@VidAudioJojo...When I lived in Guam the majority of people did not want Independence, but wanted to remain with The U.S either through Status Quo or become a U.S Commonwealth.
Out here in The U.S Mainland, every person I meet who's from Guam or The CNMI want our islands to remain with the U.S.,because we know their are way more advantages in remaining with The United States.

@@sagittariusone2753, I hear you. The Philippines had exactly the same sentiments/arguments before independence. However, they were overwhelmingly about material advantages. There are more things on heaven and earth, Guam, than are dreamt of in that philosophy.

@@VidAudioJojo .....To be honest I just don't trust The Local Government of Guam in complete control of the island's affairs, and growing up in Guam as a Chamorro-American was good.

It was discovered that being a Commonwealth of the US is NOT Decolonization. and not CHamoru self-determination. It is a colonial status.

Looking forward to your video on the reasons the commonwealth act was rejected. The way I remember it was that governor Ada refused to negotiate any of the terms of the act, saying something along the lines of it was what the people voted for and therefor not negotiable. If I remember correctly that discussion was with the department of the interior. After that it was always rejected because there was some provision in the act that the US just wouldn't agree to. Not remembering at this point what that provision or provisions were. Thanks for your voice on Guam.

Thank you for sharing another informative video! I like how you presented the public laws and other records to narrate the history of what happened with the Commonwealth Act and the next steps and implications, still ongoing in some ways.

whats your stance on the removal of the mwaar on the CNMI flag?

We are not indigenous to the CNMI. Satawal is where we are from plain and simple.

@@gatekeeper3660 I wish it was that simple. I have no ties with Satawal and im sure thats the same for other Refaluwasch. I am CNMI born/raised, same with my parents, and their parents too. and we have history here despite not being indigenous. we are not from satawal but rather descend from satawal. we are from the CNMI

@@kaitaman2748 Descendants from Caroline islands yes. I was born and raised in Tanapag and so were my parents but even I understand that we are originally from the Caroline islands. Chamorros have settled here for thousands of years prior to our origins. 1815 compared to 3600 hundred years ago is all you need to understand. 1815 is not that long ago in terms of established culture and the literal term indigenous.

@@kaitaman2748 only being on a place for 209 years is not indigenous in any culture and our people need to comprehend that. We have origins to be proud of and the Chamorros do too so at least I can come to terms of what their people have endured through the Spanish times. We didn’t even help them fight to the Spaniards to be putting this much effort into a flag lol come on.

Look at the culture of the Chamorro people and the administrations they have been under. In the CNMI Spain, Japan, Germany, and the USA. The indigenous Chamorros have that right. It was a political stunt under 200 years of occupation to be calling for indigenous rights is nonsense my brother. I’m only half Carolinian and half black but know that we really have no qualms in a debate of years tied to the lands.
