- I couldn't want to get this painting started and spoiler alert, I've finished it already too!! For a budget friendly kit from Amazon, this was a pleasure to work on and it took me only a day or 2 to finish! Here is the kitting up video for it where I make a mistake and have the excruciating painful silence where you can hear my brain ticking trying to figure out what went wrong and how I was going to fix it!!

Hi, good late evening. I do four steps 1. Cut packages and organize by five numbers. (1-5,6-11,12-17, etc). 2. Labels: numbers, numbers and numbers, numbers and letters, numbers and symbols. 3. DMC numbers. I go down with the jars, then back up, then down. Like a snake. 4. I leave the extra jars alone. 5. But, I have one jar where I keep what I call Orphans.
I am fairly new to Diamond Painting. I am working on my third canvas. My first one was Butterflies, second one Moon setting over the Pacific. I started one of Ying and Yang, but the colors in the rendering were to dark. Plus, I live in Cali, and we have more rainy days than clear days. Got out another canvas of the Solar System. Made the mistake of not checking the canvas first. Jarred all the drills. Then, when I tried to pull the Celiophane back, it would not pull back. Why you ask? Because some genius decided to pour the glue on the Celiophane instead of the rendering. Cute! So, now I am working on a very colorful one of the Sun setting behind a tree at the beach. I am going to guess either San Lois Abispo County or Monterey County.
I purchased several Diamond painting from TEMU. I also purchased one from Diamond Art Club, and one from Dreamer Designs. So, far I love what I am doing.

Sounds like you have a process that works for you! I feel your pain about the dark colours in paintings. It’s very miserable here I’m the UK right now so not much light in the evenings so I’m preferring to work on more bright colourful paintings than the darker ones.
I’m sorry you received a defective painting. Have you tried reaching out to see if the company will send you a replacement canvas?
I want to do one of the solar system too. Just looking for the perfect one 😆
I’ve just bought a DAC painting too from a destash site. Waiting patiently for it to arrive (although it’s a very very dark painting so may wait to start on that one).
TEMU isn’t available here but I have just placed another huge order with Shein for some more paintings as the quality of the ones I received last time were incredible so looking forward to that delivery too 😆

Hi Claire 😊 I have 2 of the 60 bottle cases. I luuuuuve them 😁 For the small cheapies I use the same numbering method as you do. For my HAED I have them labeled with the dmc codes. And when I get to my first DAC one day I'll use the stickers that they provide 😊 For the small kits I leave the empty bottles in. And like I mentioned yesterday, with my HAED I move my finished bottles up. But they still remain in the case, I just pull their stickers off 😊
I’m using DAC stickers but still referring back to the number order rather than symbols/alphas and for my conversion I’m working with symbols and I’m kinda getting used to it.
A lot don't have the facets on but they still sparkle I've done loads off amazon and they all turned out gr8 x
I’ve actually finished this one now (backlog of videos to get up!). And, it turned out really lovely. I’m just working on another Amazon budget one….that’s not been so successful 😭

I’ve persevering with this other Amazon one. If it’s really bad then it’ll be my first lesson about choosing something too detailed. If it comes out fab then I’ll try and have confidence in my picks in future 😆
The really static ones are resin. I don't find they look so much better after you frame them or put in a art folder and never look at them again.
Well that’s interesting to know. I haven’t fully completed a painting with resin drills (I lie, I completed a Diamond Dotz one but discounting that one)…..I haven’t had the chance to see what they look like once framed.
Some acrylic drills are better than some resin I’ve had so I’m not too hung up on what drills are supplied to be honest.
