Honestly I forgot how perfectly they portray Franziska's personality in the first case, she has that same unerring energy as Manfred, the same mannerisms, to the point that they even share similar voice lines, but right at the end, right at 59:59 you see a strange fold to her personality that Manfred did not, she took her father's ideology of perfection to a more noble route, giving phoenix the chance to fight as long as he was still willing, she didn't want to just win, she doesn't just want another tick on her perfect resume, she treats phoenix as a rival, someone who deserves to be beaten at his best, not by some sort of technicality. Pretty much the entire video, I was thinking that Ini was actually Mimey, and oddly enough the thing that confirmed it for me was one of her animations in court. When she pulled her hat over her head, her face was outlined through the hat in a way that made her look like a ghost. Honestly a clever little detail
Right?!? It took me like 10 save restarts near the very end to predict the twist of this case cuz i kept failing, RT heard "she had her face reconstructed based on this photo" and instantly guessed the twist
I was legitimately amazed at the plot twist when I played through it, I let myself just be immersed and not think about it too hard, and that switch up at the end had me going "Hoooooly shit" so much
I can only assume he's gone through all of JFA and TT, but honestly he'll probably be burnt out by the time he finishes the trilogy. I can't imagine him playing Investigations, let alone Apollo. If he does it, at all, I'd expect it to be 2-3 years down the line maybe.
"like sands through th hour glass" is actually a referece to the soap opera "days of our lives", being the intro narration. Phenix is making a joke about what a crazy soap opera the love triangle is.
It involves a plan where two people conspired to murder the same person for different reasons, both planning to betray each other at some point, neither of which are the murderer, and also both are dead.
What bewilders me about this case is that they clearly establish that spirit channeling is a thing and that the channeler has no control over what the spirit does while channeling... And they're trying to hold Maya guilty for what the spirit ostensibly did? What?
It's a bit of a late reply, but technically in the world of the game (or even in the real world for that matter) there's no laws that defend the case of "murder while being possessed" because of how rare those kinds of cases are. Sure, the person who committed could've the crime wasn't Maya (if the whole "possessed murder" thing was what actually happened), but technically the person is dead, and they can't put a conviction on a dead person because legally dead people are off record. So they're doing the next best thing and arresting the person whom the supposed "murderer" possessed. Because in a way, Maya was technically "an accomplice". Honestly the whole case could have ended if Phoenix did the "justified self-defense" plea or "plea of insanity" since Maya wasn't in her right mind when she (supposedly) did the murder. But that would still be a conviction, and Phoenix was 100% sure that Maya was innocent. So hence the reason the case escalated.
@@thedjwaltz325 they covered it before in the previous game (1.3 I think) but they don't accept self defence as it's still viewed as murder. It's a mess up system.
@@artificialraspberify Naaahh They DO accept Self Defense, but Phoenix plain mentions in the game that even if you go for Self Defense, your life would probably be ruined anyway, because as far the public is concerned you DID kill someone. The 1-3 case was because Vasquez was outright blackmailing the victim, not too mention she had ties with the mafia, that's plenty for not wanting to be investigated or in a trial, regardless of whether it was in self defense or not.
Also I'm pretty sure somewhere in the games they say that its the spirit medium's fault if the spirit gets out of control. So even if they weren't themself, they're still held responsible
spoilers edgeworth ain't died Phoenix just read an article about a different miles Wedgeworth who died, he shows up at the ned of this togaed for the last trail.
@@jettlucashayes8508 SPOILERS I know that. Everyone who has played the game knows that, but at this point in Phoenix's story, he doesn't know that, hence why he's reacting like this. And it wasn't because a different Edgeworth died; Edgeworth was going to kill himself, he left a suicide note at his office, but then he remembered Phoenix and decided instead to travel to Europe and figure himself out before going back home. But he still left the suicide note, and because of that coupled with his disappearance, everyone, except Gumshoe, who Edgeworth was still in contact with, thought he was dead
That "all prosecutors are the same!" thing he keeps saying is literally the "all men/women are the same!" trope/cliche from bitter and heartbroken characters, it's honestly hilarious
After the case, you’re supposed to present Pearl’s profile; Morgan was doing this to further along her daughter’s status, not just her own. Maya realizes that it was for Pearl’s sake and it gives her some closure.

It's a small virtue, very easily missable, but it shows a glimmer of light within that shell of evil Manfred has forged.

@@WeatherRein See it's been a while since I played the first game so I definitely knew I wasn't remembering something right lol
Also I'm pretty sure somewhere in the games they say that its the spirit medium's fault if the spirit gets out of control. So even if they weren't themself, they're still held responsible

@@jettlucashayes8508 SPOILERS
I know that.

"Takumi was required to write the game's entire script within three and a half months, which included adding one more case compared to the four in the previous game. Takumi estimated he took about a month to create the scenario for one episode of the first Phoenix Wright game, meaning he'd have to drastically speed up the process to complete the sequel's script. After thinking it through, he realized that he could get it done if he spent one week coming up with the scenario of each episode.
