@@somedude5819 Undertow never worked well for me even with max range when I used his two enemies would fall out that aside undertow took away most of what we think warframe is about that being the movement system and being unable to use my weapons loadout. I actually would argue that the hydroid rework was kinda really good, like he is not just a weapons platform, he has also remained the cc that made him who he was. I think i seen this idea somewhere but id love it if hydroids four just summoned pools of water around battlefield and a cluster of tentacles emerged from them when enemies got close and pulled into the depths, similar to undertoe but several of them. It would be a roundabout way of keeping undertoe yeah, but those tentacles need something.
Im personally going to miss Undertow. I might be one of the few people that actually got enjoyment out of just sitting under objectives as a big puddle. Especially with the augment that made undertow heal things standing in it actually working on said objectives as well. It wasnt godlike levels of healing by any means, but it still felt nice to blorp down onto a hurt defense pod and slowly fix it while just also telling every melee attacker to promptly f*** off.
19:30 he didn't went from a CC frame to a weapons platform, he went from a stagnant CC and low level damage dealer to a CC and high level damage dealer, his first and fourth provide amazing CC still along with the damage, he is no less a CC frame
Id argue hydroid lost none of his crowd control, tempest barrage stun locks anything that isn't an eximus or an acolyte, and tentacle sqarm is just a better version of what it was. And imo, puddle was a joke, all it did was hold his kit back, plunder is great for increasing damage of your kit and weapons, and only sits weirdly because his stats are still shield based. The perma strip is only there because it takes all the corrosive stacks off the enemies and bases your buff off of that
The main point wanted to make was that Hildryn had received a similar ability, when DE themselves stated that they are not a fan of set and forget, when Haven is... exactly just that.
Ok but summoning the kraken over a whirlpool that constantly pulls bad guys into a tentacle swarm that’s being pelted by tempest barrage would have been awesome
Rewatching this video knowing the inaros rework is coming in three days, I think Pablo nailed it. He’s keeping inaros theme and play style, without just giving him brain dead damage.
Even though I feel sorry for the people laid off and the fanbase in general, man, I feel bitterly vindicated toward some of the toxic haters of warframe that began worshipping bungie's farts.
An idea that comes to mind, what if they visually changed undertow to enhance the horror theme. Have undertow make a water dome around Hydroid as they move, lifting enemies inside and helplessly drowning them as they are pulled along with the current. Just the idea of undertow's victims floating around you
I do agree they should of kept his undertow. But made it into the first unique crouch ability, like how some frames have unique rolls. Whenever he crouches, he goes into a puddle for as long as he wants, but can still take damage via area damage and takes more electric damage while in undertow. They could even removed his tidal surge and gave that to him as his unique roll animation and given us another ability along with plunder.
I'm agreeing it might not have been a perfect rework but no undertow shouldn't have stayed without a drain we'd just end up with a frame that can't take damage at all press a button go afk... Kinda like old defy or if League brings some warnings don't make a Yummi Warframe....
Right which is why I suggested a tune up like Cloudwalker 2.0, its a shorter duration spell that won't let Hydroid simply sit in i-frame state forever or even if the power was combined lets say as an idea, ensure that undertow would still force player out after X seconds to ensure more active play.
@@NovaUmbral The ability already exists though. It's called Tidal Surge. With its augment it's infinitely spammable and gives you i-frames and status immunity. It's also really good now at gathering up mooks. Having two similarly functioning abilities in his kit would have been redundant.
@@NovaUmbraleven with a tune up I think undertow is crap. Maybe it could have been implemented into his ultimate like the kraken eats victims or something?
They should have changed undertow so that hydroid instead of sinking, rises up on to the bow of a ship that pulls enemies under. Also tentacle swarm should be changed to follow hydroid if undertow is being used but more importantly: Jerry, the kraken, increases in size enough to wear hydroid's ship as a hat.
Radiation, mummy Radioactive decay, mummy rot Yeah I can see it! Plus pocket sand and sandstorm confusing, misdirection enemies into attacking each other It could work, but then... His existing kinda gimmick of doing true damage is really cool
@@torunsmok5890 Just let Inarnos overheal, maybe with a reworked Devour, and rework his sandstorm to being a sandstorm *aura* (maybe a new type of pseudo-exaulted weapon?), and suddenly Inaros would be a surprisingly good pick again for sheer, raw, tank, with a solid aura

It was so bad that i actually was surprised that i only had mods that were available at his prime release….
