Congratulations for graduating from a difficult and demanding university study 3 year journey, aswell as being a student athlete. You are a hard working person indeed and never give up trying. Proud of you
I graduated from Berkeley in CS 30+ years ago and this video brought back some many wonderful memories! My favorite was 61b and my worse was cs170 🤢 (yes, the names and toughness are still the same!) My daughter is a swimmer and we enjoy your videos very much! Go Bears!
Yeah I don’t know how you survived with that schedule and swimming on top of that. I’m struggling to get my eecs degree in 4 years.. congrats!! Mad respect
Being a Computer Engineer Student .. and me myself being into weight and endurance training and managing schedules I can so much relate to you brother and also your Subjects Python Java, OS, Microprocessor, Algorithms , Database their assignments and their practicals and projects and exams.. blah blah blah this things f... you up 😬 but they make you mentally strong in some way. Just keep training and uploading videos people like you are really going to motivate a lot of people and make a statement that you can practice the things you love or you want along with doing one of hardest degree(or job etc.) in life.
From grinding 162 in Kresgre, learning to calculate taxes in 135, to counting I/Os in 186 and dancing ballet in 40... It's been an amazing journey and we made it! What's next... MBA???
No matter what university where you are in the world, Computer Science will always be the most challenging degrees to get, its no walk in the park unless you are well verse in programming. Congrats bro on this achievement 🔥👊
Kingshuk Gupta hahahahaha, same as me. 24 hours a day is not enough for me, there has been like 3/4 month period where I couldn’t even afford going on a nights out. But the harder subject was definitely physics for me, especially when it comes to EMs and QMs.
@@xxdxma6700 Dayum, that kinda scares me. I'm still in my senior year of high school so I still have time. I want physics as my main major and I already did a lot of QM just because of my interest in physics. I wanna go into quantum computing and therefore want a background in CS. So I'm confused whether to take CS as a major or a minor. Anyways best of luck dude. I really hope you do well
Kingshuk Gupta yh thx man. I’d also suggest learn some programming as well, cus all the ‘intro courses’ weren’t rlly intro. They basically expect you to learn a language in like a week whilst you got all the physics content on the side as well.
I dunno how I stumbled into this video, but as a CS grad myself long ago from some no name school it is interesting to watch how it was on one of the top flight CS program in the world. The concepts of OSes, Data Bases, AI and others brings back those acad days of sooo long ago. And you being a swimmer, well that IS interesting bonus. 👍🏼 I'll watch some of the other episodes on this channel. 😉😉
My uncle never was very smart. He barely passed high school and did no work. He then became a tradie. About 6 years later he decided to go to university and is now a software engineer, which I find really cool how he switched up
thz for sharing to us ...... your video is benefit of deep we get about of that university .. you also be a best student also I think ... Be trying ... 🙂
I am gonna be a CS major by the fall at St.cloud etate university...and damnnnnnnn. I am very impressed that you passed through all this. I admire you highly bro...RESPECT
Geez Marcos. That is a large and beautiful campus. Im sure you learnt alot of useful information even though it was challenging. Most importantly, you did it!! Congratulations. Looking forward to your next posting. 💜
Yup wasn't exactly AP but IB but similar enough. I only took one class during the summer (the other I had an internship) but yeah, more classes per semester too. And thanks Patrick! :)
I had final exams so couldn't dedicate too much time on videos. Also this video took an insane amount of time to edit haha I want to make sure every video I put out I'm proud of and know you guys will appreciate - which sometimes means posting every two weeks instead of one!
I'm sure they do as the languages depend on the concepts taught. For example, it would make sense to teach data structures in Java but if you're going to learn about computer architecture than C and Assembly most closely explains that.
Sorry to disturbed you again but I have one more question: Does fund crises had any impact on eecs course at UC Berkeley? I hope you will definitely reply 😃
Thank you so much for sharing this! I am an incoming transfer student, and I am just wondering is it possible to finish a cs degree in 4 semesters😐Thank you!!!
good at art, sports, finished a challenging cs degree, good looking & a good personality?? like god didn't even think to level the playing field and make it even a bit fair for us all & everyone else?
Operating Systems and Design en España, al menos en la UPM, la tuvimos también y es chunga de cojones, pero se acaba aprobando por lo civil o lo criminal
Did you have time for a girlfriend ? My dad says to make time for a girlfriend and have a good time in college. The best years of life are when you are young..... Congrats on graduating in 3 years from UCB
I had a girlfriend for 2.5 of my 3 years there and I managed it fine. Each relationship is different so I can't say what worked for me will work for everyone. Up to you and how committed you guys are! And thank you!
@@marcosricopeng Why not? I think it's a good idea to start on something so close to the bare metal as it prevents copy pasta. Which is a pervasive thing amonst junior devs.

@@marcosricopeng the fact that you say "video". Loves it.
my comm major swimmer mind didn't understand a word you said in this vid yet I watched the entire thing hahah
Hahahha you a real one for that
The real question is, how many hours did you spend studying in an average week? Love the video btw. Marcos Rico subscriber count++;
Haha depends on the week, I try to keep it the same number of hours I practice swimming ;) Thanks for the sub!
That's insane how you finished a EECS degree in 3 years while being D1. Man, how the hellllllllll.
Grind 💪
It’s very useful to the students who have some major. Hope there is someone from UCLA can share same topic about business economics 😜😜😜😜
hey marcos! can you please make a video abt how many APs or IB courses you took to get into UC Berkeley??
It's a bit too niche but I took the full IB Diploma curriculum (6classes: 3HL, 3SL)
Can you make a video on how to draw
Just draw what you see!
Congratulations !!! Just wondering, you speak Mandarin ?
Thank you! And nope
Can I ask how you were able to graduate with a bachelor's in EE/CS in only 3 years?? Major props to you for doing so! I think it sounds impossible!
AP credits and taking summer courses in between years
Plus more classes per semester

Was ur sleep psych professor Matthew Walker? He wrote a really cool book abt sleep that I’ve read and enjoyed lol

do different colleges have their computer science courses in different languages? i assumed everyone used java but idk
