The ingenuity of humans has no limit. Haven't seen anything like this. The sound is so amazing from simple material that has been ingeniously crafted and marvellously coordinated. Great!!!
Masya Allah kenangsn guru dan almamaterku saya ingat pernah ikuta thn 1979 konser seribu angklung acara konfrensi asia afrika. Cnduktter, langsung Pa Daeng Sutigna.
I joined a group who plays angklung around Indonesia for ten days. Since we were mostly on busses, the was lots of sitting, sleeping, talking, and card games too! and each time we perform, was a blast. These instruments engraved a wonderful memory to me.
Hi , just want to correct the info. Angklung is not Javanese instrument but Sundanese Instrument. Sundanese and Javanese share the same island, Sundanese in the West of Java (around 1/3 part of island), and Javanese in the rest of the island. They have different culture and language.
Save Data has a video about the music used for the Forrest temple and someone in the comment section brought me here. This is the “ bone rattling “ you hear in the song.
Can anyone think of another type of ensemble where the musicians only play one or two pitches each? This is a pretty unique way of making music, I think!
We also have that kind of bamboo instrument using in the Philippines. We called the performer manunugtog kawayan dates back before Spanish Era. It's goes to show that we have similarities of culture even before we're colonized by Spain.
I remember that challenge in The Amazing Race 23 where they had to assemble an angklung orchestra one contestant was so confused but everyone else got it right the first time LOL. Her husband was so mad he told her something like don't you know how much 8 is hahahahaha
"There is another beautiful instrument called the angklung, and it is from the ancient land of Indonesia. It can support the knees and joints in the leg. When people become old, they are often in pain, and they cannot walk well. Sometimes they use canes. The knees and other joints start becoming weak. The angklung can strengthen and also remove plaque on the bones. If more energy flows into that part of the body, there is more movement and blood circulation. There is more fluidity, and the person is able to move and walk." - DNA of the spirits
From sunda, not sundanese Kalau mau mengatakan saya orang Sunda, barulah sundanese bisa digunakan dengan "i'm sundanese".. Sama kayak penggunaan kalimat, saya orang Indonesia yaitu "I'm Indonesian".Tapi kalau mau bilang saya dari Indonesia yaitu "I'm from Indonesia", bukan I'm from indonesian Sekian
The Act of Killing (Indonesian: Jagal, meaning "Butcher") is a 2012 documentary film about individuals who participated in the Indonesian mass killings of 1965-1966.
people saying hindi are clowns or just deaf and lack research which should go without saying, this is actually an Indonesian song called "genjer genjer" from way back in WWII when the country was very much under Japanese empire and since has been covered by many Indonesian and other artists but ofc the exact thing is still nowhere to be found, "ua-cam.com/video/9ECW_Xlsu2A/v-deo.html" "ua-cam.com/video/nof35Gjdusw/v-deo.html" "ua-cam.com/video/85_1o0-Gv7c/v-deo.html" this is the closest thing to the DÉ DÉ MOUSE sample in which the vocals are chopped and reversed so its safe to say that this is where the original vocals came from and the ambient beat was made by DÉ DÉ MOUSE himself
I had a teacher from Indonesia for three years and he brought these. We had music class with them for three years it was pretty cool.
Which country?

50tahun yg lalu skr aku masih menikmati terima kasih ya Allah.
The skill and timing required to play only your note is amazing.
Wow, absolutely incredible, really put a smile on my face. That is unbelievably clever. So lovely to see other people's culture.
Come here because of Google Doodle??
Had a friend from Indonesia bring these over to the States when I was 12. They are so simple yet amazing. Thanks for the video. Great memories.
Thanks Doug
Ahh memories of playing in an angklung orchestra in school when I was a wee lass. Good times

I'm from Philipines and i was one of those participants of an Angklung ensemble when i was 9-10. It wasn't hard but it was fun.

+Hikmat Nugraha That is an important correction. I'll see what I can do about correcting it in the synopsis. We appreciate the information, thank you.

Wow!! Playing something by yourself is hard. But relying on 20 other people is very daunting.
I remember that challenge in The Amazing Race 23 where they had to assemble an angklung orchestra one contestant was so confused but everyone else got it right the first time LOL. Her husband was so mad he told her something like don't you know how much 8 is hahahahaha
