Heat test the floor of the tent so we can get a sense of how much heat the light is giving our plants, please!!!
I actually almost got rid of the heat test entirely since reflection throws off the reading. Although, people still want to see what the fixture heats up to. If I aim it at the reflective floor it won't be accurate and not useful unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion though.
HEY CHRIS.
I have the TS3000 with 2 Mean Well drivers. QUESTION:
What plug do I take out to adjust the light intensity.? The VO or the IO. ??
@@kellyhill4410 Depending on the driver it may need external dimming, just find the data sheet on your driver n it will let you know what you need to do.
@@GardenTalkwithMrGrowIt ok
Mars is straight up crushing it with this light
I just ordered my SP3000 a few days ago. I'll be using it in a 2x4 tent for a few autoflowers.
How many are you auto plants do you do in your 2x4?
Ohm_Eye_God You can check my video out there freaking trash I thought they were good I’m gonna have to do a par test with an apogee 600, their numbers are always inflated.
@@DannyMumbles 3
@@MidMOGrower I've had nothing but success with my sp250, pulling over 1 gram per watt, and I expect the same with the sp3000
I pull 1.46g/w in a 4x4 with 2 sp250s
Just got a couple of these from them as well. It's like they just run through the channels lol. Good test dude, I'll be referencing this one in my review
Thanks for sharing I been watching everyone that been into LEDs for the last 13 years- When migro tested the Mars quantum board with the Epistar led and the full spectrum I told him it won't be long before Mars make the best led because they have experience in led technology
I have been using a mars hydro sp150 for a veg light for a little while now and love it. Definitely stepped up there game with the sp series.
Got my sp3000 a few weeks ago, I am loving it!
What it do to you electric bill
@@cmamsler I am only running it at 60% atm, but it is only 300 watts at 100%. I honestly haven't noticed. But it will not upnir that much.
Devin D nice. Have u used it in flower or just veg ect
@@cmamsler veg right now, flipping in a bit less than 2 weeks, I do have one auto under it that is loving life at 60% that is about 2 weeks into flower
Devin D awesome let me know how it goes!!!
Even being 1.5 inches closer, the PAR was about 100+ less from their advertised output in a 2'x4'. I am a fan of Mars Hydro though. Great video. A lot of good information.
Thanks a lot, this helps. Can you make a video explaining how to veg with a dimmer at like 50%?
I got the sp250 a year ago and then they put this out. Now I want a new light.
I have an sp250 and i have to say, for a cheap light, its perfect for a 2x4
Sp3000 will Crush anything in that tent 👍👍👊✌
Mars Hydro quality and QC is sub par. I bought two of these lights based on all the good reviews. I ended up with one light that would only hit 254w from the wall and the other hitting 279w. I am fine with the 279w even though both are below rated spec but when I have them maxed out for flower, they give off uneven light. It isn't a huge disparity, but these lights aren't cheap. I expect the promised rated wattage out of the box. I think they only QC review samples. I shouldn't have to remove the drivers and adjust the CP ADJ.
Per Mars Hydro: For the SP 3000 and SP 6500 lights, the previous version is with IR and UV chips. Since March, we have moved the IR and UV from the SP 3000, SP 6500, and FC 6500 lights. Also, the new FC-E6500 light doesn't have IR and UV chips. The reason is that these lights' main customers are personal growers who pursue the best results or the commercial project customers; they prefer to independently control the IR and UV lights time, don't need the IR and UV chips on the light itself. Mars Hydro also will issue independent IR and UV lights in the second half of the year.
900 PAR at 18 inches! you can flower at 900 PAR! This Light Is A Beast! Imagine dropping this down to 12 inches. This is more power than any plant can probably even handle, if you leave it at 100% power and lowered it to the 12 inches you would most likely get light burn on the tips of your leafs and that amount of light would end up tipping to the other side of the scale and it would end up doing more harm than good so if you are running a 2x4 tent this is the best possible light you can buy and if you were to find a more powerful light it would not matter because for a 2x4 tent if you go any bigger than the Mars Hydro SP 3000 you are just paying for more power that you will never use!
Would you use this light in a 2x4 tent on 100%? What would you run it at?
Great video man! Fairly evenly spread light, good to know
Thanks!
What do you think of 2 mars hydro ts1000 in a 2x4? Would the par test be similar to the sp3000 you think? Btw thank you for the awesome video!
Thank you
Looks like a keeper Mr Grow It!
do these have better par /coverage then the spider farmer 2000s ?
Just got me a sp 3000 for my autos
I like the light, not a big fan of the hanging mechanism which is pretty flimsy compared to my sf1000
Digging that LoFi
Great vid
Will you be posting a grow with this light?
I was thinking about it. Not sure yet.
Go on !