I really wanna know why Hydroid *didn't* get to keep Undertow. It was by far the most memorable part of his kit. Tidal Surge feels like a hacked off extension of Undertow that could've just been bound to the roll or bullet jump of Undertow. Drowning enemies was sick. If Grendel gets to eat them, why can't Hydroid drown them?
your ember story reminded me of wukong too. At his release, wukong was my favorite warframe, and I knew full well he wasn't the best by any means, so when they reworked him and gutted defy in favor of celestial twin, it left a bad taste in my mouth that he become the most popular warframe ever for a while, and then they renerfed his 4, and then they nerfed the twin, so now all he's actually good for is moving with his 2. hes still super popular, but hes not the wukong I once knew.

Adding vortex to Hydroid's Undertow would simply make it similar to Yareli's 4 and somehow Inaros's 3. I think DE tried hard to keep the undertow to just for his theme but the concept of being stationary was simply counter-intuitive for the whole gameplay. However, I agree that the kraken needs to be released

The moment I saw this I had to drop my video editing dude. Can’t miss my Nova fix.
Lets talk about this man crediting people's footage! Mad Respect for ya! And the video is rad man! Keep it up!
Small correction to the intro Excaliburs blind on slide attack does cost energy
19:30 he didn't went from a CC frame to a weapons platform, he went from a stagnant CC and low level damage dealer to a CC and high level damage dealer, his first and fourth provide amazing CC still along with the damage, he is no less a CC frame
*cries in space dragon*
Does chroma really count as a dragon
He kinda just wears a dragon pelt almost like doctor strange cloak
@@noahedenborg4221 shhh, at least let him have this
chroma is already useless, you dont have to beat him more
Id argue hydroid lost none of his crowd control, tempest barrage stun locks anything that isn't an eximus or an acolyte, and tentacle sqarm is just a better version of what it was.
And imo, puddle was a joke, all it did was hold his kit back, plunder is great for increasing damage of your kit and weapons, and only sits weirdly because his stats are still shield based. The perma strip is only there because it takes all the corrosive stacks off the enemies and bases your buff off of that
His plunder ability buffs the corrosive damage of his 4th attack (at least in my experience), so it synergizes very well with his 4th ability.
Note: Ember got her World On Fire nerf before Hildryn was released
Undertow was never fun and never worked correctly. Like I just hate the puddle so much.
I can't imagine Valkyr getting a rework ever
We can only hope…😢
@@mueezyusuf7181 Yeah, but at least she isn't too bad at the moment
7:33 No that is literally not a rework. Numbers changes are balance changes. Not a rework
An idea that comes to mind, what if they visually changed undertow to enhance the horror theme. Have undertow make a water dome around Hydroid as they move, lifting enemies inside and helplessly drowning them as they are pulled along with the current. Just the idea of undertow's victims floating around you
So a water bubble that lifts enemy's dealing dmg
Hmm that's neat
Right which is why I suggested a tune up like Cloudwalker 2.0, its a shorter duration spell that won't let Hydroid simply sit in i-frame state forever
or even if the power was combined lets say as an idea, ensure that undertow would still force player out after X seconds to ensure more active play.
Ha you did it sooner than I thought
Making a hydroid video after the rework
Embers 2nd rework/adjustments and augments has made her one of the strongest AOE frames in the game. It's wild that people sleep on her still
kind of impressed grendel didn't even get a mention in this video
Didn't wanna make this video too long but I have plans to discuss grendel in greater detail in the future
I actually have a prediction for inaros. He's going to be radiation based similar to how hydroid is corrosive based and grendel is toxin based
Radiation, mummy
Radioactive decay, mummy rot
Yeah I can see it! Plus pocket sand and sandstorm confusing, misdirection enemies into attacking each other
It could work, but then... His existing kinda gimmick of doing true damage is really cool
@@torunsmok5890
Just let Inarnos overheal, maybe with a reworked Devour, and rework his sandstorm to being a sandstorm *aura* (maybe a new type of pseudo-exaulted weapon?), and suddenly Inaros would be a surprisingly good pick again for sheer, raw, tank, with a solid aura
@@torunsmok5890 That's just Nyx 2.0
Love Hydroid's rework because I love weapons platform warframes.
