That part ”Shabadaba” is a SCAT. Wajima (guitarist), who wrote this song, believes that the really deep human emotions cannot be expressed in words, and he expresses them in SCAT.

Greetings from Germany to Germany! :)
These guys have been around for a LONG time already. They are the old guard of japanese heavy metal. Been a band for over 30 years and released over 20 albums but only now do they start getting international recognition. They actually did their first international mini-tour not long ago with only 3 gigs in Germany and England. Shinji Wajima, the guitarist, wears the look of a literary professor and actually a lot of his lyrics are based in literature, just like the band-name Ningen Isu actually is. The buddhist death monk is Ken-ichi Suzuki, master of bass as well as master of face. He and Shinji formed this band in 1987 and have been playing together ever since. The drummer is Nobu Nakajima and his "Elvis"-style is actually the look of a japanese gangster.
Try "Namahage" by them. Either the video or live, its both great :) Or any other song others have already suggested.

Scat is way to sing without words. This song is a prayer for success.... and this song got viral on UA-cam and they did their first abroad tour in January. 2 gigs in Germany!!! You missed them! Ningen Isu have played since the late 80:ies and have played the hole time! Sort of the Grandfathers of J-rock. Their song "Life for Sale" is awesome. There is a J-Rock ladies band that started earlier. Their name is Show-Ya. Check them out! Sort of Grandmothers of the J-rock

I definitely could not expect to see and hear what I've just seen and heard after I've read the band name. Probably I'm just not very familiar with the world of rock to that extent but..
That juicy guitar sound at the very beginning. And again the guitar solo somewhere closer to the end... Amazing!
The lead singer looks like a grandpa you would never expect to have such a voice and such guitar skills. Adorable contrast!
Wabadababiba... Many thanks to the person who asked to react to this.
    Great discovery for me!

scat = a style of singing, where the "shabbadabba dia" comes from
Such a beautiful song, the lyrics remind me of Dio, and the guitars are Iommi good.

Awesome reaction!! This band one of the classics rock groups from Japan. They're really influenced by heavy rock and proto metal from the 70's, they're fans of Black Sabbath, Budgie and Motörhead. But something unique about them is that they bring a lot of influences from ancient japanese literature and folklore, so the way they sing, like the "lululu" part, belongs to their japanese musical roots.
If you'd like to know more, try this song:
    -Ai no Nirvana:

And, for entertainment purposes, check out the battle between Ningen Isu guitarist, Shinji Wajima and BAND-MAID guitarist, Kanami Tohno. Is really funny.

The band is really these 3 guys
I saw them at work in Bochum this year in februari, and it's just those 3 on stage :)
I thought you might liked that one so that's why i suggested it to you, since you also listened to other japanese bands in the channel i thought i could keep the theme going :D

  • @zenbra_deutsch3500
    @zenbra_deutsch3500 4 роки тому +4

"Shabababadia Shabababadia Babababa" and "Lulululu" are Jazz scats, also called "scat singing". It's a style using emotive and nonsense syllables instead of words in solo improvisations on a melody. NINGEN ISU is the precursor of Metal in Japan, they're doing it for over 30 years. Though Babymetal atracted attention to Metal in Japan and people discovered Ningen Isu, I knew them because I love many things in Asian culture and in the 80's there were successful Japanese bands that called attention to the Metal there too. But just now NINGEN ISU is getting the status of legend of Japanese Metal it's due to them. React to "The Colour Out Of Space". PS: Guitarist is dressed as a Master Meijei, bass player is a death-touched Budhist monk and the drummer is dressed as an Yakuza member.

Thanks for the great reaction! They have over twenty albums of material so no shortage of songs to react to. A few to consider:
Inochi Urimasu (命売ります; Life For Sale) (ua-cam.com/video/-IGOPfDQj6o/v-deo.html) - another recent music video.
Odoru Issunbousi (踊る一寸法師; Dancing One-Inch Preacher) (ua-cam.com/video/fQbIWTVd7qY/v-deo.html) - a live performance
And if you want to see them back in their early years (different drummer):
Hari no Yama (針の山; Hell's Mountain Of Needles)(ua-cam.com/video/KNxfQGvtmBE/v-deo.html) - very early live performance

YES! I fucking love this song! I took it as a joke at first, but then I listened again and was like.. This is actually really good! Also check out their song 'The color out of space' and read the subtitles. It tells a sci-fi horror story that's delightfully nerdy. lol. ua-cam.com/video/1JY89ZxVqEg/v-deo.html

HEARTLESS SCAT - NINGEN ISU Band
If you, Holy Angels, do exist in this universe
Will you bless me on the cheeks?
With my painful effort never paid off
I've just been standing in the shadow
Will the day come someday when I can fly high in the sky?
Will the day come when I can see the Sun?
    Tell me, Holy Angels
    Shabadabadia
    Shabadabadia
    Babababa
    Shabadabadia
    Shabadabadia
    Babababa
If you, Divine Goddess, are staying hidden somewhere
Why don't you smile at me on my forehead?
I've never tasted the nectar of victory
    I’ve never succeeded in love
Will the day come when I can get intoxicated by the victory?
Will the day come when I can embrace love?
    Tell me, Divine Goddess
    Shabadabadia
    Shabadabadia
    Babababa
    Shabadabadia
    Shabadabadia
    Babababa
Countless stars are twinkling in the sky
Every one of us is under them
With a thousand wishes in each heart
    Lululu Lululu
If you, Lord Buddha, really exist in some place
Please have mercy on me, too
Having nothing precious in my possession
    Desolated
    Isolated
I've been living my life with a series of failures
Will the day come when I can totally be satisfied?
Will the day come when my dreams come true?
    Tell me, Lord Buddha
    Shabadabadia
    Shabadabadia
    Babababa
    Shabadabadia
    Shabadabadia
    Babababa
Shine a light on my life
Shine a light on my future
Shine a light on every creature
Shine a light on tomorrow for all.

Also as for other awesome bands from Japan: Check out the band Maximum the Hormone! They are their own special brand of insane AND awesome! Actually Nao, the lady who plays drums in Maximum the Hormone, is one of the big inspirations for Band Maid drummer Akane. The rest of them are male with the guitarist being Nao's brother. They all sing are incredibly heavy but also go total haywire with integrating different musical styles. Also extremely fun to watch and their lyrics, while sometimes hard to get a grasp on, are actually very meaningful and sometimes even a big middle finger in the face of "fans" who whine about what they do. Their music videos are weird pieces of art really!
Check out the videos for "Maximum the Hormone II", "Yoshu Fukushu" and "Alien" or, if you want to see the totally awesome live insanity, check out this awesome video: ua-cam.com/video/f4TEe35ycSA/v-deo.html
