I have tons of photos that could have been taken right from your video. Ah, the memories. 30+ years in the Eureka area, now in Arizona... what a change!
as someone who moved from FL to CA, i have to say the beaches up here in the north state are absolutely beautiful and in my opinion much more enjoyable vs down south where everything is just vacationers 24/7 and flat. i plan to make the trip out to humboldt at some point so i can see trinidad (cant believe ive never been after seeing this video!) and eventually i want to visit oregon since im so close and want to add a 6th state to my list of ones i have been to.
Wonderful video! Beautifully filmed, nicely paced, lovely music and great variety of things to do. Found this while planning a solo female hiking trip to the area. Will def search out these trails and that mashed potato waffle cone. Thx!
@@lindseyhikesandtravels Well I can't because I am allergic to gluten, but I think my children want to now, after seeing your video. I am just wondering if you purposely picked a "weird" food because you're a UA-camr or if you're a really big fan of mashed potato waffle cones, and they're "a thing" I've never heard of. That restaurant has actually been bought and sold numerous times and each owner has changed the menu drastically. The last time I ate there years ago it was more of a fried fish with a side of burgers restaurant than a burgers and bacon with a side of fish and chips restaurant. If you didn't do it on purpose, you may have accidentally eaten the "weirdest" food in Humboldt County.
I just saw it on the menu and wanted to try it. I eat a pescatarian diet so I'm limited with what I can have on menus and this item was vegetarian. And it sounded good so I wanted to give it a try!
@@lindseyhikesandtravels It's funny that you happened to eat it there because I do not eat Pork or Gluten and the last time I went there, when it was owned by different people with a different menu, was with my now 7 year old son when he was 6 months old, and they got gluten and bacon into my food, and I never published the video because when we got home my boyfriend was crying, my favorite cat had died. So I was so bent outa shape over the cat, I never published the video of my bad restaurant experience. But honestly, there's a youtube niche that's eating weird foods, and even though you didn't intend to do so you might as well have... you could get a few extra views by just eating something that seems a bit odd at the end of every video, then you're not just the UA-camr who tours beaches but the one who eats some unique food at the end. People really like that stuff.
Hi Lindsey, as always really enjoyed the video. Not sure how far down the coast you are going, but if make to the Monterey, the aquarium is the main attraction, think might enjoy it.

Thank you so much! ☺
I've lived here for 20 years, somehow unaware that the Lighthouse Grill sold "Mashed Potato Waffle Cones."
You should try it! 😎

Awesome video. The scenery is gorgeous!
It was stunning!
If its the lost coast, how did you find it?
Not the lost coast. That's in the next video! It's a secret how we found it.
