This was my first Bond film.
I was so blown away by the whole adventure and action sequences.
What a great memory.
I saw that as my first 007 movie as a kid....
Now I’m 63 and taking my 11 yr old son to see his first big screen Bond movie
“No time to die”.....
I think the movie will give us that extra special Bond 😎
RIP Sean Connery (1930-2020)
Hahah lol
@@Reverse_Goat Dude, not funny!
@@TMX1138 but I find it funny though.
@@Reverse_Goat It’s bad taste! You shouldn’t mock real life people dying!
@@TMX1138 it’s a opinion. I think he was served was justice.
Hollywood needs to bring back movie trailers that give away the entire movie, haha. On a real note, I still love this movie.
What are you talking about? Almost every time there’s a plot twist it’s in the trailer now
Why not? They spend zillions on the dramatic chases and special effects and want to show them off
james bond and moneypenny never got together she is not ugly there was a scene where moneypenny and james bond kissed the movie where hallee berry was in

I will always defend this absolute blast of a film. It’s the kind of campy spy fun I want from a Bond movie, and Diamonds are Forever delivers.
One of the most vibrant Bond movie ever.
Don't you just love the echo when the narrator says "forever" ? 😁
Best James Bond film with Sean Connery in my opinion..I loved it

I enjoyed this movie a lot.
In fact it’s one of my favorite Connery Bond Films
Sean Connery will always remain the greatest Bond. I haven't seen this film for many years but I am going to take a look at it again soon. Anyway, I think that the visual style of the Sixties as well as the general look of that decade at least up until around 1967 fits Bond the most and therefore Sean Connery's first five Bond films are the quintessential Bond films, at least for me.
I agree that the character fits best in the cold war era of the 50's and 60's, as he was originally written. But I have the admit that the producers did brilliantly to reinvent the character time and time again and make him fit the later decades.
@@dstfno Yes it's very clever
You know despite all the silliness and ignorance towards On Her Majesty’s Service,Diamonds Are Forever is still a really exceptional and fun Bond film.
I agree, even considering the fact that there is not much action, the movie itself is soo weird that i can't do nothing more than simply like it. Majority of tacky stuff in this movie works for me because it's not(except for intro, elevator scene and dead body of Plenty) treat itself seriously so i can easily enjoy it.
BAHA?!?! I haven't got anything in Baha!
Tell him he's farred!
Diamonds was OK, Connery was really doing this for the $$$ but we can only wonder what this would’ve been like had George Lazenby come back
Agree. Probably the most fun Bond ever. It's more of a satire than a srious action film and in that regard, works just fine. The dialogue is the best of the entire series.
@@jonburrows8602 I feel the same way. Diamonds is a lampoon of the series.

facets. This trailer really makes it clear that this film is trash. Unusual marketing technique
After Lazenby, the producers actually signed John Gavin from Hitchcock's Psycho to play Bond but when Connery agreed to come back, Gavin was paid out of his contract.
First James Bond 007 movie that I ever saw! I can't remember what it was, but the theatre showed some Elvis Presley movie with this right after it! I stayed in there & watched this movie after the Elvis one -- later being told by the theatre staff that I shouldn't have been in there for it at age 12! Still, it set my mind to think of Sean Connery any time that someone mentions James Bond 007!
Downtown Vegas sure looked different back then.
Connery really seemed like he aged a lot in just a few short years.
But then he kept the same white-beareded look since the 80s
@@venturatheace1 True! It's like he changed overnight and then stayed exactly the same for the next 30 years.
He was oniy 40 but looked 60.
That accent came in hard and fast too.
When the big reveal was made and he stepped in at the pool I thought for a second it was James Bonds Dad. He did look really aged, rounder face rounder body and obvious toupee lol
Im probably one of the few who really liked this Bond movie.
Robin MX I like it too. I enjoyed mr Wint and Kidd,Diamond smuggling,Willard Whyte stuff and all silly for laugh scenes like moon hoax or bambi and thumper.
You're not the only one. I take DAF for what it was, a campy Vegas act.
I know it's a really bad movie, but i like it a lot, it's one of my favorites
Robin MXZ it’s one of my favorite Connery bond films
I like it too.
So glad they talked Connery into coming back and doing this one. At 41 he was not too old in any way (he changed very little in nine years since the first Bond film) At the time I lived 300 miles from Las Vegas so it is nice to see how it once was. Great seeing this at a drive-in theater in 1971. Shirley Bassey's title song is one of my favorite Bond songs.
Disagree, he has really aged here
@@Barbarian646 His weight, unshaven eye brows, lousy hairpiece, and the way he dressed made Connery look at least half a dozen years older than he was.
@@ricardocantoral7672 Hairpiece was good. Way better than 1983 NSNA hairpiece.

