    The next part is up on the channel now. It's called "The priceless byzantine treasures lost at sea".
    They really should link it, or at least put part 1 in this title so we knew there'd be more, it did seem to end abruptly and randomly lol🤷‍♀️ but anyways..👍 ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    As long as there is something to be discovered, men will continue to do what they have done since time immemorial: pursue what is hidden. But it must be said that new technologies have made the work of archaeologists much easier. In the past, persistence was essential, because making a surprising discovery was something that depended on infinite unsuccessful attempts. Now that sophisticated equipment pinpoints with great precision where something interesting might exist, archeology depends more on a lot of money than on the resigned patience of those who accept making many mistakes to get it right just once after decades.

      Same feeling here. Watch how techs used by "Time Team" have been progressing over the years : from some kind of electronic walking stick in 1993 to quad driven magnetometry and resistometry, GPR, LIDAR, and combined sciences investigations today... Amazing !

      Yes but the true art and passion for it hasn't changed. It might be easier to find but much harder to intricate logging in detail the finds and discoveries. Technology has gotten better but so has the field. Documentation is way better now vs then.

    Ancient beaches at 485 feet deep. In Refugio Texas the ocean was once 11 miles further inland at Refugio in the year 1622. Just imagine where the ocean was going back another 500 plus years. Thermopylae sits at 400 above sea level now and was once at sea level in years around 480 bc. So I call BS on any small scale sudden Black Sea flood.

    Why is it so hard to accept the biblical flood story... all cultures thru out the world speak of it...

    • @moemuggy4971
      @moemuggy4971 6 місяців тому +1

      Because we know there wasn't any single worldwide flood, or it could be seen by geologists. Scientists and Biblical scholars alike have been searching for centuries, and so far there is nothing but a few large local floods like this one. Big, yes, but hardly Worldwide.
      Not to mention the supposed Biblical flood happened 2350 BC, and we know that many cultures were thriving and doing well at this time, like the Chinese, Egyptians, and the Sumerians. Just to name a few. These cultures never went anywhere.
      It's a fairytale with a dash of truth told to children.

      parable
      noun
      par·a·ble ˈper-ə-bəl ˈpa-rə-
      Synonyms of parable
      : a usually short fictitious story that illustrates a moral attitude or a religious principle
      the Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan
      also : something (such as a news story or a series of real events) likened to a parable in providing an instructive example or lesson
      -Merriam-Webster dictionary. Jesus tells us that many biblical tales, including His own, were parables. Not meant to be taken as literal truths or histories.
      He also used them to conceal the messages from those who wanted to stop the message from getting through. We have to think of the stories as messages to us about how to behave, not literally how, say Noah behaved. His ship might even be thought of as a way of separating Noah and his family and their animals from ‘heathens.’
      Jesus wants us to use our minds to do the right that is in our hearts.

    • @smileyginger1
      @smileyginger1 9 місяців тому +2

      yes, water is H2O (oxygen) but it's bonded and thus doesn't cause degradation of the wrecks, "free" oxygen concentrations enter the water through external means so at shallow depths, there's a lot of biological activity, which means more oxygen. once you get down to lower depths where there's little biological activity, free oxygen levels can be at near zero.

      Scripture is based on the understanding of the time it was written. It was all written by men. Yes, it is known as God's word but still it was written in human understanding. Surely you can consider that Scripture is not exact fact but God's way of teaching morals and ethics. It doesn't make scientific evidence (using current technology) any less factual. It also doesn't change the narrative of Scripture.
