It's been three years and I like that twist at 2:40 even better now! You know what? I'm gonna play it too from now on, and I'll call it the "Taylor twist". Very well done!
"U" sound real good on that parlor guitar & that acoustic amp. Oh yeah......what a great piece. "U" have a knack for pickin' out challenging/charming pieces. A thrill to hear you play this nice tune so nice. I am now wondering if I should pick up my guitar now. PEACE
Oh wow what a cool guitar!!! (And of course you're a great player too...) For the thumb downers - this is one of the hardest Tommy songs to play. I wonder if you could ever learn to do it better, even if you would practice every day of the rest of your life. Oh and by the way: I love that twist at 2:40. I believe this is one of those songs that has been so masterfully arranged that the best way to play it is exactly like Tommy does it, but for this twist I'll make an exception. ;-)
This video is excellent because the camera doesn't move or zoom, so we can see the whole performance. Who would want to miss Ms. Taylor's swaying and interpreting as she plays? How much of that artistry would be lost if her performance were cut up and chopped off by some idiot trying to demonstrate his expertise with a camera. Yet sadly, this video is the exception; the rule whether its is the finest television-studio technicians or UA-cam amateurs, is zooming in and cutting off. Watch Chuck Berry--except you can't because his duck walk is cut out of the picture by a close-up. Watch Joni Mitchell dancing as she sings "Both Sides Now" in concert--but only for a second, because then the camera (to show how artistic it is) slowly zooms in from the back of the auditorium to the back of her head. Et cetera. In the fifties , you could see all of Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby singing "What a Swell Party This is" as a duet; most of Hank Williams singing; and Elvis singing "I Slipped, I Stumbled, I Fell" to Millie Perkins with both of them being shown, Elvis's singing and Perkins's reactions, throughout the song. But today it's zoom in, cut out, chop off.Fred Astaire had it written into his contract that the camera must show his whole body, which is one of the reasons that his movies are so great.
Like a BOSS!!!

Wow, creepy comment alert.
Nice!
can anyone tell me how to make that boom chick bass sound and youre an inspiration macyn
Straight to tube amp? No acoustic effects ?
Very nice tune and playing with a sort of Kottke bounce.
I plugged the MiSi pickup in the guitar directly into the tube amp. I love that amp. My godfather gave it to me.
Dig it : ) ......new sub
So young and you can play like a pro.

Martin Taylor < Macyn Taylor
This was an overdue like!
Nnnnnnnice!!!
They should rename the song after Macyn and call it "(Girl with the) Crazy Fingers".
Wish I could play 1% as good as you.
I mean, what can I say,
I can fix that baroque guitar for you when the time comes. I too have a green thumb.