We miss sir sean connery he was a legendary actor
Sean was 41 here but he was still convincing, if you have it you have it despite the age . Sean had it , and pierce had it from a very envious young man
Light 106 year 41 is quite young, especially when you consider Moore was still having a crack when he was 58. (Way too old.) Bond actors should retire at 50.
Rip Sean Connery 😔
Rip Sean Connery
This is a really fun Bond movie, even if Sean Connery really hates being in the picture. But he does have a maturity and added depth that adds to the formula. I'm not sure if this equals his first five Bond movies, as this is where the series seems to veer into Austin Powers territory, but it's definitely worth watching.
Actually, 90% of the Austin Powers gags are inspired by the Connery era. But I get what you mean :)
@@dstfno Thunderball and You Only Live Twice, mostly.

Wow right. Cool.
Simply the best James Bond.👍👍👍
The real James Bond "Sean Connery" was back in this movie which I saw when it was first released in a movie theatre and the audience at that screening (and most likely all screenings) was glad to have Sean back as Bond!
2:14 goosebumps everytime.
Still can’t believe this is 50 years old!
It’s one of the most fun entries for me in the series
Yes Sean Connery grew tired of the tile at this point but there’s a lot of campy fun in this
Each scene gets more wackier and I’m glad we see more of Blofeld in this
Tiffany is one of my fav Bond girls and Shirley Bassey’s vocals feel naturally tethered to this
too bad the bad guys were actually bad guys and they got fat paid & famous instead of retribution

Diamonds Are Forever is a middle finger to the dramatic ending of On Her Majesty's Secret Service. This trailer makes Blofeld like Kenny from South Park.

