background and foreground, but does it do keying? Would be good to know if I can use it for compositing and if it substitutes rotoscope from after effects. So is it possible to change the background with another roll?
@digitaldre you can take an BCC+effect with Mocha and have it set to show the Matte/cutout in Final Cut Pro. Then by duplicating the clip and using a FCP blend mode, you have your cutout. I’ll make a quick tip video on this and provide a link in this thread.

Mocha tracking and masking is included with Continuum FCP. Similar to Sapphire, the more advanced features of Mocha, like the Remove Module and PowerMesh, are only supported in Mocha Pro.

You'll want to look at Mocha or Silhouette (or probably a combo of the two for more complex shots). I would recommend starting with Mocha if you already know that a bit, and add Silhouette in for more complex shots. There's not a _straightforward_ way to stroke a Mocha mask in Continuum FCP like there is with Sapphire. I'll report it as a feature request to the Continuum team. Thanks.

wow cant believe mocha is finally now in fcpx, how is removal part?

I need one support, I after watching this I installed Continuum and they send me a Free actiavtion code that not working. How to resolve.

My apologies for my follow up question, but will I achieve the same result with Powermatte (removing backgrounds from a video without greenscreen)?
Depending on your background color and complexity, you can have great success with PowerMatte. We have an intro video on the Boris FX training page.

can I draw a glowing line around the mask I selected? how to do it? I could use this to highlight a small area

Corner Pin Studio hasn't made it to Continuum FCP yet. Mocha support is currently for masking.

This looks like a color filter being masked with Mocha. Maybe one of the Tint effects.
