UC Berkeley is located in Silicon Valley, the home of tech. So naturally, the university has been hugely influenced by the startup culture. There are tons of business clubs such as the Venture Capital Club and Hyperloop Club. Studying at UC Berkeley greatly increases your chances of getting into a tech startup. The Co-Founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, graduated from Berkeley. And the school has created a lot more tech billionaires such as Masayoshi Son, the CEO of Softbank.
As a UC Berkeley student, you're always competing for jobs or grades. The school culture is heavily focused on academics and studying. So your college life isn't going to be glamorous as the movies. BUT your life after college will be ;) Because your starting salary for working at these big tech startups is $100k-$200k USD. If you find yourself in Cal for school in the future, you should check out the Hearst Mining Hall building at the top of campus! The study hall gives Harry Potter vibes and it is deathly quiet, with not many people. Perfect for studying 12 hours straight and feeling like only 1 hour has passed.

academics not at good. Ucla bad for fianace and business sicne they dont have those majors. Top buisness firms barely recruit from Ucla and not in silicon valley etc

Hey are you a California resident just cause I am from France and I am moving to California with a scholarship for UC Berkeley and I know if I live on year and I am a resident it s not so expensive as being an international
A very small minority of students are in the EECS department so I wouldn't exactly call Berkeley the university of tech billionaires. A large portion of people at uc Berkeley probably couldn't even get into eecs at uc Merced. It doesn't really matter where those tech billionaires went because research shows successful students who get accepted to top schools but attend lower ranked schools do just as well as their peers who went to top schools. It might have caused some slight hurdles regarding networking for them but with the age of the internet you can network with almost anyone anywhere so that might not even matter anymore.
UC Berkeley is known as the best public University in the world. Acceptance rate is only 16% and University of Oxford is 17%