I wonder who is gonna get reworked next
I Miss Old Ember...
My boi hydroid made the grade. I am grateful for lord Pablo. Hopefully future reworks get the same luv.
Nice video btw🎉
Undertow made Hydroid viably bypass detection on stealth missions, just so long as he didn't have to deal with slants.
I wish DE keep his undertow ability and give us an option to let hydroid switch his abilities from plunder to undertow just like other warframes switchable abilities (vauban, ivara, and xaku).
a corrosive undertow could scale really hard
tap tidal surge hold undertow would be fire
@@fran99080 that reminds me to lavos's 3rd and somehow zephyr's 4th that could make sense and feel good to play
i'm sure rebeca would love your idea(she wanted to place undertow into helminth sistem but the team decided not to, well i agree that it could be weird)
i'd prefer tap for tidal surge since you want to go fast, and hold for undertow like you said
The ember question is really interesting actually... I wonder where she would be if she hadn't been targeted for a nurf....
Valkyr's 1 and 3 immediately come to mind lol
The only thing i'd of fixed with undertow is that it just spit out enemies instead of holding onto them when you move. So you were basically stuck in one place till everything in your puddle died.
it was a sad day for me when the puddle got removed
that singular ability was what made me go out of my way to get Piss Puddle Prime while he was vaulted for platinum and enjoy trolling ppl in defense
“Hydroid turned himself into a puddle! Can you believe it? It was the funniest shit I’ve ever seen!”
All those frames getting major upgrades while my boy atlas is crying in a corner with his not so good damage and only 2 real good abilities on his kit.
You must not be building him correctly. Give him the right stat stick and he can easily one shot most enemies. Even hours into a Steel Path endurance.
I haven’t played Hydroid in the past because of his lackluster power and slow build up compared to other frames. Yes it might not be be the best rework as you said but it is miles better than what he was, i really got to finally get him a loadout, some formas onto him, a decent and little bit more expensive build than what i had on him.
I kinda miss world on fire. I enjoyed seeing enemies burst into flames as I launch past them much more than her current 4
Absolutely my new main(hydroid)
Reworks never get people excited until pablo says he's designing it
He gave the most bullshit answer on getting rid of undertow imo
I’m waiting for chroma to get a rework, he’s honestly my favorite frame his 1 needs to change and maybe his 4
my boi frost needs some love
your ember story reminded me of wukong too. At his release, wukong was my favorite warframe, and I knew full well he wasn't the best by any means, so when they reworked him and gutted defy in favor of celestial twin, it left a bad taste in my mouth that he become the most popular warframe ever for a while, and then they renerfed his 4, and then they nerfed the twin, so now all he's actually good for is moving with his 2. hes still super popular, but hes not the wukong I once knew.
wukong is brokenly op atm
What are you talking about? Wukong was just a useless Defy bot before his rework. Now he has a full and useful kit that makes him great at the vast majority of content. You're just salty that you can't AFK with him anymore.
@@AlvinEarthworm did you read any of what I said???
@@Zarkator don't mind him the fucker is a troll. I feel and understand what you mean, everything that you liked about your favorite frame gets changed so it turns into just a painful reminder
@@Zarkator Yes I did. You said he was your favorite frame on release, which obviously meant you loved his ability to not die. Then they changed him into something where you actually needed to use your brain in order to play him and that made you sad. Awwww diddums. Git gud, scrub!
And for your information, he's still OP even after the nerfs. So stop talking crap!
I love the more informational type of content you make. But i have a question. Is it inspired by the vars guy from lol?
When Oberon got reworked there was a gigantic pool of Oberon rework feedback threads telling DE that he needed more help. Unfortunately DE didn't listen to those people and Oberon is just as mediocre as he was before his rework. A master of nothing, and the butt of all support related jokes.
