Even a Cooper F56 is surprisingly fun and feels very light (of course the 3 door manual version of it not the 4 door abobination). A Cooper with an ECU tune and good tires corners better than a Cooper S.
A couple of easter eggs I did not know about- so thank you. But the one feature that I continue to love (other than the ability to control windows and sunroof -for venting hot air on hot days) is the rear folding seat latch that place the rear seats at a right angle. This feature really makes all the difference when you are loading a box. In many case it is the difference between having to fold the seats down (and loose rear passenger space) and getting the rear hatch doors closed. I have used this MANY times in my 2016 Clubman S and although the right seat angle isn't as comfortable, it is something that I've used in a pinch for carrying people and packages for short distances. I'll also put in a shout out for the excellent cargo features of our 2016 F57 convertible. The engineering around enabling the rear deck to lift out of the way is also a game changer when you assume a box won't fit through the narrow opening of the convertible's rear cargo area. The additional flexibility of the folding rear seats REALLY make the F57 into a surprisingly practical car when my partner and I go shopping. Many people are very surprised by how practical our minis are. With the inclusion of roof bars and the Mini BMW cargo tray, there is VERY little reason to own an SUV IMO. Love our Minis.
Great vid ! First thing I looked for in our 2024 Cooper S was the hidden glove compartment. Super disappoimted that it was no longer a feature - but not enough to not buy her. Would love to see an install vid for the "aftermarket" aspect.
Great vid, with some good tips. You didn't mention the false boot floor which can also be set to different heights. My wife had her mini for 9 months before she found that out!
4:42 on the f57 on the cars main screen you can go to "easy entry" if you select it as on when you go to get in and out of the car by pulling the handle the window drops to Halfway making it easier to enter the car when you're in a tight space
I would love to see the secret compartment installed. One thing I have not seen is on a manual, pressing in the clutch also engages the brake at stops.
What about launch control! Activate dynamic traction control. Brake full on, accelerator full on. Chequered flag. Release break. It gives you everything
I absolutely love the chili pack 3 modes ,just like having 3 different vehicles in One ,as an old man 👴 i find this totally amazing and the computer controlled limited slip differential 😮
I had a 2016 Cooper S, green, black roof, black alloys. I miss it really, fantastic to drive but I needed a bigger car at the time. Im now in a position to get another car hopefully and very tempted to get another Mini. Very well made, refined and comfortable car, sound great and perfect round town or motorways.
Brilliant video, a few I didn't know about so will make sure the Mrs watches it too. The detailing products would be handy too seeing as it's mostly me that will be cleaning it...😄
Absolutely loving the content and the cars you have/had and what youve done with them. Good spot to get the mini with a pan roof and nice colour mate hope you have fun with it 😎🚗💨
Nice video & loving the new car mate The spec & colour is spot on! Who doesn’t love a car with a pan roof such a cool & Unfortunately rare extra that not many cars have 👍
Damn BMW pano roofs tho'. I've had a 5 series and currently have a 3 series with one. The 5 had drainage problems leading to fried modules in the boot and the 3 has rattles including one that was bad enough for a recall and factory-fix velcro pad kit and instructions. Many owners with prior BMW experience most def wouldn't spec one. That said, ..... it would be kinda nice in my F56. Sunlight and airiness.
Great video, unfortunately no new tricks for me, but do like using the Windows down trick as I casually walk towards my car. Works on wife's civic too😅
As for the arrogant driver parking close to you you don't have to do the lower your windows on the key fob there should be a setting inside on the computer for it it's labelled easy entry and when you open the door the window drops halfway automatically will it does on the f57 Mini Cooper Classic Convertible
We have a 2023 Mini. One to mention, that may not be so obvious… So, the obvious, the indicator stalk can be “half” tapped to get the 1-5 flashes (people will know this most likely). Less obvious, to cancel a full-on indication before waiting for self cancellation (by the steering angle), a half-tap in EITHER direction will cancel. Very handy imo and with familiarity becomes second nature to use whichever direction is preferred. Incidentally, I find that the self-cancel waits one more “tick” than I want before cancelling - slightly annoying at times - so I use the half-tap cancel a fair amount. OCD perhaps!
Just got a 2015 mini cooper s coup (automatic) ... I drive it in manual and in sport mode and actually get better gas mileage compared to my wife that doesn't use sport mode or manual but has a lead foot. I improved gas mileage by .6 mpg after driving the car about 200 miles.
Did you know that the 1-6 buttons underneath the infotainment screen are touch sensitive? If you put your finger on them but don't press them they will quickly tell you what the button is set to do.
Would like to see the video on the secret compartment installation - did you ever get around to it? Would love to know the part numbers for LHD versions also.
Didn't realise the global locking opened and shut the sunroof along with the windows. 👌🏼 Gotta do a vid of saving the 🐟 for a week or something just to see how efficient the car could be??
That shift knob was standard up until the 2022 miner refresh when the interior got a new look including the shifter knob and new displays. Some very late 2021 got the knob but not many.
For easy access instead of holding the unlock buttons and watching the windows go down. Start with the car locked and I think you can double press the unlock button. As soon as you open the door the window takes itself down and once you close the door it’ll put itself back up
Funny how many "hidden" features on these are standard BMW features going back up to 20 and 30 years - eg window closing, roof button, courtesy headlights.
“Why on earth would I buy a John cooper works to drive it like greta Thunberg, Ain’t appnin,” hahahah

Would have been nice if the JCW hatch was AWD.

@PaulTC777 Michelin Pilot sport 4s BEST TYRES for the 18" jcw wheels £170 each or cheaper option but still quality is TOYO at £170 a pair.
Please add a secret compartment installation video!

Thanks for showing the switch to change the colors of the excitement package. Mine kept changing colors and i thought thats just how it was

Also love the side sunvisor on mine. Unsure if this is another feature on early F56's with pan roof or just an option 😂
My R53 had this, loved it. My 2019 F56 doesn't :(

Think you got them all. You can also just change the trim where the secret glovebox would be fitted
I just learned how to move the floor in the hatch up so it's even with the seats when they are folded down.
Will have a look at some of those on the wife’s 2017 Clubman JCW, nice one!
Get in love the mini
The Chili pack is a MUST for the 3 modes

Tidy car fella 👊🏼
hello friend, could you say a few things about the electronic suspension of this car? How does it vary between being softer or stiffer?
I miss the old gauge pods in this version. Granted, now we don’t get any gauge pods (25+)
I would like to see the install of the secrete compartment!

Have you have any problems with pan roof and door shuts taking of paint
Unfortunately, yes with the door shuts. Will be doing a repair video just on that. No issues with the pan roof though.
The door shuts, there's three revisions of the door trim, none of them worked. It's like BMW haven't got a clue how to design cars!!
