+Gay Lord I can tell black people apart very easily. In fact, the only ones who I think look similar are Laurence Fishburne and Samuel Jackson. There is a reason why Samuel Jackson is regularly mistaken for Laurence Fishburne in particular. If you look up both their names on Google Images then they look almost like twins on some image comparisons.
i honestly can't see how people mistake between Laurence and Samuel. they look nothing alike XP anyways, i love those two (Laurence and Samuel) they're great actors and on my top 10 favorite actors/actresses list :D
Well its hard to mistake them now when Laurence has trained his body so much, but if you watch old movies like Boys N The hood and stuff from that era they were really look alikes.
I really don't understand Samuel L. Jackson and Laurence Fishburne being mistaken for one another... They really don't look ANYTHING alike. I truly just don't understand, if someone told me they were brothers I would think that one of them had been adopted because they don't even remotely resemble each other. WTF people??
I had someone tell me Denzel Washington & Will Smith are the same. The discussion was about Django & he said it's about Denzel as a slave. When I corrected him he said they were the same.
Yeah, but 20 years ago they were both slim tall black men with afros, and since they both kinda play the stereotypical badass black guys in movies some people could mistaken them from afar, if they didn't pay due attention to their faces. Back when they were younger they kinda looked more alike, nowadays both have aged and look totally different. But some guys like Javier Bardem and Jeffrey Dean Morgan or Will Ferrell and Chad Smith could actually pass as twins, and it's not a racist thing to say I believe.
KLUNKET Everyone notices certain details more so than others, for me it's the diastema they both have that Is immediately a shared feature that stands out, like a cleft chin, sometimes people tunnel vision on one attribute and choose out of the random pot.
Fishburne's most unknown and underrated role is in 1992's _Deep Cover._ This film is also one of the most underrated films of all time. Just a superb film. Not quite a _Goodfellas,_ but it's in the ballpark.
I remember the first movie I ever saw Laurence in was King of New York with Christopher Walken. He blew me away. Watch it if you get a chance. Don't get me wrong, because I think Samuel L Jackson is pretty awesome, but you don't get much better than this man.
+patrick dornoff Every human being is said to have about 6-7 lookalikes around the world - black people are no exception to this, so there will obviously be people who resemble Samuel Jackson. And considering how often Samuel Jackson and Laurence Fishburne are compared to each other - and that Samuel Jackson _actually sometimes wears a shirt that says _*_"I'm not Laurence Fishburne"!_* - it is completely justified to say that they *do* look similar - otherwise nobody would ever *say* that those specific guys look similar to each other.
Hahahaha, same here. My wife wanted to see the interview where it happened and what inspired Jackson's shirt. Then I came across (in the suggested videos), where Fishburn has had the same thing happen. Lol, too funny.
Laurence, what a classy guy. Shows you that SLJ gets that confusion thing all the time. So he takes the opportunity on live TV to berate a guy for making a mistake. Not classy.
Honestly, laurence is a fantastic actor. I have only seen him in a few films but he always surprises me. Boyz in da Hood is one where he really shined for me!
I don't think the original news anchor was being racist, Jackson overreacted because just as Fishburne states many actors are mistaken with others... the Pacino/Hoffman as he stated... during Watchmen I kept thinking I was watching Robert Downey Jr when it was Jeffrey Dean Morgan on screen... my dad used to mix up James Belushi and Bill Murray in the late 80s... also Thomas Jane and Chris Lambert... i have heard some people mix Amy Adams and Isla Fisher (I wouldn't mix them up, but many people do), etc.
Fishburne has shown pure class and Jackson was a complete, privilege-abusing (that is, the privilege of being famous and black, which is effectively a blank check to call out any white man being racist over anything that can remotely be perceived as such) ass full of himself in that interview - I don't think anybody would overreact if someone would mistake Marton Csokas for Kevin Spacey's part, but everyone is ready to throw a hissy fit over somebody mixing up Tony Todd and Peter Mensah.
As much as i like Fish, im kind of glad that he did. With his stoic delivery his version of Jules Winnfield would have turned it into a horror movie. The dude is one of the potentially creepiest on screen characters in the business. Besides, like he says himself: Sam was the highlight of Pulp Fiction.
Does anyone notice that the interviewer is confusing Samuel L Jackson's role of Jules, with yet another black actor Ving Rhames, who plays Marcellus Wallace in pulp fiction????
KauloMaPampang No, it wasn't, it was fucking Laurence Fishburne! What's next, you gonna say Morgan Freeman wasn't in Training Day or something? Come on....
I have always compared Al Pacino with Robert De Niro. Samuel L Jackson can and always will be compared to Laurence Fishburn because they are both on the same level of acting, they are both really great & talented actors. All 4 of them are.