5:10 honestly that's just public lobbies in Warframe. No Timmy I don't wanna spend longer than I have to on a level 15 exterminate I'm just here for the fissure. But then again I pretty much only play steel path
Hydroid, is he a pirate? A kraken? Or an avatar of the ocean? It's either all of it or none of it, we will never know....
The new ember world on fire now is Gauss' thermal sunder
Whats the frame concept shown at 15:02 ?
It's funny cuz I've been telling my clan that most reworks are basically just "change element = rework" . This doesn't mean that reworks are bad but some feel miniscule
6:23 Nice Sonic Frontiers ost 😮
Man i miss Em's World on Fire.
Yeah i see why it was replaced but i loved Ember as she was, overpowered or not. The drama around her deluxe skin didn't help either.
Love your video. 1+ sub. 👏👏👏
Remember When rhino iron skin used duration?
Then changed and became worthless
Then the rework today.
I remember, I was there at every aspect, and I never dropped Rhino.
Been my main for well over 10 years.
This man. Hydroid went from episode 1 luffy to gear 5 th luffy 😂. The change is crazy
Hydroid is by far the best rework of all of them.
I agree so well with the hydroid rework. I wish we still had puddle. the rework was great absolutely power crazy frame. But really I wish they made puddle more useful so that people would fear the deep blue instead of worry they will be caught in the rain
The puddle was crap. Hydroid is better off without it.
9:00 I got totally taken out of it when I saw *his* name.
What about Trainman?
Love this man keep it up what next warframe
Water does corrode, especially water from the ocean
My clan leader found a way to make puddle extremely broken. He found a way to do millions in damage with its tick
How
@@comradeoctober2836 the ticks scaled up with damage enemies take in the puddle, so he used the penta on the floor and puddled over it with max range. The ticks would do something like 10% * (100 + previous damage on enemies) * number of enemies in puddle.
@@tomf3373 that's really badass, so it would work with ogris night watch napalm and the zenith pistol thing to a lesser extent then?
I knew why Ember got *burnt* so bad was cause the noobs started bitching about her.
inaros sould be reworked into the "swarm" frame
valkyr main still waiting for update be like
Odd that you didnt talk about the less good reworks like Vauban, Nyx and at the time Titania before she got much better.
I'd say Nyx has never really gotten a full rework, just a couple changes to some abilities, which aside from the one to her 2 were pretty minor
I wish we'd get a shift away from dmg meta. Unless you're the frame yourself, frames like Saryn, Equinox, hell even Volt are so boring to play with. You might as well stand still and make lunch cause you'll get nothing done. Especially not as a new player. Honestly I would love to see frames like Trinity somehow get more fame again. Or maybe more CC again like a Vauban
CC is never going to be popular again as long as Eximus units exist. This is why everything is switching to a damage focused meta.
I’m going miss undertow 😢
2:41 man sometimes even modern warframes are dead on arrival Yareli for example, absolutely horrible. Yes, they reworked her but she’s still terrible
He doesn't match thematically but he's still crazy fun with a lot of weapons so I'm not complaining.
how about we get FoV REWORK ? is it to much to ask....
i need more inaros rework talk
4:15 Valkyr... ;_;
still waiting for a proper Chroma rework
Honestly i like the changes, but ill forever miss and repress the choice of removing puddle.
They could remove the surf as it was useless but puddle was my dearly
For me personally hydroid it much better but..... He still feels the same.
Unlike when wukong got a rework, he got stronger and felt completely different.
Am glad hydroid finally got a rework and is stronger but he doesn't feel like he has changed at all
He can actually kill things now. Seems like a big change to me.
Street fighter 3 second impact ost 👍
Nice. Now we need a frost rework. And inaros. And nyx.... and a lot more.
Do u think we will have more reworks? I mean, without waiting YEARS,of course. I'd do one thing, and call me crazy but... what if DE just stops making new wfs for a time aaaand starts making more reworks? Idk. I would love it. I feel there are too much warframes and reworks might revitalize the game more even than new warframes so...? I know I know, dreaming is free and DE probably wont do this,I dont even think we will have any rework in the next..1 year?2? Anyway.
Praise based god Pablo
