What a surprisingly amazing story about Treasure Hunters in Vietnam. "Hon Tre Lon" means "Big Bamboo Island" in English for sure. At this time , 2024 I guess this island is now full of tourists. Great vid 😊
So the same guy found three treasure maps for the same treasure? And they just so happen to get more detailed every time? That's what makes me wonder....
Also.. if I was the owner of those three chests and had found a secret compartment in each one! I'd definitely have Checked for other hidden places and stripped 🪚🪛 them chests down to matchstick sized pieces of timber 😆
Sounds like Kidd's last gamble, there's no way he could have alone haul off the ship and bury anything of significant size, let alone a treasure hoard. either he would need help, and somebody would talk, or the stash was much smaller than he pretended.
44:42 The women says the govs wouldn't pay ransoms because otherwise it would happen again, but she's dead wrong, it's not a ransom when the imprisoned person is guilty of it's imprisonment... It's a bail, a fine but not a ransom
48:03 no dreams of buried treasure. Do not die. They either transform into found treasure or they keep changing over time because there's always people who want to strike it. Rich easily
10:05 at that point that rope was very far off and that crew was very close and he figured he can get a plan together for the rope but definitely not for the crew
I've got a treasure map with an island of the same shape, it's uncanny. Nowhere near this nor has anything to do with this treasure. It's in fresh water. I was going to give up but I think now I'll give it one more try. Haha!
What utter crap! Kidd's logbooks and admiralty records are detailed and extensive. He never sailed to modern day Vietnam lol. After taking the quedah merchant, he went to Madagascar then the Caribbean where he burned the adventure galley after realizing he was a wanted man, and sailed to gardners island NY in their remaining ship where he did indeed bury his share with Gardner as a surity against Bellomont, but it was taken by him. he also stopped at Block Island and offloaded some of his share to his wife Sarah and then on to Boston to clear his name. this is literally written about in a very detailed account! also does that childens map look like it was made in the 17th century? and who put latitude and longitude back then without clocks on board ship??
48:03 there's a decent chance. The Vietnamese tore that whole island apart looking for it and if it was there they did find it and they never said a word about it
Hidden treasure was mostly a myth because it takes more than 1 person to bury a signifigant treasure. The crew would figure out a way to sail back and take it.
They still haven’t found the treasure in china. Because they killed everyone who hid it. Wouldn’t be surprised if something similar happened back then to avoid those problems
That's the logical explanation that keeps me working 60+ hr a week for my treasure multiple people buried it those multiple people usually had family and friends that were probably told about it and so on, but somehow 1 person 100+ years later finds a map and thinks it's still there mmmkay
46:02 That's one thing people always tend to forget. America is one of the most charitable countries on the planet. We just like to make our own choices. We don't like being forced into it
This last guy is full of it hes useing the sweat of others to look for treasure of kidds if it has nothin do with kidd were does he think the maps came from

It deserves to be still there and to be found. I hope a worthy Hunter finds it and shares their story with the World.

Exciting story BUT the date on the first map is 1669…30 years prior to Kidd becoming a pirate 🤔
Kidd was hanged on 23 May 1701
48:03 there's a decent chance. The Vietnamese tore that whole island apart looking for it and if it was there they did find it and they never said a word about it
Kidd's noose was wrong. That was an American noose, not a British one...
Kidd was trashed by shanks😂😂😂😂
There was no treasure he just said that to save his ass and it didn't work
My mother’s maiden name was Kidd and our ancestors from England and I’ve often wondered if we are descendants of capt Kidd
29:29 Philippines 😲
Wouldn't sailors on the ship KNOW where he buried it?? Therby once he was hung. They could have just went back and got it

The crew wouldn't be educated enough to find their way.
"Three people can keep a secret, If two are dead." Benjamin Franklin . . . not sure how exact

1 can do it 😅
Rerun.
Should have sent letters to other nations asking them to assist. I'm sure they'd be happy to give a rival Nation a black eye and get 15 million free
Ok sure no one can fake markings on a box.
In the 1930s they were able to fake some of the Virginia Dare stones.
If the maps weren't so elaborately hidden I might not think it was a hoax. The skull and bible thing was really overdoing it.
Funny how 1 person ended up with all 3 maps.

The character they picked for cap. Kid looks like a fat bookkeeper.
It seems far too elaborate to be a false trail.
You're Kidding right? Hahaha 😆
Kidd never went to Asia.
He did, I was there with him

Must respect other country. Dont simply do what you want. Be careful with colonial countrys.