🙏🏼
Awesome
Love the content! I was wondering..Are you the author of- mr grow it, 7 steps to grow cannabis? on Amazon audible? Cheers
Thanks! Yes, that is me. I hope my book has helped you 🌱
@@GardenTalkwithMrGrowIt I've listened to it multiple times! Anyone that is getting started or even experienced growers, I highly recommend it!
Dr Coco from the Migro camp just tested this light it out preformed the Mighty Growcraft X-330 in a 2x4 with Zero reflection floors and walls its the best light in a 2x4 area they ever tested at any price
Thanks for the heads up. I saw the one he did on the SP3000 but didn't see the one he did on the X3. I'll have to check it out. Both Dr. Coco and Migro are excellent resources for information on lighting. Cheers!
@@GardenTalkwithMrGrowIt - (Just in time) did the X3 test The test from Dr. Coco has proven that the SP-3000 is for my farm I'll definitely buy several and save thousands of dollars no need to watch anymore led lights for a few years the Sp-3000 coverage par and color spectrum is all Mars and Killed the USA made Growcraft X330@$729 a pop for 300 watts and $939 for 480 Watts a dam Shame the Mars is $399 a pop with the best Asian Meanwell drivers and Samsung diode's on the planet🤐
Super nice for a 2x4! Great video peace bro
I was thinking of replacing my 1000 watt hps lights for 2 ts3000 lights and seing 9f unget the same results ! I wonder
Can this light be used for the seedling too harvest
Yes but remember your distance and intensity levels. I went from seed to mother to clones using this light.
Think maybe these are better with multiple units over a larger area. That's a pretty steep drop-off from the center to the door.
Consider that the door is open.
These lights actually have like the BEST even distribution over any competition in a 2x4, and 2 of them in a 4x4 same result.
Does it make sense to get the SP6500 and pay an extra $400? In a 2' by 4' by 6' grow tent what benefits would the SP6500 have over the SP3000 for growing?
SP6500 is over kill for a 2x4 unless your going to use CO2.
Please can someone tell me what fan size (how many cfm or m3/h) should I use in a 4x4x8 tent with 2 SP3000 ?
I've researched a lot but everyone says different things and has their own way of calculating it, so I'm kinda lost...
I'd really REALLY appreciate it, thank you.
Is this for a 2’x4’ ?
up-to 2x5 flowering but many growers put into a 2x4.
I building a 2x4. I’m stuck between the Mars sp3000 or the GROW Light Science grow 300. About the same price w online discounts. Any thoughts ?
I’m also planning a 2x4 grow and was planning on getting the sp3000. I never heard of grow light science till I seen your comment, so I went and checked them out. After watching a few YT videos they have posted on their website one being a side by side comparison to the sp3000
I’m convinced the grow 300 is a way better light than the sp3000
@@trademark256 the par map corner coverage is the best I’ve seen.
@@aicdav68 In the comparison video they showed the sp3000 only pulling about 265w from the wall at 120v. The driver even says it does 300w at 200v or more, plus I’ve seen more then a few reviews complaining about that so now I’m really leaning into the grow 300
Is there something better for 4x2?
Optic slim 320h maybe but it's 125dolars more expensive
just got a SP 3000 from Amazon and it only pulls 369 watts. They do not test them or do not care. I think everyone needs to test their lights. I am sending it back for a new one.
China turns every product they make disposable
It's only supposed to pull 300 watts so you got a good driver genius.
🤦♂
Hey Mr grow it, I'm in need of a good light for my 4x4 tent. If you have a extra laying around it would be awesome if you would donate it to a good cause. Since the rona virus is around im having to grow my own food. It would really help having another light to grow tomatoes and strawberries and such. Love all your videos as always. Keep up the good work
Hey thanks for stopping by. There have actually been a countless number of people that have reached out to me that were in a similar situation. I wish I could help everyone but I can't. I hope you're able to find what you're looking for. Cheers!
Wish you would do more grow vids and not just par test .
Wrong channel. This channel is for discussion videos and PAR test videos. My main channel is for grow vids. Link to main channel: ua-cam.com/channels/xRqSUclO2n5BHzV_Bc3GYQ.html
Can you do a par test without the tent. I swear there's already like 5 vids of this light in a 2x4 and it's not even suited for it... People want to know what the max is from these LEDs not some made up number depending on your invironment.
I actually took a poll asking if people wanted PAR tests in grow tents or not. 83% said in grow tents. I'm not able to do both, sorry.
@@GardenTalkwithMrGrowItseems overkill for a 2x4. using it with my 4x4 grow tent and still doing fine
So once again mars Hydro inflated the PAR readings by 40% and there’s a stupid these guys just need to be honest I’m sending mine back no thank you Mars I’m gonna stick with HLG and Optic Led.
These readings were taken with tent wide open, which will reduce readings. A google search will turn up others who have done readings with all 4 reflective wall surfaces in place.