We get mixed up for other Black people that look nothing like us. Both Al and Robert are short Italian-American actors. they do from a far off distance look similar. Laurence and Samuel does not.

He handles this with so much more class than Samuel L. Jackson. SMJ would have gone on for 4 minutes about how the lady must be racist even though, as Mr. Fishburne points out, actors of all races get mixed up for each other.
That's not as valid as you'd think, Dustin Hoffman and Al Pacino vaguely resembled each other when they were younger, where the same type of actor, and did a lot of similar roles. Fishburne and Jackson look alike in no way, are different types of actors, and, generally, play different types.
You're right, hell I once thought Johhny Depp played the killer in Scream, turns out it was Skeet Ulrich, I thought Thomas Jane was Christopher Lambert in several movies, does that make me racist? No so SLJ should chill the fuck out.
The irony of all this is the interviewer is mistaking one black character for another. He kept saying "Marcellus Wallace" when that was played by Ving Rhames. He MEANT "Jules" (Sam Jackson's character).
Laurence Fishburne is so damn graceful...same with Sam Jackson. I love both those guys...and yes Laurence in Samuel...I very much know who is who...and hope continued success for the both of you!
George confuses Sam Jackson's character in Pulp Fiction (Jules) for Ving Rhames character (Marsellus Wallace) at 0:38. Based on the previous topic of conversation it's almost as though he said that on purpose as a rude joke.
Check out Larry Fishburn in Apocalypse Now in which he played Tyrone Miller, a cocky 17-year-old Gunner's Mate from the Bronx, nicknamed Mr. Clean. I just felt like sharing that. And so it goes.
I know how he feels.

You're right, hell I once thought Johhny Depp played the killer in Scream, turns out it was Skeet Ulrich, I thought Thomas Jane was Christopher Lambert in several movies, does that make me racist? No so SLJ should chill the fuck out.
Quentin Tarantino actually came very close to making a Luke Cage movie starring Lawrence Fishburne!
Cool.
Is he in pjs
Samuel complains about being mistaken for Laurence too, yet you never see them together...
they look so fuckin different
I just watched a SLJ interview with Fallon where SLJ tells the story how Tarantino wrote Jules Winnfield specifically for SLJ!
This interview seriously makes me wonder if this interviewer just mistook Ving Rhames' part in Pulp Fiction for Sam Jackson's 😆
You’d think that after his stellar performance in PULP FICTION everyone would recognize Laurence Fishburne🤣🤣🤣🤣
He doesn't look anything like sam jackson!!!
The irony of all this is the interviewer is mistaking one black character for another. He kept saying "Marcellus Wallace" when that was played by Ving Rhames. He MEANT "Jules" (Sam Jackson's character).
That's okay. I mistook Larry Fishburne's daughter for a porn star once.
No, Marcelus Wallace was the OTHER black guy played by Ving Rhames. Like Lawrence says, Jules was the role played by Sam Jackson.
Not keen on the nasty pajama-no-sock look.
Laurence 🐟🔥
Fun fact: the Morpheus part was written with Sam Jackson in mind.
This guy woke up from bed and attended the interview without even changing his pj's
I liked Samuel L Jackson in that movie "Action Jackson." It was cool that he got to keep his real name for the movie.
this is even funnier after watching the guy mistaking Samuel L Jackson for Laurence Fishburne on the Capital One commercial.lol
I'm here because of Hannibal. Just started watching it!
Loved him in Mandalorian season 3. Knew Windu survived Palpatine somehow and now we know he also saved Grogu from the temple purge.
Jimmy Jump and Furious Styles 🔥🔥🔥
people say they cant be mistaken
well i got confused as a kid 🤐
what i dont understand more is people confusing b/w rdj and jd 😂
loved this guy in Snakes On A Plane
> Laughs at people who confuse Fishburne with Jackson
> Confuses Jackson with Ving Rhames
Samuel Jackson be like "Enough is enough!! I have had it with these Muthafking agents in this muthafking Matrix"
Larry and Sam have rocked the same hairstyles too though that doesnt help lol
Curtis the Cowboy had a curly perm
Jules had a Jerry curl ....
Check out Larry Fishburn in Apocalypse Now in which he played Tyrone Miller, a cocky 17-year-old Gunner's Mate from the Bronx, nicknamed Mr. Clean.
I just felt like sharing that.
And so it goes.
I think you have the title wrong. This is a video of Samuel L. Jackson talking about being mistaken for Laurence Fishburne right?
I've mistaken Josh Duhamel for Timothy Olyphant is that the same thing?😂😂😂