Avoozl great movie..in contrast to the cheap cartoony diamonds..who's only saving Grace was the music and cinimatography
@@AvoozlPlays idiot,go back to your Chewbacca toy.
Diamonds Are Forever is one of the middling yet seemingly hated and thus underrated James Bond films.
I admit I still SUPER-WISH Sean Connery had done "On Her Majesty's Secret Service." This still was a good one to go out on.
It had some really cool parts, including straight-up murder (allegedly) of Blofield, one of the best opening songs, some pretty
cool showcasing of actual real technology being used/introduced on the market. The unsuspecting moment of the two girls
placed who started beating the crap out of him was also well done. The oil right climax was also well done.
I never would call this one "middling" given it's campy nature.
@@ricardocantoral7672 Being campy is part of its appeal. Where is the rule that says all Bond films must be dead serious?
@@jonburrows8602 I didn't say that. I was just saying that this one really goes over the top with the campy aspects.
Lots of people seem to hate Diamonds are Forever but it’s one of my favourite Bonds (although the oil rig shootout at the end is a bit of a letdown).
Want to see those classic bond movies in cinema
Jill St John is my favorite Bond Girl, she was so beautiful.
I remember when I was 7 playing outside and my father called out we were going to see this- I screamed "James BOMB!!"
Sean Connery is the best James bond
My All time favorite movie wonderful superb great. James bond.. Sean connary
Huge fun, this one. Connery gets to show his gift for humour a lot more in this one, which is enjoyable. It’s sad the world wasn’t quite ready for the darker style of Bond film we saw in OHMSS, but Guy Hamilton really rescued the series at the time with his fun approach. Diamonds doesn’t deserve its lacklustre reputation. Connery was still the boss.
not a huge fan of Diamonds are Forever, but that shot 2:16... damn.
It's arguably the best shot of the entire Connery-era
At 1.55, look closely at Connery in the gunbarrel sequence and you can see him smile at the camera!!
The best of all bonds
How can Sean Connery look old and young at the same time???
Best Sean connery
My first James Bond's movie
R.I.P.
He will always be shaken but never stirred.
Connery and Moore were the best .
I remember renting "You Only Live Twice" on VHS...and it had this trailer for DAF before the movie started.
I absolutely loved this movie and found it to be very entertaining. I admit Sean Connery got way out of shape in this movie but I'll take him in this movie than Roger Moore in any of his movies. I really don't get why some people didn't like it. It may not have been Sean Connery's best movie but it was fabulous - a great car chase scene in that Red Mustang, he got the crap beat out him by two chicks and a great fight scene in the elevator. One thing is certain, it was far better than Roger Moore's pathetic first two movies - Live And Let Die & The Man With The Golden Gun, which were absolutely horrible. Roger Moore really redeemed himself in The Spy Who Loved Me though. Sean Connery was the greatest James Bond actor of all time, nobody comes close.
Each to his own apparently. I think Roger Moore's first movie was one of his best, before he and the producers started making a parody out of it.
I thought Live And Let Die was just horrible. I hate everything about except Jane Seymour.
Live and Let Die was pretty bad compared to every Connery 007 film
@@ogloc6308 I agree with you 100%. Beautifully & accurately said.
You poor person. Pity on you
I hate the fact that this movie forgot the events are the previous film on her majesty's secret service they made out that but never got married when he did in the previous movie before this
Considering the fact the plot was ruined by a pathetic excuse of an actor playing Bond I don't blame them.
+Luke Beck: As I said to you, they didn't forget the events of _OHMSS_, it's all at the beginning.
+Yoo Hoo
Well, then you´ve always been mistaken.
I think James Bond is an alias. OHMSS is about another agent using the same name.
I love this film. I pretty much liked all the Bond's up thru the Dalton Bond's.

That’s you THINK you saw happen
@@niecolatrinken5941 -- I know the movie better than ALL of you. I'm a movie reviewer, girlies! I'm commenting on the fact that at the time of this movie's release, they banked on the fact that everyone knew who Blofeld was, and yet they are showing him being killed in the trailer. Deception or not, it's kind of naff, because you want to draw people in thinking there is going to be a grand battle between two nemeses, not a quick kill.
The trailer clearly shows Blofeld being killed twice, after the numerous Blofeld masks are revealed. So there's obviously more going on here
RIP Duke sean Connery
Jeez Connery was only 41 at this time

@jquest43 Sean Connery Was Born in August 1930. Thus in 1971 He Was 41-year-old.
Now he have 90, wow
@classiccarz only older by 3 years
Being in Her Majesty'sSecret Service would of been a great end to his time as Bond
If he had played in O.H.M.S.S. his apperance and perfomance in D.A.F. fits perfectly, after Tracy's death. Also he could play in ''Live and Let Die'' (producers wanted him), if the film was made in 1972 to celebrate ten years of Bond films.

Nicholas Bret you are wrong
George Lazenby would return as James Bond 007 in 1971's "Diamonds Are Forever", but he rejected it and quit, so, Sean Connery went back to the role as James Bond 007 in 1971's "Diamonds Are Forever".

you only live twice was supposed to be sean connery's last bond film, but after george lazenby decided not to do a 2nd bond film after wrapping up on her majesty's secret service they decided to get sean connery back. It took a lot of money to persuade him back into the role for this movie, a good chunk of the film's budget was just to get sean connery back.
