My last 2 visits to the store closing near me have been horrible, they truly have the worst employees. edit: Wanted to throw this in regarding pricing. 5% off is a joke, they had multiple amps (floor models, used by people) that were marked higher than brand new on Sweetwater. Multiple 100s higher, pretty despicable to see. They also had broken amps up front that I was looking at buying to repair. They RAISED the prices on them, and removed the broken verbiage. Not sure what's going on there but like you said, this is why the store is closing.
Yup its absolutely awful. I mean I was chatting with some other customers in the store yesterday and we agreed why would anyone buy beat up floor models at 5% from a closing business when you could call any online competitors and get 10-15% off actual new in box 📦 condition? Makes no sense
@@TopShelfGear I can’t say I’m surprised. Whatever they have left over will likely go to their main warehouse for the online store. They use those “everything must go” signs to try and get a few final door swings before the inevitable happens.
I was just able to buy my dream guitar at Sam Ash (New Taylor 912ce Builders Edition) which retails for $5,999 for 45% off. The trick was to negotiate it via their reverb account. After two counter offers they accepted my price and immediately placed the order. Big win! 🤘😎
Double edge sword. Tensions will be bitter, there's people loosing their jobs. The company stock is what you should be aware of, not everything will be discounted in the way most closing down sales used to operate. The liquidator wants their money, so either they'll try and claw it back in the final days or it'll be that the supplier owns the stock and not the store owner itself. Remember it's the store closing, so this product could easily be moved elsewhere generally online or similar

Talk about picked clean. Sucks about the wait. It's why I don't go to my local GC anymore it took 15 min for set of strings. I ended up just going online after that. Sweetwater is the way now.

I've been to the Manhattan store 3 times since they initially announced their closing....so far, all I have purchased is a drum head. Nothing was really discounted. But each time I went back, there was less and less gear. I think they're up to like 20% off now. They're milking it! Trying to get whatever they can before they really start with insane discounts. Sad that they are closing nonetheless. They never really had an online presence, which in the long run hurt em as well.

And just on the off chance something happened, and you didn't.. they'll send you a shipping label, and literally send the Driver to your door to pick it up. But that almost never happens. And guess what? Same retail prices... and they take 10% off or more.... almost every single time. I used to love going in Sam Ash. But... that ended years ago. A real shame, b'c I am a "go to the store" kind of guy.
